This game looks more realistic than 2k16 and 2k17! Honestly, I think it's the lighting they used in-game. The courts look slick, the players are alive, there is not so much color everywhere. It's nice, I love it!
Trey Castillo I think they only went all out on this because it was the first game on the next generation console..after that they probably felt content with regressing graphically, it’s a shame. It really looks cartoony now especially on the park, it really started in 16

EA needs to fire whoever marketed NBA Live 14... no gameplay videos after 2K14 is out only a shitty highlight video that looks worse. Everyone is going to buy the safe option of 2K14.
you know NBA Live developers said themselves that it isn't there to compete with NBA 2k14 yet. They want to get back to making NBA games and having their own unique twist.
I'm so happy nba live is back . I'm not going to get live but since live is back it pushes 2k to be so much better ,competition helps alot and I hope live is going to stay for years so it continues to push 2k better
It's never going to happen... The NFL and NFLPA decided years ago that they wanted one company to make their game... So they made EA and 2K have a bidding war... Of course EA being the much larger company won... And to this day EA is still the larger and more profitable company so I don't see the NFL license changing hangs any time soon
Actually im pretty sure the NFL contract is ending for EA pretty soon, like this year, but the NFL hasn't really shown interest in any other companies other than EA; though they do state that they are open to developers. So there is some hope.
Riken They will just have another bidding war... The NFL is about money... EA is a juggernaut of a company and will outbid any one that competes with them... Not saying I agree with that, but that's all that is going to happen...
I've been playing NBA 2K14 one the PS4 for the last 5 hours and I cannot stop, this game is completely fantastic. I think the reviewer was right about the dialog, however I think he failed to address how well written the story is on how you get into the NBA and how everything happens step by step. It is way more thought out then previous generations.
I just watched my dad play this on his Xbox one and the frame rate is HORRIBLE during replays! It dips to about 11 FPS consistently!!! Also there are a TON of bugs in that version.

I'm currently playing Nba2k21 on Xbox Series X & this game may look better than that. I'm just praying it doesn't decline like every other 2k. Look at 2k6 on 360 & compare it to 2k13 on 360
2ks gameplay is amazing 10/10. Career 10/10. Haven't played anything else. Just wish we could go back to the way it use to be in the menu or creating your own roster
Should I get this game? I know i'm relatively late on it, but the playoffs really have me wanting to play a basketball game. I mainly want to play MyPlayer. Is it really cheesy? Or is it still really fun?
My he reason why this gameplay looks so HD and better because it's on a ps4, not saying the xbox one doesn't look as good as this but the ps4 has better visuals and is a more advance system than Xbox
8.9 is a little low. I think its an 9.5. The MyCarrer mode is a little cheesy and forced. But I don't mind the mute. I'm a legend of Zelda fan so I'm used to it and plus nba players don't have a couple hundred hours to voice record. For like 30-40 different players. Live got like a 4.7 I think 2k14 is at least a 9.5. The MyCarrer was the only down fall but barley because that mode is still pretty cool forced or not.
I honestly think that the 8.9 is a little too high. The MyCareer is not really an issue; it being cheesy and forced is hardly an issue. 2k could have easily gotten them to voice act considering that they say about 2-3 sentences every 5-10 games. Comparing Live to this is ridiculous. Nba 2k14 is a good game, don't get me wrong, but the selective physics, horrible AI, bad defense, controls, and servers hold this back from being a 9.5 which is considered between a "masterpiece" and "revolutionary". I would give the game around an 8.5.
its funny because while i had the game, i was always frustrated with the loose balls, animations, servers, etc., but now 2k15 is out. i miss this game. to me 2k15 took a step back, thats just me.

Been a fan of Live, and gotta say I havent touched any basketball game in quite a while. i've always been interested in the economics side of basketball team management, so hopefully as we continue to delve deeper they'll be able to add far more features including building your own stadium, custom merchandise, and the likes. I want more in depth realism in the game that goes beyond the court. I'll be waiting ^.^ but epicness, I saw Live 14 and wow what a face palm, 2k has really done well with this iteration.
Not a single second of this video showed the Xbone version. Why? I looked really hard and never found Xbox controller icons anywhere. Again I ask, why?
I don't give a shit what anyone says, 2K is the most fun game I've played in a while, alone and with buddies. Especially with buddies, it really get's intense when you're 80-80 in the 4th, and you both really get competitive. Honestly, it's the most fun I've had on the PS4 so far, and I will definitely be buying the next 2K. Also, this is the first time I've played any NBA 2K game, and damn I'm impressed.
Could it be that the pc version of 2k14 looks worse? I bought it via steam key some days ago. I set graphics on max, but reflections are by far not as shiny as in this video.
I was not sure if I was gonna buy it but Im like the fact that They are expanding GM Mode one of my favorite modes to play nd my player looks cool to. The street ball with friends also looks cool, IDK I will wait nd check the reviews when people start playing it. Then I will probably buy it.
The game is great. If you're looking for a good next gen game to add to your (probably rather small) collection, this is one to buy. Regardless of whether you're on ps4 or xbox this game is awesome. I wasn't really into sports games but I can't stop playing this!
Now that the MyCareer issues seem to have been fixed, this really is one of, if not the greatest, the best sports games ever. Now to get the NFL license from EA and let 2K bring it home. 2k5 was insane.
There are videos of him dunking with two hands, just look em up. Some players got hops and choose not to use em', O.J. Mayo, Stephen Curry and Mike Conley Jr. are perfect examples.
Hope they make 2k version of FIFA!!! I mean they already dominate basketball game over EA! I am pretty sure if 2k put same effort they put in basketball game, don't see why they can't EA easily!! 2K please make soccer game for the vast amount of people worldwide!!! You would make more money games sold worldwide soccer fans, not only from North America!!!
but they'd be starting from scratch, whereas fifa has been built on year after year slightly improving each time... don't think it would be as easy as you make it sound. plus fifa have all the rights to players names etc which is the main reason PES is so bad.
Question: Have they spoken yet on if another patch is coming? Did they really take out custom roster for MyCareer? and didnt they say they would update courts?
to anyone who has this game would you recommend it to someone who doesnt play basketball games. I like the sport but im more into fifa but since the new fifa 14 isnt worth buying on ps4 I might get this not too sure though. Any thoughts?

Ugggg... I can only deam of another NFL game being made by 2K. EA sucks so damn hard. You can pretty much grasp the differences in these companies when comparing NBA2K14 to NBA Live 14.
Players still look like lifeless zombies for the most part. I would have taken better facial animations over more realistic cloth physics. I am disappointed.

NBA 2K14 looks better on next gen glad the gameplay is the same looking forward to the new modes and how they play I would have liked to seen some legends and how they react and their expressions and how does IGN give 2K a 8 after they hyped 2K as being the best looking game on next gen but in their Fifa review they said it was pretty much the same it gets a 9.
I’m starting to think we’ll never get another 2K as perfect as NBA 2K14 was, 8.9 rating ? I don’t think so i give it a 9.5 . Like i remember having so much Fun playing this game i had to force myself to stop playing it. With all that said 2K20 is by far the worst 2K ever i regret buying it & i believe next year will be even worse; as the pattern only suggests. Every year after 2K14 it went backwards just issue after issue, i’m not dealing with it anymore i’m done with 2K.
