Man what a spectacular episode, the despair, trauma, and physical pain the MC had suffered were done so horrifically. Best episode of this anime season so far. This show gets dark real quick 😮 it had me at the edge of my seat, and I can't wait for next episode. They left it off on a nasty cliffhanger.

This statue from hell has a smile that goes beyond the meme. It's very uncomfortable I loved the acting and the voice. It passes despair and suffering very well. Sung is an example that he doesn't need strength to be resilient and capable, even if he lacks strength he can manage... until now

Answer to your question: Yeah if you are awakened as a B ranker ,you can't achieve A rank no matter how much you train, you are stuck at that rank forever. The essence stones does not change your rank but the equipment made by them can give you lot of aid in battles , however the power gap between ranks are too great. so even if you have some top quality stuffs it does not increase your rank.

This whole thing is exactly like a gimmick boss in a video game, or a raid in Destiny 2 (yes I play that game, yes I need help). It’s like a gimmick boss in that there’s no threat so long as you follow the mechanics. It’s also like a raid in Destiny for the same reason as well as in Destiny, boss enemies are often much larger than the player, and on top of that there is often a lot of deaths as you attempt to learn the mechanics of an encounter during a raid or dungeon in Destiny. Then in the anime/manhwa, there’s three mechanics I mean, think about it You have massive statues, people dying left and right, and three mechanics, and if they’re followed, you could follow a game plan that would allow for zero casualties: 1.) Walk in, bow your heads to the statue, triggers phase II 2.) Preemptively position everyone near a statue with an instrument. Presence of single party member triggers each statue. Once one is active per party member, end phase II 3.) Once all party members at the alter, exit opens. Preemptively place party members watching one statue each. Trigger phase III. Statues gain the ability to move when unobserved, flames alight in rings around alter. Orange/red for number of party members, blue for the power animating the statues,. Once all blue flames are extinguished, end Phase three It’s like a game If the mechanics of that room and a “game plan” are followed, there would’ve been zero casualties, and thirteen players Let that idea sink in, manhwa readers And that micro essay doesn’t even touch on why this episode is godly in both its writing and execution

The ending reminds me of the CSM endings. I'm so glad Solo Leveling got an anime after years from reading the Manhwa. There is SO much content Manhwa has to offer. Hopefully they decided to animate Beginning of the End!

To answer the question. Think of everyone who awakens as a hunter as getting a cup filled with mana, no matter what they do the cup will not grow bigger, it is not something that the hunters can effect. there is a limited space that stores the mana and the only way to improve is to learn how to make better use of the mana, that is why hunters are stuck with whatever cup they are given.

Loving this show. It has many layers I think most people miss. Such as the humor of the God for example, when the guy commented on he was getting out and was confident in his speed and tried to run. What did the God leave? Just his feet...the thing he was "confident" in. That this 'Gods' humor. Having layers like that is some crisp writing!

with regard to the magic power that you are granted if you awaken as a hunter, for like 99% of the population, your amount of magic power and rank will never change at all. whichever rank you awaken as is the rank you will stay. however, for a very small percentage of the population, like 1% you can have what’s called a “double awakening”. these typically affect people who were already on the cusp of another tier, say you’re a high b rank upon awakening at the cusp of a rank, there’s a 1% you will have a double awakening and become an a rank. hope this helps !!

I seem to remember that in the manwha it said that it's possible to go up in rank but it requires immense effort and is only possible for those whose power is slightly below the next rank (likewise it's almost impossible). And regarding the A rank, there's no way they will go up to S (at least not by training), there's an abysmal difference between those two ranks.

so basically when it comes to the power, system when a hunter awakens they have a fixed magic quantity and ability, no training will improve said abilities. You are able to do regular training to improve physically and technique wise but you cant raise in rank, only in rare cases where the hunter is on the edge of a particular rank they can raise, for example someone that is at the pinnacle of B rank can be raise to low tier A rank with training and thats about it. There are also cases of reawakening but thats a whole separate matter, hope that helps

About the rank system, each guy had been gifted with different amount of energy. Just like gojo and yuta, yuta got so powerful with his energy pool. They can't upgrade the pool, they need a cursed weapon, etc to fight high rank cursed spirit. And these hunters r classified by the energy pool i think. And high rank technique would require high energy consumption. That's why they cant upgrade themselves

It might not be the most flashy and juicy animation in the world, but this episode gave me lots of hope that the studio will be staying true to the manhwa and the core characteristics that make it great. I also feel like the music scores will play a crucial role in this anime, so much so that they might make it or break it. I am really hoping for some hard-hitting tracks like in Bleach, I think the two stories share a somewhat similar "air" to them. Also, Sung gave me so much Ichigo vibes at 19:28 (of your video)... so badass!

When your powers manifest, your power level if you’re a B rank higher or lower then you’re at that level forever… as far as the magic items… they’re expensive, but they can’t change your power level… but they can help you out… but in the end you’ll still be a B class higher or lower that you were from the start etc etc.

(NOT a spoil) I don't know if you understood what he just said before everyone started leaving. He noticed that the blue flames were a timer and asked everyone to wait because the third commandment is something like "have faith" so he wanted to wait until the timer is over. But everyone was scared, and at the end 21:16 the last blue flame turns off, that's why it said "you have aquired the qualification to become a player etc..." cause he finished all the commandments. Just so you understand that it's not a "thing that came out of the blue from nowhere"

Basically, no amount of training can increase your level of magic, but you can get new gear that increases your strength, and you can increase your skills by training but not your magic level

So the hunter power system works like this: one's a person awakened there power they can not get stronger than that but they can use essence stone to make power weapons and armor to protect themselves and to be able to fight stronger monster then come reawakened person those who have been awaken second time is the only way to get stronger even that doesn't mean that the reawaken one will get stronger it can even make them weaker but reawakened one are really rare and even reawakened one can't became stronger than they are after there awakening

Whatever a person awakens to is the power they are, period. So if you awaken at E, you're just E, nothing you can do changes that. Weapons and armor don't really help with power, it's more about survivability. Remember that normal weapons don't work at all on monsters, so that's why they have to make them out of those stones. It has to have magic power to do anything. If I remember correctly you also have to be an awakened with your own magic power to activate the weapons, so they can't just have normal people fighting with magic weapons, but I could be easily mixing it up with another story.

Think this as a series which shows how an op mc is made from scratch.

As far as the “no additional effort can result in greater strength” line goes means that once a person awakens and gets tested to ‘become a hunter’ that rank will never increase, and more specifically what they measure to get said rank will never increase. To delve further, if you measure at 75 mana and are considered a D rank, that 75 mana can never get higher. You’ll learn of a freak way next episode that COULD get someone a higher rank, but it is extremely rare and no one counts on it. As far as weapons go, yes, you’ll learn a part about weapons around episode 5 or so, but the weapons do not make a grand enough impact on someone’s ability to say “hey, this mans is an E rank, give him an A sword and we got a C rank now.” It’s much more of ‘smart’ move for someone that is D rank to use a C rank weapon (if you know, you know. If you don’t, you gotta wait :D)

The answer of your question without spoiling is just like you read it if a person woke up with B rank no matter what he do he can't level up to the next level and he will be stuck in that level forever..

So in the anime when you see one man was trying to run in full speed and was confident he could escape that big statue fired him and only left 2 leg pieces. But in Manwha the big statue didn't fire him. But instead there were a statue who was guarding the door. That statue killed him with his huge axe. So yeah little bit change here.

When you get a rank, no matter how hard you work your rank will never change. Your magical power might increase slightly but that's it. Having a better gear increases your attack and defense and some stones dropped by magic beast can give you a skill

1:55 roughly to answer your question, the individual who awakens as a B-rank for example will never be able to ascend to A-rank through any normal means. There is a rare way though which will likely be explained in the next episode. As for the magic stones, those are useful for making gear that you can use in combat and stuff though they aren't great but still useful.

I’m guessing if they didn’t leave the circle and they just waited for the flames to go out they would’ve been fine right because the door only started to close when people left the circle so if you just stayed in the circle, and kept their eyes on the statues until the blue flames went out they probably would’ve just been able to walk out of there
