There is a common misconception on how technology impacts the labor market. The idea that because technology will do our jobs more efficiently we are going to get more "quality time" in our personal lives is incorrect, because that is not how capitalism works. What will happen is that you will be expected to juggle more responsibilities using the new technologies, and your pay might/will go down and with it job security. The trends show that wages have not kept up with productivity. This is no different. There is no reason an employer will pay you the same rate to work less. From the employers point of view, they do NOT think "you can work 4 hours using the new technology so that I get 8 hours of productivity out of you". Employers think "You go and work 8 hours so that I get 16 hours of productivity out of you at the same rate"

Who is this Devin dude and what is he up to now

Pretty demotivating to learn that ai will be taking over engineers jobs while still learning. However, someone needs to maintain them because ai can’t be self-sufficient (yet)

I don't believe in idealistic vision of future where you lay all day in a sunbed sipping cold drink and AI and robots doing your job and stuff. Even if government step in (because no economy can manage 50% unemployment rate) introducing universal basic income in example, most people will be poor af. There will be few percent hiper rich people who own big corporations, some wealth people who work for them or run their own business and the rest - living on a bare minimum. Ofc it's not happen tomorrow or in 5-10 years. That' how I see it and I hope I'm painfully wrong :)
