This is the #2 on the list of songs on the indie game, Iji. Great game, great music, and its free. What else can you ask for? Music Composed by Chris Geehan & Dan Byrne-McCullough ( www.hyperduck.co.uk/ )
I can't quite put my finger on why, but this song really gets the message of "kinda green" across quite well. You've been thrust into a post-apocalyptic world in which the only thing to guide you on your new abilities is your brother's disembodied voice. You're a teenage girl with no military experience. If anyone should be doing this, it sure is hell isn't you, but there's nobody else who can, and so the burden falls to you. A trial by fire if every there was one.
Genuinely depresses me that this game is so .... unknown. Like god damn, this is one of the best games I've played, certainly one of the best Indies right up there with Dust and Cave Story. But it's hard to find even other gaming nerds who've heard of it. It's a shame, I genuinely wish more people would try this.
This is an extremely nostalgic song for me. Back in summer of 2012 I was very down on my luck and had little money. Couldn't really afford games or anything, so when I had free time that summer I would download freeware games and play them. It was a lot of RPG maker games, stuff like yume nikki, but one of those games I played was Iji. I remember spending a month just captivated by it and trying to get alternate endings and secrets. This song always stuck with me and I give it a listen every now and then when it pops back up in my head.
I really hope Iji gets a sequel, a remake, just SOMETHING more. It's easily the best free indie game on the internet. If Daniel Remar (or Ludosity) ever does a kickstarter I'll save money and pledge the highest tier in a heartbeat.
Daniel Remar was not part of Ludosity when he created this. He also is not a fan his creation (Iji), he revealed that in one of his comments on forums.
In my opinion this is the song that was improved the most in the separate high-quality download. The solo sounds much more crisp, and the added instrument after the solo stops makes it just a little more interesting.
While the solo is great, I like the rest, the calm part of this song a lot more. Both parts are brilliant, but I'd prefer them to be in different songs so that one could stay dreamish through the whole song withouth having to wake up to a heavy solo.
Hrm, that's weird. Not only is it showing for me, but it also appears your comment was marked as spam within 4 minutes of having it posted. ...Well, whatever. Try refreshing, because it works perfectly fine for me. Hopefully I won't have to re-upload... :(
Ooohh, so close, you were off a little though. Nice try. Please try again. :) I have now made an annotion at 2:00, if thats what you were talking about.
