Plus it’s a scam. If you’re in an accident with over 600 in damages your not gonna walk away and be done. It’s a law that it must be reported to your states Dmv a law. So when they say you don’t have to worry about your rates going up, yes you do you’re getting points for the accident.
I was in an accident 2 days ago on a highway. The person responsible was in the right lane and hit a vehicle in the left lane, then he turned and blocked me making it difficult to stop so I hit him on the driver’s side rear door. The officer declared the guy was at fault for all of this. He was a German tourist and I was visiting from another state. The other car was local. The tourist was in an Alamo rental while I was in a national car rental. Both are the same company so that makes it easier I guess. Hours later my neck, back, and shoulders started to hurt so I sought medical attention. Since Monday was a holiday, Alamo told me yesterday to call on Thursday because it takes a couple of days for the claim information to show up of the guy immediately filed. They said if nothing is there by tomorrow then I can proceed to file a loss damage report. The officer and national said I don’t have to go through my insurance. I’m waiting to see what the outcome will be with Alamo before I contact AMEX and Progressive. I declined insurance through national.

Don't use Advantage Rent A Car. They charged me $850 for a chip in the windshield that was already there. I wish there was an agency that would investigate them. I notified the BBB and they have over 30 complaints in the past year that all went unanswered. They also have an F rating. BEWARE

But the lady that hit me ran off with her car and I didn't collect any plate no or names. Now Im stuck with a problem I didn't cause. I have a state farm liability insurance though . So sorry this happened. You need to file a report with your insurance company. If the report did not include the description of the other car and driver then you will need to also supply that information. your insurance company will handle the claim for damage to the vehicle you were driving according to your personal policy. If you purchased the additional insurance under the rental contract then that policy should cover anything that your insurer doesn't cover. You will be charged for your deductible. If the other drier is located and any recovery is made against that person by the insurance companies then you will later receive the return of your deductible.
I rented an avis car, while l was sleeping and the was parked, another rental car from a different car rental service ran into my rental car rear. I called avis, and an avis agent showed up at the accident location along with the police. The other car driver admitted fault to the avis agent and the police. It turns out the driver was not insured to that car. Questions, why avis is charging my credit car for the damages until they can get the money from the other insurance car rental agency.
What if I didn’t have my own personal auto insurance, at the moment of the damage on the rental car, but I have insurance now 2 weeks after the rental damage would the cover it due to it being a pre existing damage

So sorry to hear that Osa- places to check for coverage (and make sure to file a claim with any you have) are: homeowners or renters insurance, your vehicle insurance, your credit card company if you used one to secure the rental. Read the rental contract thoroughly and get some legal help to read it for you.
Hi @Steve they are asking a question because the rental company wants information to pursue payment back from you or your employer for 'extra' funds to resolve the situation if that becomes necessary or appropriate or if they think they could do that. With that insight - whether or not you answer at all or when you answer and how it up to you. Hope that helps
FinelyRevealed in researching this, i found out just how important it is to always answer as leisure, you are correct they will deny the claim outright if you declare you were traveling on business. Most employers, including myself, don’t have that kind of coverage.
i hit a uhaul truck that pulled out in front of me...other driver was cited..neither driver nor uhaul nor geico wants to take responsibility. i have medical bills and a lawyer for this...i`m wondering who is going to be sued by the lawyer to pay up?
HI @healthy - this is an easy question for your attorney and should be discussed before the case is filed. You state the other driver was scited which suggests that they blew a sign or ran a light or made some other illegal move. Not fully dispositive of a civil matter, the criminal citation can be used by your counsel. Insurance follows the person/vehicle so they aren't named directly but will follow the party that is sued if they submit a timely claim for coverage. Best of luck to you.
FinelyRevealed thanks so much..i trust the lawyer I have but I don't think he wants to be bothered with questions and stuff because he said give me at least a month after my PT was through. I'm sure it will work out for me in the end but I just have to wait for word from lawyer who seems to not have good communication. but his reviews are very good was recommended by chiropractor

Awkward spin right off the bat. 2. Get to the point please. Bottom line: Call police ASAP. If safe, don't move vehicles. Take pictures, exchange info. NOT in this video but important to know... If you get in an accident in a rental YOU might be charged for OUT OF USE fees (every day they can't rent the car.) This will usually be a non-issue if you paid for their expensive insurance. YOUR insurance will usually cover some of the repair costs but not everything they might charge you for.
@@FinelyRevealed No worries. Also, be sure to stand in a safe place which is usually behind and towards the shoulder. Many disabled cars get creamed and anyone sitting in it or standing near it can get very hurt as well.
