Ikachan was one of my first indie games, along with Cave Story. Hell, I've even named myself after one of the tracks. (mizuno, lmao) I'm glad you've covered it.
Oh my god someone made a video on this game. I loved Ikachan and I have been playing it since it released on Nintendo 3DS eShop in 3013. It’s a really fun and underrated game.
the atmosphere of this game and the artstyle blend in really well simple in gameplay like starfy and a niche charming game like ecco the dolphin overall a really good underwater experience and the adorableness of ikachan is the icing on the cake
Never got around to playing Ikachan. I really should remedy that someday. Looking forward to the inevitable Kero Blaster video as I really enjoyed my time with that game.
It really is cute and surprised me, especially seeing that it keeps true to Pixel's games having dark undertones Also, can't help but feel like I just "Did You Play This?" Tech himself, haha
Hey Nerdieo! Love your content and it is a real treat to watch! I came to also say that, I've heard that when pixels BBS was still open, someone asked him if Cave Story and Ikachan had any relationship story-wise. He said that they were parallel universes or something along those lines!
Parallel universes?? YO, THIS JUST BACKS ME UP IN THINKING A SEQUEL WOULD BE A WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FIRST GAME. JUST SAME UNIVERSE SHENANIGANS AAA I'm gonna fanboy for a few hours now, haha. Also, glad you enjoy the content! :D

I am curious about your opinion on LA-MULANA. The game that narrowly escaped NICALiS' clutches. Pixel and its dev team, NIGORO, get along, officially supporting eachother's projects. Kero from Kero Blaster even cameos in LA-MULANA 2, LM2 gets a shoutout in Pink Heaven, and they've drawn fanart of eachother's projects at different times.
[Spoilers, I guess for Cave Story and Ikachan] I find kinda funny (or sad) that the cast escaped from one planet's ocean just to hop to an island that also falls right out of the sky They just can't get a BREAK, CAN THEY?
Something else; Cave story is curiously similar to Ghibli's Laputa: Castle in the Sky. Evil educated person who manipulates a search party to find a crystal and rule the world? Yup. Robots that protect the wildlife endemic to the flying island? Yup. Male and female dual protagonists, one of which wears a cap, and and at least one of which wears haram-pants? Yup. Somewhat comical secondary antagonists that end up assisting the main characters before the end of the story? Indeed. They're both different enough, but still so similar that it makes you raise an eyebrow-- Laputa was released in Japan long before development began on CS, btw.
I remember reading this and now that I've seen more media...Cave Story shares a LOT of similarities with the anime Made in Abyss and shares a TON of similarities with...spoilers by the way Sonic the Hedgehog 2
I can't imagine finding an active cave story dedicated channel in 2022. I've only found out about the cave story story thingy and the christmas game from your channel. Please don't ever stop what you're doing. On a side note, will you also be talking about the Geobox cavestory engine that Chris Robinson did?
Don't worry, I don't plan on stopping, haha. I want to make as many videos possible about Cave Story! And I'd love to! From what I understand, though, the project is dead, but that doesn't mean I still can't use it for a video! I've had a few ideas with that project in mind! :D
I plan on at least covering Kero Blaster some day, but I'm not sure about games after that! If there's enough to warrant videos for his other games, then absolutely! :D

@@Nerdieo I love cave story as well as pibby it is a show with mature themes yet having a childish outside. the show is great and has character escaping virus and it is serious not for faint of heart. pibby is great make video about pibby it is a hidden gem good yet scary
