When you eat healthy and meditate and connect to spirit and live as your authentic divine self it completely transforms how you age all the way down to telemeres. You often see older monks and abbots live to 100+ years. Being in a medical profession I wouldn’t be surprised if he also uses HGH, cerebroylsin, or anti aging peptides.

Appreciate this historical lectures have followed Deepak Chopra . Your expression struck me deeply....'"Not Again", seems should denote STILL happening.... I was born 1941. As small children had to hide under desk or table with air raid siren noise in background. Constant political struggles and upheavals. Am 80 now and even more horrific politics. Now possibility of no longer living in a Democracy. Xpresident adhered to "no rule of law," which totally changed Republican Party. Frightening times now in America. Thank you for this wonderful lecture. I'm praying for Hope of peaceful outcome for Humanity on our planet.

This CD has three separate relaxation/meditation sessions on it ru-vid.comUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq guided by a very pleasant and direct male voice. Unlike so many other products of its type, this CD does not have bad synthesizer music, does not feature a phony or affected style of narration, and does not make any bogus claims to be subliminal or to re-train the brain or any of that balderdash. What you get is 1. a guided meditation for getting into a pleasantly relaxed state of body awareness while taking a stroll (superb for those easing back into a fitness routine slowly after an illness or injury) 2. A nice long breath-awareness relaxation session that if followed diligently can put you into very deep states of full-body relaxation and mental calmness, and 3. a buddhist-inspired meditation session designed to help you develop and maintain feelings of loving kindness toward not just yourself and your friends, but toward people you don't even like. The CD makes no claims to be designed for advanced meditators or for buddhists or hindus/yoga practitioners looking for very deep and esoteric stuff. It is geared more toward the average person who just wants to develop the habit of relaxation and stress relief through natural, healthy means. him, if you happen to be reading this, keep up the good work fella, and I love your accent. I would also like to note that I have never fallen asleep while listening to this product. I would like to kindly suggest to the reviewer who said this CD makes him fall asleep, that he might want to get checked to see if he has a sleep disorder, or if he is simply not setting aside ample time for restful sleep at night. A healthy person getting adequate rest at night should be able to go into deep states of mental relaxation without dozing off, if not all the time, then most of the time.

Deepak Chopra is a legend. He's just absolutely whip smart. He's very deep and he has always had the skill to access the current zeitgeist and bring "the news". Some people have called him a sell-out for "pandering" to ordinary people but that is totally wrong. He's been able to build bridges between people and between people and their own higher selves and open pathways to all kinds of people to these greater, more universal truths and principles. It's a lot easier to preach to the choir and we know that by the echo chambers we constantly create for ourselves now that we have these options. Deepak's drive to reach new places and new people and bring new truths and different ways of accessing those truths is astonishing. Meanwhile he's an absolute pioneer for the ages in being *inclusive* in his own life of everything that life has to offer. He hasn't apologized for being human or having an ego or appetites or curiosity and drive to experience all that we are offered as human beings *without* feeling he's going to compromise his loftier understandings and continued seeking for himself. Another thing I need to address is the criticism that his understanding of certain topics is shallow because he expresses himself in ways that are understandable to the average person. Teachers are always doing that -- as did the Buddha, by the way -- they speak to the audience they have in the language that audience understands and is able to build on. The other criticism that infuriates me is that he's always wanting to work with experts in different fields and just generally to shine a light on people who are doing great work in their chosen area of expertise. That is not a crutch he's leaning on as some try to imply -- that is a humble, healthy attitude of a student and Deepak has always been a student as much as he has been a teacher and leader. It's just about impossible in any walk of life these days to have longevity because everyone is craving *something new* all the time, new objects, new people, new fads and fashions. They say people have to "stay relevant" by keeping up with trends and all that sort of garbage (empty calories) which becomes a losing proposition because someone new and something new is always going to come along and win that game just because it is something novel. Yet Deepak has always held his own space without overly catering to novelty and he has never fallen victim on the other hand to this weird thing that society does where people are not "allowed" to change their mind or their appearance or whatever once they are established. Change is called "flip-flopping" in politics that is how demanding the public is that the public figures they love or hate must never ever change -- as though it is some sort of betrayal when it is natural evolution. And the man sticks to his "guns" so to speak. He's totally honest about what he's in to at any given time and he doesn't sugar coat it or dress it up in the latest fashions. How many popular figures have the strength to just say "everything is an illusion" and own it. And how many spiritual/cultural figures encourage creativity like he does. Most of them will advise giving up "delusions" and "fantasies" and pretending there is anything other than the ultimate ground of being? He does and he always has been able to hold human creativity up as our greatest gift and to promote the concept that human creativity is re-creating and re-presenting the creativity of all life, the creativity that emerges from that one ground of being from which everything emerges. He's very traditional in the way he sees all manifestation as echoing and re-presenting the great cosmic cycles while creating their own cycles from the microcosmic to the macrocosmic. He just refuses to put anything in a "box" or put an edge to anything or draw a line between this and that. There is not going to be another Deepak Chopra and it was a magical confluence of events that he was born exactly when he was and where he was and into the family he was and that every single step he took on his particular journey brought him into manifestation of Deepak Chopra for himself and for the world. Alan Watts is another example of someone who was able to bring the most esoteric ideas and truths into the popular consciousness in such a natural and palatable way that when you hear them speak or read their work there is re-cognition as well as revelation. I know I sound like an apologist for Deepak Chopra but in fact I'm just contextualizing him and appreciating him from a long lens since I am around his age and have a historical perspective that most people watching this podcast don't have the benefit of. Hearing about history is not the same as living through it. I have a lot of respect for him and how he's conducted his public life and the work he has done over forty or more years as a public figure. He has introduced tens of millions of people to things they never would have been exposed to had it not been for Deepak Chopra having the skills and intuition to find them where they were,. meet them there and bring them by the hand to places they didn't even know they wanted to go.

(this is more so a note for the future reference I will make with you in conversation, Jay). I want to express my gratitude to you for hosting this life changing conversation. I can't actually describe what it feel like, but certainly I could say I never meditated with the intention of regulating my vagus nerve before! Well, right after I finished watching & listening to this podcast, I applied this new understanding of the vagus nerve, provided by Deepak, in a quick meditation. And, the result was baffling. To quickly summarize the experience in its entirety; I feel like I meditated correctly for the first time & opened my eyes to a unshakeable mind body connection. The practicality of regulating the vagus nerve through meditation, coupled with my more recent practice of identifying my ego, feels like I just shed skin I had all over, to be born again as I merely opened my eyes. And I only spent just 5 minutes meditating. The knowledge Deepak shared in this video profoundly improved my mind body connection. I actually consciously felt the physical benefits to regulating the vagus nerve as I was meditating. It was like I was observing my face unwind like a complicated knot you spent so long trying to undo. It felt like I was inside a robot, standing behind my physical face, inside of my head, and I was telling my body to relax as emotions were passing across my face. After a certain point of resisting emotional reaction, it's like my face just reset. And as I opened my eyes at the end of meditation, I immediately could tell that nearly all the tightness within my body, was gone. I feel lighter. I feel younger. I feel like I shed ego. But I know its not for long. I can feel myself leaning towards my ego by the second and through the sensations I experience. Through my breath, I am not keeping my ego at bay as much as I try to. But alas, I think I'm just beginning to understand mind body connection. Deepak, if you are reading this, thank you. I feel like I just met myself for the first time after drowning under water; for the last 14 years I might add. Also, I cannot contain my eagerness for the day we meet and that's the second purpose to this message. Till Then - Mustavi

Incredible story! Thank you Jay! For such an interesting interview of such an Amazing, enlightening personality. The crux of the whole journey of Sir Deepak is in Unification of all in Love. In my little understanding this is the philosophy of "Wehdat ul Wajood" from Persian Islamic spiritual philosophy. It says in simple words that ," Everything around us and within us is One. And it's all created by one God which is all Love. Love is the Force that creates it all and dwell in all you him and me. So I am God." Hussain Bin Mansoor Halaaj was the famous spiritualist who claimed that , "I am God" and was punished to Death. I am eager to read his new book. Love from Pakistan.

I just discovered your channel and am now a new subscriber because, IMHO, this was one of the best, if not the best interviews of Dr. Chopra I’ve seen. I’ve been a “fan” of his for many, many years, having first become aware of him through his wonderful talks on PBS! I also have several of his books. Though I haven’t read everything he has written, I’m now looking forward to the new offering coming in October. Prior to seeing Dr. Chopra on PBS, study of Eastern Wisdom came sort of loosely through the Theosophical Society. My feet haven’t strayed from that path since. Just in the last several months, thanks to RU-vid, I’ve also been introduced to Sadhguru and Mooji, and I’m so grateful that all of this essential content is available to the masses! Thank you for your contribution by being another source through which this information is conveyed! 🙏🙏

What a lovely, informative, insightful discussion. I’ve become a regular meditator while being a total skeptic and it really is life changing. It’s still difficult, noisy and even painful but the pay off is very real.
