I'm that single mom with a 3- and 6-year-old. The guilt on both sides is extraordinary. Both wanting to be home with the kids and needing to provide for them through my business income. My kids 100% benefit from seeing their mom hustle for her dreams and mission to make shit happen.

As a mother who raised 3 children do what you love, dont live in regret that your taking time away from your children, by my actions I show them what it looks like to go after my dreams giving them a picture that, you are your only limit.
When you are raised in a household where you are constantly reminded of how old you are and why you are such a loser for not achieving this or that at certain age. I believe the pressure and having internalised this irrational and unreasonable fear and anxiety of age really paralysis you and it's quite challenging to rewire your mind. Eventually, I managed to find peace with myself and pursue my goal which requires commitment and longevity. It goes without saying that I inevitable had to fully cut communication with my immediate family. As much as I appreciate my parents and the endless sacrifices that they have made for me, I don't need that energy as it's not contributing to my journey in a positive way. If anything, it makes me feel shit and puts me in a perpetual state of questioning and self-doubting myself. See you in 10 years! Love you Gary! ;)

Holy shit! I just watched this after telling my husband that I feel guilty giving time to the needs and wants I have but I know that if I give to my needs and wants I know I will be around for more years than if I didn’t.

The reason people can’t buy homes is the down payment part. So if you have the means why wouldn’t you help. I’m not saying pay their mortgage but getting them in the game. This is what’s happening in SF right now.

I will probably never live the life I want and make money doing it...but it's nice to see that someone can. Gary is helping people to live a full life and that's very cool. All the power to him and those he can save. The only problem is that far less than 50% of the people are capable of "making it." I'd say about 10% of us can be truly happy and live full lives. It's a pyramid pattern with bottom part being the widest and containing the most people. This is why there's so much hate, anger, violence, and intolerance in the world. We're fucked...and we know it...so we don't care anymore. It would be great if we could somehow share the wealth more evenly in this world. Because it would make the world a much healthier and better place to live, for everyone. The most valuable wealth we could share is peace of mind. A strong mind that is immune to anxiety and fear is priceless. How we can just share something this simple...is extremely difficult. It's difficult in ways that are nearly impossible to comprehend. That's why everyone struggles with it so much.
Did your mom believe in you early on because you were producing measurable results? Like the 30k you had under your bed in middle school and other demonstrations of business acumen when you were young? Or was it an innate sense of trust that she had in you just because you were her son? Thanks Gary!
@@RIPxBlackHawk I don't disagree about cultivating belief in yourself but this particular question doesn't have much ego in it. As someone that's interested in Gary Vee and his life, I would like to know more. Like it's fascinating to me that his dad sees how successful Gary was in baseball cards but still set him to bagging ice in the liquor store. I'm curious if he had some parallel interactions with his mom. Gary openly says his business is basically taking his mom's ethos and putting it through a bullhorn for everyone to hear. Just trying to gather some more background to the genesis of it all.
