The Star Child's weakness is empathy. While he's too forgiving to be tortured directly, if anyone he cares about suffers, he will suffer even more. The very notion that his loved ones could get hurt distresses him greatly.

SpeakerD, also known as Randolph Carter, the old TTS writer and voice actor for both the Emperor of Mankind and Asdrubael Vect outdone himself in this episode. His Vect lines are like a fine aged wine. Brilliant performance.

As a long-time Skyrim player, I greatly appreciate The Laughing God's "joke" about Skyrim's opening sequence. Waking up in that cart at the start of Skyrim has become a meme to itself. That, and the number of times the game's been rereleased, and apparently will continue to be rereleased into the 41st millennium.

So the big theory about Cegorach’s comedy routine is as follows: The Harlequins, the clown gods followers, go from place to place preserving the histories and stories of the Eldar culture in all performances, no matter how weird those performances are (considering they also see battle as a performance). Cegorach’s performance is meant to capture the past present and future of the Eldar; The senseless abuse and self harm of the first act, the screaming and suffering of their fall and it’s aftermath, and finally the Ynnead prophecy; that the Eldar will be liberated and saved through death, or rather the god of death The harlequins recognise and rejoice in these stories and laugh at how foolish themselves, the Eldar, are

Oh god, so close to the series end. I'm wondering if you'll follow along with their newest project "Hunter: The Parenting" after you're done with Emperor's TTS. It's its own series worked on the World of Darkness universe (Pretty much, world where vampires and other monsters are all 100% real.) but it's amazing how they managed to up the production value on the new series. (Plus you'll easily catch on some... similarities... between the characters in both series.)

Watch the vox logs please. They're not super long like the podcasts, though you should do those as well so you know who Boy is. Also, the weakness is compassion (hence the jokes about its pronunciation). The star child is upset that people he cares about are being sent to their deaths, and that his new friend vect was dishonest. Star child is basically just compassion, only that part of the emperor's soul, so he can't handle people he cares about being harmed.

I like how Magnus is constantly on the receiving end of being prodded and forced to dig up his traumatic past while nobody but the Emperor and maybe sometimes Rogal and Kitten ever notice that Magnus WILL lose his shit if he digs too deep, and when that happens, everyone in the surrounding dimension of the Webway will notice and remember that Magnus the Red is both a Primarch and a Daemon Prince who actively chooses NOT to simply obliterate all obstacles before him. Sure, he can't destroy the Laughing God, but he CAN destroy EVERYTHING ELSE around and be done with the games. Afterall, Magnus IS the second most powerful sorcerer and psyker in the galaxy, only falling short of the Emperor himself.

The Rubric are space marines of the Thousand Sons Legion created when an attempt to save the legion from uncontrolled mutations that threatened to destroy it went very wrong, turning almost all of the members into dust, souls trapped in their power armor, and willless automatons. Of the legion that were not powerful psychics, they became more powerful. Magnus was not involved and banished the perpetrator, Ahriman (originally he wanted to kill him but Tzeentch prevented him). In the new lore they seem to have reconciled, but the vast majority of the legion remains dust. Currently a method of reversing the Rubric is known, Yvrainne, high priesthood of Ynnead, the recently created Aeldari god of death was able to return several rubrics to life, and then threw them into space. The drukhari need to destroy other intelligent beings to prolong their own existence and not be consumed by Slaanesh. But this has its own risks and complications, resistance, leaving the dark city, etc... So looking for an alternative method makes sense (although knowing how self-destructive they are, possibly the internal struggles between them without those needs would probably end up causing them to self-destruct). In the current canon the Drukhari want the Emperor in Comorragh (or a clone of him at least) although for different reasons. The origin and what exactly the Star Child is in canon is answered in the last Horus Heresy books or at least something very similar. The Muses or Dark Muses is something the Drukhari revere. They are not gods (all the Aeldari gods except Ynnead and Cegorach are dead or fragmented or in the case of Isha a prisoner of Nurgel) nor worshiped as such but they are individuals who have achieved perfection in something that the drukhari revere and are seen as worthy of respect. and emulation. Vect recently declared himself a Living Muse, because he has never lacked ego. The Drukhari abduct stars from the galaxy to feed Comorragh into the web, if that means condemning entire solar systems to freeze to death they don't care. Cegorath is performing before an audience of harlequins who are his worshipers, his actors, and presumably share his sense of humor. He has the most favorable public possible. The wratihs are constructs in which the Asuryani place the souls of the dead to allow them to interact with the physical world. Since they have such a low population, not even the dead can stop working. The souls of the dead are also used as advisors, to pilot vehicles, and other activities. The Star Child is literally killing Comorragh with kindness. The Council of Nicaea was when it was decided to prohibit the use of psychic powers in the empire because they were too dangerous. Lelith is the most dangerous and skilled drukhari witch that has ever existed. The closest thing Vect has to a friend. In canon the ritual for Ynnead's birth partially failed so she was born much weaker than she should have been. Yet he can protect the souls of his followers in Slaanesh, give them power over life and death, and manifest an avatar.

Fun fact: the Drukhari can effectively "respawn" after death via the use of torture, even if there is only a small amount of their body remaining.

So, the thing about the Drukhari is that they basically live off of causing people's misery, mostly through torture or sadistic BDSM tactics that... I really don't want to repeat here. It dates back to before the birth of Slaanesh, as this is what the Aeldari were like when they reached a society where all material needs and wants were eliminated. What's worse is that they love doing it. They torture to live, and live to torture, hence why it's better to get slaughtered by Daemons than get caught by Drukhari; especially with their technology that extends life beyond logical reasoning. Which is why when you find yourself in Comorragh, don't ever try to use the furniture... or cutlery... or anything... because it'll beg you for death. And this negativity is basically keeping everyone alive. Enter: the Star Child: the compassion and card of the Emperor of Mankind made manifest. His great power is manifested because this shard is everything good of humanity not hindered by selfishness, suspicion, or disgust. It is pure human kindness, given almost divine power from its origin as a shard of the soul of the strongest Psyker in the galaxy. So, imagine telling that being - that radiant spirit of pure generosity and warmth, that you have doomed the people he cares about to death. It'd be like taking Mother Mary from Baby Jesus: horribly cruel and more than enough to corrupt and hurt a pure and healing soul. Which sucks, because WE WERE SO CLOSE TO DESTROYING THE DRUKHARI FOR GOOD! DAMN YOU, VECT!!
