My dad has an ikea kitchen for like at least 20 years and it's still in amazing condition. If we ever redo a kitchen it'll be with IKEA cabinets -- I love the customization.

This is one of the best Ikea kitchen videos I've seen. My Ikea kitchen is currently being installed and like you, I chose Ikea, not only for price, but for all of the different cabinet combinations and their drawer organisers. My new kitchen is probably 90% drawers - its the way forward! Thanks again for this 👌👏😻

Drawers are great for organizing. To add on your point that you have 90% drawers, that’s perfect. I find it helpful to have some cupboards in your kitchen to allow for tall items and adjustable shelving because not all items will fit into drawers. Gorgeous kitchen and insight!

My ikea kitchen was completed last summer 2021. For 3 months we got sick of Ikea bc we were always at the store. Mind you, the pandemic affected the supply chain. Also, we were adjusting our plan/design along the way. BUT I can confirm Ikea's kitchen line is sturdy. We went with all drawers and maximized the use of hidden drawers. My husband wanted the least amount of "lines" and so we opted for hidden drawers. Another thing is that we made use of every inch of our space and planned it so well we had no "dead" panels. It looks like a custom designed kitchen which is the best part of using Ikea.

Oh yes, the supply chain is still messed up! We are getting ready to plan out our kitchen and your message is getting me excited! Drawers are AMAZING! They are so much more useful then bottom cabinets. I bet your kitchen looks SOOO GOOD! ❤️

@@RaeanneDesigns So we ran into the issue with the availability of sizes and despite Ikea's discouragement, our contractor did do some cutting to shorten the height or width. A fellow Ikean I saw at the store said hers did the same thing. So long as there is reinforcement you are good. So our lines are straight across meaning drawer depths are uniform creating less lines and as I said, those hidden drawers are the best. Good luck!

Yess, I am planing to get my kitchen from ikea...and at the bottom I want all dravers, they are the best for everything and you can see things better than in cabinets...and for the upper part I will probably use only closed cabinets, because in my opinion it looks more neat and clean...if you have windows/glass you have to have stored everything perfectly... I will probably go for metod/stensund.

We are planning to purchase an IKEA kitchen. We’re deciding on which cabinet style. Do you know which cabinet style is the easiest to wipe clean? Raeanne, 🙌🏼👏🏼 This is amazing! Honestly you could work run the Corporate office at IKEA. They should sponsor you in your new house. This video completely sold me on their kitchen and all of the options they offer. I got some inspo from all the showrooms and options you highlighted. I don't have the budget to redo my kitchen but definitely making some changes where possible. In your experience have you purchased any items from IKEA that wasn't up to standards? I like their decor, textiles and some furniture but I've had some fails. For that reason I never considered them for a full kitchen install until now. Btw, in my next house whenever that is, I'll have to binge your videos. You gave some amazing tips 😊

Awe you're too sweet! I've had many IKEA products - comfy chairs, dining chairs, dining tables, bookcases, dressers, night stands, pax wardrobe system, cabinets, etc... I've loved everything! Of course some things like black furniture (specifically coffee tables or dining tables) has the potential to scratch easily but so does any black furniture. Honestly, I'd recommend everything I've ever gotten there!

They usually happen 2-3 times a year and run for 90 days! I know there's one in the Spring - usually around April but that would last a while! I didn't see anything when I was in there except some countertops were on sale. I'd definitely keep an eye out and ask a worker!

I just ordered my kitchen excluding countertop and no handles or flooring. All lower are drawers with the hidden drawer. I also have a pantry with a fridge built in. All my appliances have been ordered elsewhere. My total is $10k

you can only get the custom "cover" for your dishwasher if you buy from IKEA. If you already have your own dishwasher, they CANNOT accomodate.

I got them for no other reason than I am going to be selling my house in 5 years so if I am competing with other houses I wanted upgrades that other houses will not have to make my house stand out and get top dollar.

Raeanne, loved your video! I know it’s referencing your old kitchen but for your new kitchen you might want to consider different ventilation with the stove top. It’s not recommended in islands because you normally can only downvent which isn’t the best. It seems like a small thing but now more than ever we spend a lot of time in our homes and there are a lot of studies out about how we (Americans) have poor ventilation in our homes which may be ruining our health. Sorry for the random tidbit but you were so nice and added great value for us for our IKEA kitchen! Take care !

Thank you!! We checked out state's code on the ventilation at the time and it was fine to be in the island. It won't be at our new house since we don't have an island! I'd always prefer to have the stove on a side counter if possible!

LOL! We've lived away from family a few times so half of those moves were to be closer to family (one time closer to my parents, this time closer to my sister). Three times we moved to a different house in the same city - mostly because we thought we found our "forever home" but then ended up having to leave it for some reason. One house my husband lost his job and we were forced to sell - that was our last Michigan house and we LOVED that home 😥

I live 4 hours away and if you design the kitchen using their design centre, the will pull items for you as the come in and put the aside for you. I then had them delivered. It cost a couple of hundred dollars but saved me from renting a truck, driving, load and unloading on my own. For some reason they have some items that are undeliverable therefore I had to go get them. Also when you place the Oder in store, you have to take the items they have in stock with you so please be aware of that. I had a Toyota RAV so I had no issues but I also did not have to pick up 90” cabinets.

Yes it was but we moved it to where a huge master closet was so there was no plumbing there! I want to say it was about $10k to move it to the upstairs, convert that master closet to an actual laundry room, we had lots of cabinets, new floors, butcher block counters, and that cost also included demoing where the laundry was before.

I like your design. However, when you narrate your kitchen design, I really want to see the kitchen with your voice. We have seen your face during the introduction so I believe after that showing your kitchen is very important. Of course, you have a beautiful face. was it easy to install the microwave and farmhouse sink with the ikea cabinets? did you have to make custom cuts?

We did have a contractor help us put everything together. The sink was easy because IKEA sells a base cabinet made for a farmhouse sink. We did have to add wood supports underneath because the sink was so heavy! The microwave we used a base cabinet and basically framed in our microwave.
