Remember that the game is still a 2 player game so some people will be ready to deal with your parry on their heat engager more than others but this is a good starting point.
Most people are just going finish their heat engager on block into pressure so it should work most of the time for you!
I labbed every heat engager in the game and these are the ones I found that you could actually parry. Some of them like Zafina SCR 2, 1 and Df+4, 1 are both punches but since it's an Azazel claw attack I think it counts as a weapon? Anyways, you can't parry them. And some moves are just jailing like Bryan Db+1+2, Jun IZU 3, 4 and Lars DEN 1, 2.
Some situations you can have an educated guess that they are going to do a punch you can parry like for example after Lars DEN 3 into SEN 2 is a classic flowchart that you can parry. But he could do another move so it's riskier in general.
