I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other. I think humans should just ditch concepts like dating, marriage, and pair bonding. I feel like this world would be a much better place without romance than it is with it. In my opinion, romantic love should not be on the highest pedestal. In my opinion, parents and siblings' family love is the strongest. Family knows who you are. Romance is fake for lots of people, put on a false persona and romance on most parts gets ugly real fast. For the reality of romance is no Disney love story. Parents and siblings' family love is one of the strongest types of love there is. If romantic love is actually real, it would be one of the weakest types of love there is.

I have a question. How do males and females bond with each other? I don't see how men and women can bond (especially romantically) with each other. Men and women think very differently from each other. Women can build incredible friendships and become very close to each other in a way men can't bond, and science shows that women can bond very well with each other. Generally, women are even more social than men are. After something bad happens, a woman quickly rushes to talk to all of her female friends to get support, whereas a man can isolate himself and grief alone. Women tend to be more emotionally intelligent, more caring, more empathic, more compassionate, more affectionate, more loyal, more nurturing, more understanding, more sympathetic, more sensitive, more kind-hearted, more peaceful, more calmer, more gentle, more expressive, more intuitive, and more outward than men are, and thus bond more with other women in a special way that they can’t with men. Men, on the other hand, are not that emotional, and thus can’t bond with other men in a special way. Women regulate emotion better. Women are more comfortable being around with other women than they are with men. They have a type of bond that usually men with women won’t really have, or with men and men. Also, girls that are friends touch each other in ways that guys just don’t.

@icysnow57cold64 dude I totally know how you're feeling and I used to feel that way strongly, specifically in the summer of 2021. Tell me if this is correct but I think you're feeling like women can have deeper closer friendships than men and you want that too. I was so jealous of women for the way they have close friendships and emotional connection and I still am a little but not as much. I think it's because I have a close friend that I'm able to open up to, if it were not for him maybe I would still feel the same, lacking deep friendships. For example women talk through their emotions more and they experience emotions in a deeper way than we guys do, like for example being sad or crying for someone they don't know, something I used to also be jealous about. But I feel like I am empathetic but I can detatch myself from people I'm feeling sorry for, which is actually helpful in terms of not becoming stuck in that emotion. Female friendships are different from male friendship. But people just need one close, friend they can open up to and have intimate conversations with. To answer your question specifically, I think the answer is we have to realize that men and women are much more similar than we are different. Men come in all kinds and so do women. There are men who are very close and intimate with their friends, and women who are not. Relationships, platonic or romantic, between men and women don't follow a particular generalized set of rules of how to bond with each other but each one is different and they just bond as people, with their shared interests or values, opening up with each other or just quality time together, getting to know particular things about each other and their histories. The other thing is we and men, obviously this is easier said than done, but we can collectively change in our friend circles to become more open with each other and have deeper emotional connections. Those of us guys who appreciate the closeness of female friendships can be close friends with each other or find female friends to be close to in that same way. So male/female friends and romantic partners can have relationships in ways that are more stereotypically feminine or masculine. We do have the agency to change to be more open, to the extent there's any reason to change. I used to hate the way people dis in toxic masculinity because it's a total generalization of men and there's not similar things we as a society shame women collectively for- we as a group are singled out. Especially because the way toxic masculinity is portrayed is not how men in my life have been (I live in a pretty liberal area tho in the US). Part of it is just shaming men for "male culture" which isn't as emotional and more focused on just doing your work, whatever that is. It's also a little more competitive in some ways. But actually we guys love each other, we do have close friend groups. In some ways we don't need to change, we're just different. although again not that different, men and women are actually very similar. And we also can be proud of the way we are more competitive We also have less drama, and I personally think since we don't lean on our friends as much for emotional support, we are more able to process emotions on our own, emotional independence which is good thing. We're more able to bond with each other by making fun of each other, something I think women don't do as much. We do it in a way where you know something about the other person that you can both laugh about, and it's one of the good parts of that dichotomy. Laughing at each other, especially multiple people in a friend group laughing at something one person said, while knowing that we all like and love each other, really can bring everyone closer together, so long as it's done in a way that is appropriate and that friend also understands. So essentially one, we can have any type of relationship we want in terms of closeness, assuming we can find people with whom we become close with, men or women. Two, men and women are very similar, and we really don't have to put women and "female culture" on a pedestal because they have the same types of problems. Three, we can be proud of "male culture" and the ways we are different, such as being able to make fun of each other more, being potentially more emotionally independent and more friendly-competitive with each other. We guys do love each other. And four, we can change, to be more open about our feelings

We didn’t talk or see each other for about 6-7 years when I wrote him a letter and sent it to his parents house because I figured they’d know where he was and give it to him. 3 months have gone by, has anything come of it? 😃

So ummm... it was going pretty great for a while. Then I asked him if he liked me back (we had started talking because I told him I liked him, and asked him on a date we never went on) and he said he wasn't sure if he liked me back. We kept talking for a few more months and he started becoming more dry when texting, not asking back how my day was and never texted first or asked if I wanted to call. There were a few times he never even responded, but I kept texting for the next couple days, and then he would start talking again. He could never give me a strait answer and as of Sunday he ghosted me again for the 3rd time and I decided it's not worth my time anymore for the 3rd time. Hopefully I last this time and don't text him. If he really does like me, he is going to have to put in the work now because I think I'm done. I know there is someone out there that will put in the effort and really want to talk and be around me. He isn't a bad guy, he is actually a really good person. I just think maybe he is ready or doesn't want a relationship right now, or maybe he just isn't quite mature enough yet.

that's what's happening to mine now. Hes not in my class anymore :( its been 1 year. But i have seen him looking around during break and often seen him looking towards where i sit. At first i thought, he could be looking at anything, like the trees behind me. But once after i had chosen to sit in a different spot than where i usually sit, I saw him looking towards the direction i usually sit in then looking around, but i feel like hat was just a coincidence and that its just wishful thinking 😭

My crush also mimics my actions. She moves when I moves, sits down when I sits down (etc.) Also she waits for me to do something first and then she follows. She also used the same words as me for one of her responses through text. I one time just said "Ah, I see." And 2 mins later she said "I see" when replying to something else I said. I really want to tell her that I like her, but it feels too soon as we've only been friends for at least 3 weeks.
