As an adult, watching Vlad videos for long periods of time is a form of depression. If you don't believe me, ask yourself this. Think about the 100 greatest moments of your life. Do any of those moments include Vlad videos? Probably not. And this comes from a lifetime Vlad subscriber.

Doom is honestly my biggest stress relief game. Killing Demons is just so cathartic.

My proudest moment in life (so far) was when I single handed stopped an enemy push in tf2 as an sniper, I took down first the medic and the sniper, after that the heavy and demo died and finally I killed the battle engi and scout, I wasn’t very good as sniper but after that moment I became I joined sniper’s olimpium (I ask for forgiveness for my poor use of the English language)

Video games have helped me through the toughest times of my life. I was overworked to death while I was an essential worker during the absolute peak of the pandemic. I had the worst suicidal thoughts during that time. All these games I played taught me to stay strong through difficult times and challenges.

Playing DooM: Eternal in the pandemic and being so over-stimulated I had to go out for some fresh air is one of my top moments for sure. I think it was at the bit where ye return to his satellite fortress and the Khan Maker takes over it. BFG division played again and I lost my mind.

Dude, you're awesome for how how you did this video. I can love digging into history and learning complex stuff and then play video games and create ideas to write later. As a kid I would rather play video games because I was not social as others are. But gaming is just like movies, books, and other mediums where you can put the bad stuff in life away for a fe hours a day. Or whatever it is one might do. Metal Gear Solid and Halo are two games that strongly influenced how I thought about things as I grew up. HiddenXperia's video on the two games is something I think fits. Same with other greats like Deus Ex. I also got a great appreciation for real life deeper concepts of philodphy, history. and other things from various games too, and that got me further into also wanting to become a writer to explore how I really think. If I was not not the gamer I am, let's just say my life would not have been as good as it is, because one thing gaming in general taught me, is to improve yourself and keep going even when things are bad, and I've struggled with a lot of stuff in my years. I got a disability so i nwever socialized as easilly as others etc. I don't like these disabilities to define me. Gaming is one thing that helped me with that.

Video games are for people who are depressed. I still remember the days when I played CoD and Medal of Honour with my dad on the PS2 when I was a kid, (around 2005-2008) and I cried every time he died. He laughed about it. But we kept playing all the time, and I smile everytime I remember those. That wasn't depression, that was me and my dad bonding over, guess what? Video games! He introduced me to Ace Combat 5, Heat Seeker and Over G Fighters (I love flight sims) and well... What else can I say? Those were some of the best times of my childhood, just me and my dad playing games. Others were me and my best friend playing Battlefield and Capcom classics (and how I always used to whoop his ass). Was that depressing? Hell no, that's me and my best friend hanging out and playing video games and being kids. Now I play games like Wings Over Europe, and I download mods like mad. And I have a freaking BLAST! The dude is really out of touch with reality if this is what he thinks about all gamers

How old you have to be to have 100 greatest moments in your life? Like, 50? As a 17 y/o I can think like maybe 6 or 10 really memorable moments and it's a phase that a lot happens and I only imagine that things only get more stale getting older.

I "think" I have depression. I've been through a lot of stuff in my life, and at halfway through it, there has been two things that have saved me so many times, and they are playing music and video games. School...I hated school. I was such an introvert and was very, VERY shy and didn't have the confidence to stand up for myself, so instead of going full-psyco and running through my school with some artilary, I chose to play DooM - OG DooM at the time I was in school - and I imagined every demon was a bully. It helped me escape from the stress and anxiety of the real world. Sure people were all "what a waste of time", or "why don't you do something better with yourself", or blah blah blah crap on crap. My life, my methods. I enjoy it. Like you said. Be yourself, and enjoy it. I've spent way too long living my life to please everyone else too much. I'm done doing that. Let me have my fun and my hobbies.

nearly 20 years later I still get a massive smile when I remember me and my buddy flying a MI-24 HIND into the deep bowls of an aircraft carrier on the map "Iron Gator" in the game "Battlefield 2: Special Forces" and pwning the entire match from inside the aircraft carrier in an area thats normally reserved for none vehicle combat as players normally never have to worry about an attack chopper in there due to the fact that the slightest fuck up of my buddy in the flying of the chopper or me the gunner shooting anyone who tried to RPG us. Great days! (Pity BF sucks now)

Midnight PSA? I could get behind that. My hobbies are the only time I forget about every negative thought I have. Especially playing DL2 or Titanfall or Doom. Just the level of concentration you have to have to do all the tricks in those games makes thinking about anything else pretty much impossible. Same when I play guitar. When trying to play a 150bpm 1/8th note solo perfectly, I don't suddenly think "hey, I want to k*ll myself." The only things that exist for me in that moment are my two hands and the guitar. My best gaming moment. Back in the days when Transformers: War for Cybertron came out, i played with one other Player in the team, and first i thought the teams are not fair balance. It was us 2 vs. 6. After a few minutes i knew i was right. We absolutely owerwhelmed them. This was so cool 😎

Haven't played a video game for 6 weeks. Depression is why. I work hard and love my job and my greedy landlord has evicted me so he can demolish my house and turn it into 4 tiny places for the same amount.

That ended very wholesome. Well said all around. 10 hours is 2 hours less than some of work days, but that supplies me with living expenses which include all my hobbies for a joyous state to have much happier moments. And yes, moderation is key. Keep up the new turn you have been doing with your videos, reflection in life is key as well. But nothing should be vilified in a genuine life/learning experience. When I was younger, all of my friends (from school) used to play roblox and other games with. But then, most if them decided to stop playing and go to the gym and passing time with people. And I thought, ok, kinda sad cuz I lost some friends to play but they still being my friends. But then they tried to pursue me to stop playing video games because they are a bad vicious, they cause health problems, and instead, go out pass time. Well, after they insisted, I just stayed "You talk about vicious, but I still see more drugeds and alcoholic dying bc of they're vicious than gamers dying bc of gaming (just to not mention that one of my friends is now a drug consumer)

I spend a lot of my life playing games, and I do have depression BUT that’s because of completely unrelated reasons, and to be honest gaming is the only way I can consistently connect with my friends and feel a semblance of joy, if I wasn’t playing games I would just be sitting around sleeping or doing absolutely nothing, gaming is one of the only ways I can consistently not feel utter numbness

An old happy memory was renting Dynamite Headdy and staying up all night playing it. Completely lost track of the time. Another one. My first Doom LAN. Staying up late with friends playing: Resident Evil Games, Silent Hill games, Crash Bandicoot, Metal Gear Solid, Fighting games, could go on. Not to mention all the single player stories that have stuck with me. StarCraft series, Telltales the walking dead, Portal, blood omen. Video games have also been my go to during loss. I tend to get drawn to simple video games during this time. Kirby's Adventure, The lost vikings.

Playing Army Men by 3DO with my dad before he died. Playing the first Mario cart with my siblings before we all grew up. My nephew seeing me as a hero having me beat super Mario galaxy levels for him before he got too old for them.

I felt like worthless sh1t during years , someday I've get inmersed on Dark Souls and I am not saying it is like a magic cure for depression, but I assure I started to feel much better when starting to fight every challenge on the game fighting against adversity in that game was like some kind of therapy, Never ever it will replace a professional but it helps a lot on depression I got the same feeling when beating ultra-nightmare challenges on Doom Eternal, I hadn't had that kind experience on any other doom game (including doom 2016)

Imma be real, these games especially 2016 and Eternal are my go to games when I'm so damn pissed off when I hate someone's guts say for example some guy called me a low life loser, I just play these games and that rage and anger is just cleansed and something of the past. Literally, Fictional worlds, albeit books, movies and video games have changed my life for the better. the amount of personal insight I've found in video game protagonists and others of the sort, have given me the perspective to see life different than I was taught. Games make me find my first best friend, my country is quite old style with all kids and teenagers want to be gangsters like to look bad and mighty. I on the other hand, is type than mind my own business. He caught me watching PewDiePie (this was like 2012 or something), I thought he gonna make fun of me but then he was like "hey, you watch PewDiePie too?" Then it's happen my very first and last best friend. We talk about PewDiePie then about CoD (ghost was his favorite), ghost recon phantom and a lot. He also let me play Fnaf together and we talked about guns because we are soldier nerd back then. Until he have to move away because of his father work, our friendship doesn't even last for 3 month but that 3 month was the best of my life because I got to met my gamer in arms. I juggle a few hobbies… boxing snooker and gaming on my pc. I’ve had depression since I was a child and was diagnosed at the age of 9. Playing through games when the ps1 came out and I got that for Xmas was just what I needed to keep my mind active. My sport hobbies do the same for me, got 2 silver and 1 gold in my boxing league and I’ve earned a sponsorship from betfred on my snooker. I’ve achieved some amazing goals and it all started… gaming. EXPERIANCE. escapism allows us to deal with the horrible aspects of life as well. now playing video games too much in adulthood unless your getting paid for it is a waste of time as work, socialising, excerise and vitiamin D is highly important. but there is enough time to still play games. video games are amazing. the greatest form of entertainment in the world. honestly logically speaking it is. it has music, acting, story, control and visuals that are breath taking. it has the whole set that everything else in life only has a few of those things. only kicker is video games aren't real

SOOOOOOOOOO I'm guessing I've been sad and depressed since 1993 when first doom dropped. This guy needs a life seriously okay gaming would not be in my top 10 or 20 hell not inside my top 50 memories.... But its in my top 100 when I killed my first boss in wolfenstein, Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Red Neck Rampage list goes on. If anything gaming if treated correctly can be a great escape or even relief from real life even for just an hour everyone has their ways of escaping reality just that little bit.

Is this guy for real? I play games to eliviate my depression though the last decade or so it's not as helpful as it once was and it's mainly because games for me at least are more for entertainment than passion. My real passion is cars, doing them up, racing them, driving them but as u can imagine cars are friggen expensive, I'm 3 yrs in and it's still on stands lol, it's been a struggle mostly financially and sometimes mentally, they're hard work but worth it in the end, it's a learning process which makes it difficult but just because somethings difficult doesn't mean u shouldn't do it, it's not far off now and should be on the road this year 👌🤘 It still won't be finished though lol They never are, this is stage 1, upgrades to come over time. Reality is my depression was caused by excessive and severe bullying in highschool and all throughout my life (40 now) unfortunately it's something I've never been able to shake and workplace bullying is so much worse I've found (in a good working environment now with great people), was also heavily bullied by my father as well as physically assaulted and mentally abused by him (he died last year and good riddens, I also cut him outa my life 6 yrs ago, don't regret it for a 2nd.) But yeah they're the reasons why I suffer depression and that abuse and depression drove me to be an alcoholic as well, still struggling with that, I've found the older I get the harder it gets, really been struggling the last few months with it. But lately games like doom eternal at least take me away from reality enough to eliviate that said depression, it's essentially an escape or distraction for a few hrs from the depression. This guy is so rediculasly wrong it's not even funny...
