That brings back wonderful childhood memories of Butlins in the late 50’s early 60’s when I was around 6 or 7 watching the redcoats. I really enjoyed the clip.
Absolutely brilliant. There are many 'versions' of this old music hall number, and a great many 'characters' that can be chosen. This version is one of the funniest I have ever seen. Well chosen characters, perfect timing (this is actually quite a dangerous routine), and very, very funny. The guy 'playing' the ballerina has to be my favourite here. His expressions and head movements to avoid the cave lady are hilarious. Well done to you all.
Just brilliant. Ditto have done similar a few times for own U3A show, kept the rozzer, nurse and MacEnroe throughout,this by far the best version out there, ta. Also had a burglar, Air Hostess and updated to a Strictly Star.
We have just returned from a Rhine Cruise and the crew aboard (all Eastern Europeans) did a little show for us including this song with actions. It was hilarious so came home and looked on here to see what there was. Your version is very slick and I love it!!
That's very kind! I admit I did "borrow" from other versions a little.... then I checked what costumes we had and went from there. I actually drew all the moves as stick men on the back of some wallpaper so we could see how all the movements and arms flying about would fit together. I'm rather proud of it (especially the pirate at the end, cus that's me!)
Hi, not really, I played it myself. It's actually two small segments endlessly repeated! The first segment is used once when they walk on, the second is used once when they sing "If I were not upon the stage" ... up to "you'd hear me sing this song", then we use the first segment again lots of times as each person does their part. I think (It was two years ago!)
The ballet dancer is a brilliant addition!! Just getting some inspiration for one we’ve got coming up and not seen a lot of these. Hope you don’t mind if we pinch some!
we did a similar version on a school trip to Fiji when I was in high school, lots of fun, I was an aerobics instructor almost got knocked out by the guy next to me
I watched some "pro" actors, well known names, doing this routine in panto in M.K. and I must say this was brilliant! Much better than Gary Willmot, Wayne Sleep and Barry Orkian.... Well done Grenoside Variety, it was great....

This was so funny. I just saw it with some of my colleagues and we wanted to use it on a Christmas Party for teachers. I could not really catch what the policeman, the ballet dancer and the parking warden are saying. Could anybody tell me, please. I'm from Norway :)

The ballet dancer says "Pas de deux, touch the toes, pirouette around". The traffic warden says "You can't park here, you can't park there, double yellow lines". And the pirate says "Hide it here, hide it there, oops I've dropped my spade". And I was that pirate! Thank you for your comments
