Much appreciated. I have not put any Ikea furniture together in close to 30 years. It made the task so much easier and quicker by following your video. All done. Just need to determine the shelf heights now.
This is a very sturdy shelf. I put a little wet dab of bar soap on the twist knobs and the shelf and it's much easier. There's a rail on the underside of each shelf for anti-sag, and a center front foot for anti-sag. I like it so well I'm glad I ordered two (same price for shipping). I wasn't sure of the build quality, but it's so good that i wish I'd bought the rolling side cabinet also to replace my current printer stand. The powder coating and edges are very smooth. I don't expect to snag any thing or cut my finger, etc. Note that the anti-sag bar under each shelf may take up a little vertical room, depending on what you want to slide onto the shelf below it. I put some other white IKEA storage boxes with only 1/2" to spare. So take that bar into account when you're measuring so you get it right the first time. (I couldn't figure out how to link my previous order to my IKEA account so I can't leave a review there. Hope this helps other people deciding...)
Thank you! One note: the shorter leg is achieved by screwing in the long end into the leg, leaving the short stub to go into the base at the front center leg position. If, like me, you say ‘huh, all my legs are the same length’ and you’re tired because it’s now 11pm, you’ll end up puncturing the inside base once the leg is screwed in tight. D’uh! Sand, putty, paint.
IMPORTANT!!!!!! If you are putting the legs on, make sure you pay attention and put the short one at the front. If you don't, the longer bolt will push through the board!!! (I took notice of this but somehow did it anyway!!!)
I have searched all over the internet to find its weight limit (by shelf) but I haven't come across any information. Would you happen to know? I wanna fill it with my comic books. Do you think it will endure the weight?
I don't know the weight limit but that could be pushing it a little bit since they are sitting on plastic pins. It's pretty strong though I think it could be close but to be certain I'd probably look for something like a metal shop shelf.
Is there a trick to get those little white pegs inside their hole in the boards? Especially the last one when putting the bottom shelf (the one on the middle). 14:11 Help!
