If Detroit: Become Human was an anime... but it's in English 

Just the little "I'm okay" breaks my heart every single time 🥺

I would actually love for a movie to be made of Detroit (an animated one tho duh)

No offense to the Japanese VAs, but I honestly prefer Bryan Deckhard’s (English VA) performance, his delivery is just so sad, and it makes you understand the fear he felt in that moment. I think it just fits the scene better

Connor's Japanese VA has a deeper and rougher voice, and he sounded incredibly stricken and intense after Simon shoots himself, which was great for Sad-ist (someone who can take emotion and magnify it visually) to animate. Aside from wanting to sell the anime vibe lol. Bryan Dechart's (Connor's og VA) performance in this scene was quieter and more vulnerable; his conflict was more internalized. That might be why even if you watch this video before watching the main video, it feels a little off with the animation. This isn't to say that the Japanese dub is better, as the animation was optimized specifically for it, but I found it interesting the subtle differences in interpretation of Connor's reaction, and both actors did great. Hank was Hank, no other commentary needed. Clancy's raging Hank is universal. Great syncing and audio editing :D you did great tailoring the English audio to the animation

dude I was like "wow the VAs they hired are so good and sound so much like the actual game!" and then I realized they literally used the audio from the game 💀

I honestly forgot that Detroit the game probably already had a Japanese dub and thought Sad-ist just hired voice actors to dub the dialogue lmao

It’s so weird to see Connor as a cartoon as I usually watch cartoon and play cartoonish games and now to see this video with the original audio it’s sorta confusing my brain because I’m so used to him looking real in the live action game.

Lots of people tend to skip the description for some reason. The original animation is by Sad-ist. This person added the audio and gave credit for it.

it's so cute when Hank worries about Connor.. and also when Connor is scared.

Its a small difference, but during the start and the end of the game, connor gets progressively more and more emotion in his voice.

It would be so awesome if someone made an animation like this about their own playthrough. I know it would be soooooo much work to do that bc this game is incredibly long for this, but it would be cool to see an actual "anime/animation" adaptation about one of the playthrough options! I mean I'm am idiot for this kind of art, so I can't demand this from anybody, but it would be mindblowing

I love how the English connects with the animation's lipsync just as well, I thought at first it was Sadist's intention but watching the original again I changed my mind. The emotions of the voice actors plus Sadist's animation is insane! I love their work it's amazing, thank you for making this so we can also see a version with the English Audio. ^^

I really like having both versions of this animation. The original is forever great and SADist did phenomenal work with the animation, per usual. I have to admit, though, that I love that you did an english voice over. It adds so much to it. Thank you!! EDIT: So I realize now that I need to be a little more clear in what I meant. The animation itself was originally done to fit the Japanese version. This person took Sad-ist's video and replaced that audio with the English version. That's all I meant. I like that this person took what Sad-ist did and gave us the same thing but in English. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm going to have to say, I think the english version fits better. Not because of the voices, but because of the dialouge. In japanese (at least that's what the subtitles say) after Simon shoots himself, Connor says "I'm okay" "Are you hurt?" "No". In english, it goes "I'm okay" "Are you hurt?" "I'm okay." For me, it doesn't really seem like Connor was really register Hanks question at all, so he just repeats what he said before, maybe to calm/reassure himself too, that he is alright and he did not die like he just felt. It feels like he is completly in shock and unable to even function normally, so he just repeats it. In japanese, it seems like even though he is in shock, he can register Hank and respond to him normally. This "No" feels like him actually mentally checking himself and stating that there are no injuries on him, whereas the english "I'm okay" feels like he means more his mind/mental stability than physical injuries, and again, like he tries to reassure himself that he's okay. Idk, just feels really different. And god, does Bryan put so much emotion into that scene. Gotta give the voice actors credit for this. Wow.
