Hey J Dawg I'm from a Muslim background and the same thing in Islam , you're going to hell if you don't believe in Allah, and it's really unfair that a God who's supposed to be a merciful one , is threatening another people who don't believe in him by putting them in Hell, religions are really antihuman
Since you're from a Muslim background, is it also true that a lot of Muslims believe you'll be going to Hell for enjoying music? I read about something like that. Something to the effect of pigs and apes being enjoyers of music.
I was on the fence when they put out Colony. After that, I can’t listen to In Flames. Kreator went from thrash to shit to modern thrash. I’m pretty sure they count twice. I still love a lot of the new shit over the last 20yrs. Yet I love the stuff from Coma of Souls and earlier.
Talking sold out and nobody mentions Satyricon, satyr went on a rant in Glasgow about how Scotland isn't ready for black metal, totally shut down with the reply "fuckin play some then"
I saw Satyricon back in like 08 or so. My buddy and I were waiting the whole show for them to play some old stuff. They finally played Mother North at the very end, which was cool, but not enough haha. I agree everything after Rebel Extravaganza pretty much sucks
Oh come on J-Dawg, you know more about outer space and "big big space rocks" and the Big Bang Theory then you let on. Remember our chat at the bar that one night, well if you don't let me remind you brah. J-Dawg, I enjoyed our little chat at the bar the other night, I would never of thought you were the type who was into "the cosmos" will wonders never cease. I was amazed and impressed at how articulate you were on the matter with, in your own words, all those "poser planets" and "gay astroids" and "all that other shit out there". But it's when the talk turned to Triton is when you really had me hooked, brah. "Triton is the largest of Neptune's 14 moons, it also has the unique distinction of being the coldest planetary body in the solar system and it's most distinctive land feature is a nitrogen ice volcano. Poser's wouldn't last a day on Triton. I gurantee god damn T-it". I was so taken by how insightful and passionate you were about the mysteries of the universe, in fact your words on the matter were SO utterly spell-binding that they completely blanked-out the jukebox, but no matter, it was just playing some stupid-ass fuckin' poser bull-shit (mostly Soulfly). I gotta tell yah J-Dawg, old buddy, you inspired me to the point where I went out and bought my first telescope! True story. \m/
Sellouts? Sepultura (KINDA enjoying 90s albums, but are definitely trendy and made for commercial purposes) Still wondering if you could call Carcass sellouts, as Heartwork was pretty inventive for its time actually, so I would actually see it as a less extreme but nonetheless sonic experiment
I’ve said it before, but I actually like a lot of the stuff on Grand Declaration of War. Too much interlude-y noise stuff, but the actual metal stuff I like
J Dawg Question god damnit!!!!!!!!! In todays day and age with all the recording technology, computers digitial etc, it can make a band sound good when they really arent. I have always been a firm believer that great bands are actually better live, even if its more raw. Your thoughts??
An extreme band that sold out is Gorerotted. They changed their sound and name to 'The Rotted' because their old sound was not commercial enough. Yeah, and where are they now? Their first album was GREAT! Pretty unique vocal sound and cool album art on 'Mutilated In Minutes.'
Entombed, Arch Enemy, Sepultura, In Flames, Fear Factory, Nile, Gorguts, are a few that come to mind that i think tried to change style to sell more records, but i think Samael, Beherit, Sarcofago, Vulcano, Gorgoroth, Satyricon, Burzum all made changes that i personally thought were odd and were maybe done in an attempt to sell more records.
??? Question, Do you collect any label series???? I’m a big fan of XtreemMusic’s death cult series where they release bands early demos on 10 inch vinyl on cool splatter. Also some of the early Relapse 7 inch single series.
I believe if the band moved to a different label to sell more I can see that looking bad too. I remember bands were signed to that Toyota label. If a band sounds like nunslaughter but is moved to a label that is like “Walmart records” I will pass. I got bills to pay like everyone else haha take pride in your music bands haha
Hey JLog?? Were you at the All that is Evil show in 2001 that reaper just posted on youtube???? Halloween show at the Phantasy???? Abominant played that one From the Depths in corpse paint??? Wondered if you were there
So did you specifically listen to 3 Vicious Blade songs just in case some wise ass with a microphone stops you on the street and insists you name 3 songs by the band because you're wearing the shirt? Jk, the shirt looks awesome.
J-Dawg question, ok your first story of the Vicious Sword girl reminded me of something really important...Who would you say is the LEAST reliable, piece of shit, lying, two-faced, etc. person you've met in the scene over the years? Or multiple people? Being a man/woman of your word is really big in my book.
I get a kick out of imagining JDawg ascending into heaven only to spend eternity with a bunch of coom-bye-ya singin' Jesus chrispies. He'd probably try to fashion a gun out of some cloud and off himself from the afterlife.
Any Devils ever listen to Seattle area thrash band Coven? They had three albums between 1988 and 1992. Blessed is the Black Death Walks Behind You Boneless Christian The third album is more humorous than serious. The music is good. The lyrics to me, are kind of funny
*Zodiac* I've read the book about him as well. He's a fascinating character. I've seen the Zodiac movie that they made in the 70s to try to lure him out. They put it in theatres in San Francisco figuring with his big ego he would come see movie. They profiled all the guys fit a certain type but no leads ever came about. I actually learned about him from unsolved mysteries in the 80s before I ever heard of Macabre.
J-dawg, DO YOU LIKE CLAM CHOWDER??? HOW ABOUT DINTY MOORE STEW??? EVER COOK A LOBSTER??? What happened to you as a kid to make you get angry about a mythical religious story? It's literally a world religion for a reason tho??? Is it because everyone is a poser sheep???
Ever see the Metal documentary "Get Thrashed"? From it you'll learn some very valuable and interesting information, such as Dave Mustaine has a strong disliking for Dinty Moore beef stew. Check it out brah. \m/
Hard to disagree, this is the same band that released an album that can only be described as "iPhone commercial background music" in 2020. The stopping point for me is American Idiot.
Question JDawg, I think it has already been posted here and you answered it but do you play any instruments - and if you don’t - which song would you like to cover the most and on which instrument?
Hey Jdawg! QUESTION????? Are you familiar with those posers in the band Disharmonic Orchestra? What is the deal with that gay ass picture on the back of one of their record sleeves where they are all holding stuffed animals and playing with toys but there is a random Deceased hat on a stuffed teddy bear??? I'm assuming they were taking a jab at King and Deceased for some reason? I know they did a show together back in 1990.
QuestionJ-Dawg?????? Talking about sellouts, do you know any bands who did the opposite??? I mean bands who started out wimpy and commercial but did a whole 180 and go fucking brutal and kvlt??
You guys are missing the point of a ''sellout''. Changing artistic direction like Darkthrone or Burzum is NOT selling out. It doesn't give them more money! Selling out is when you do something more commercial to make big bucks. Judge artists by the way they live. Fenriz and Vikernes (and others I can list) don't live a fancy life these days. They live the black metal life as they did when they were young.
I believe there is something greater than humanity beyond this life. I disagree with the theory that we are here to be judged. I believe being here serves another purpose. I think the God that we've comes to understand was created by man. How can such a benevolent and loving God be filled with so much human error such as jealousy, anger and hypocrisy? The God organized religion shows you is incapable of unconditional love and is so full of human emotion. Their God is as petty as the average low life on earth.
I find it hard to think that Christianity is true because if you really think about it, Hinduism is pretty much the oldest religion and came before Christ or whatever. I honestly find that ridiculous that people still think Christianity is true due to that.
I actually really like the album Diabolus in Musica. It is different from their sound but I like the songs. When the album came out, Best Buy had a commercial about carrying it and I thought that was weird. The Slayer album I don't like is God Hates Us All.
I liked most of that album. Since Kerry only wrote maybe one or two songs. That could be considered Jeff Hanneman’s experimental phase. Point is my favorite song on the album
@@KaaiHawaiianDeathMetal bitter peace, scrum and overt enemy are all great songs desire even is I know it ain't popular with the band, but I like it,,,,that break down riff on overt enemy is one of my top 5 slayer riffs ever the one after he says,,cast out the demigod, cast out the church of god.
@@jmorbid7319 I share similar opinions with you on that album. I will probably listen to it tomorrow during my 3 1/2hr drive to work on a forklift tomorrow. Or on the return drive
@@KaaiHawaiianDeathMetal do that bro,,and when you hear that break down riff in overt enemy the one that kinda sounds like in the hall of the mountain king (the symphony) think to yourself this album is only considered experimental because it's got a few samples and a pitch shifted riff here or there but it's still a good album.
dont wanna get into a debate but allot of the statements were misinformation. bible never actually says you burn for all eternity... may unsub if the christ hating continues on this channel. i do like death metal music tho.
>may unsub if the christ hating continues on this channel. You must be new to the channel then. I will agree about burning in Hell being misinformation (Hell is painful but not forever if people bothered to read the specific wording used to describe it). Hard to burn forever when you're turned to ash.
