Punjabi’s, Sindhis and Pakhtuns never want independence from India. But, Muslims leadership from India including liyakat Ali khan make these society hell. Urdu is never a language of Punjab, Sindh and KPK, but they are speaking the language. I am not against of language, it directly implies the imposition of culture and thinking of something else to someone else

Pakistan never truly believes in democracy and its people. It believes in army power. It cannot survive long unless it focuses on economy. It must need to develop economic relation with India. Look at Bangladesh, it has controlled its fast rising population, focused on economy, education and health of its people once got independence. Where it is now, a mile ahead of Pakistan and parity with India. Despite all political disagreements and disputes with India, its economic and people to people relation with India is inseparable. Nuclear arms or any other arms are not the savior from disintegration of a country. Soviet Union is an example which prior to separation had the largest number of nuclear arms. Pakistan focus on Kashmir needs to be taken off. Otherwise, it will lose further territory as it lost more than half of its population and Bangladesh in 1971.

Pakistan's progress was affected by acquisition of nuclear bomb and its obsession with Kashmir. They forgot their national priorities and wasted its precious resources to defend their country against imagined enemy India, whose priority is to defend Kashmir and stand up to China's evil eyes on its territories. India may not have friendly feelings towards Pakistan, because of its open enmity toward it, however it doesn't want any of it territory and would very much like to have normal relations with Pakistan. If they still aspire to wrestle Kashmir away from India by force or nuclear intimidation, then it will lose another precious 70 years without much progress as pointed out by the speaker of current trends of its graph. Pakistan should come out of denial, develop good relations with neighbors and take path towards progress. Pakistan should stop its search of false Arabic identity and recognize its subcontinental ancestry, because that's where its identity and future lies.

Pakistans problem is that they were always living beyond their means for 70 years because of generous aid of their benefactors like USA and Saudi Arabia and others and when you are living beyond your means you lose your competitiveness and will to succeed and will destroy you because of the internal rife on merger resources and ultimately give rise to religious zealots and fundamentalist policies

It is real fun to watch these confused Pakistanis bicker among themselves. All of them have different perceptions of their country,s making and it's future. Some of these educated types try their best to make the campaign for the creation of Pakistan look more palatable. They feel let down when it is pointed out to them that the country was an outcome of an intense vicious communal campaign. This never ending quest to bring respectability to their nationhood brings out the internal contradictions to the fore all the more. You could see that from the hostile response of a large section of the audience. Most don't want to admit that it was an Islamist campaign disguised as a fight for minority rights. The support for which was mobilised largely thru appeals to religion. "Pakistan ka Matlab Kya la illah illal la" was the main slogan of the Muslim league in mobilising communal support. Therefore the nation created on the basis of Hindu hate cannot be expected to be anything different from what it is today. One has to see the dwindling minority population in West & East Pakistan immediately after Partition to understand it. It is laughable when Pakistanis frequently quote Jinnah,s 11 Aug 47 speech to show him in a positive light. End of the day one can only conclude that Pakistan movement was a mean minded self centered campaign driven by a deep sense of inferiority complexes via v non muslims. Muslims heart in heart knew they could not compete and stand a chance in a United India with dominant Hindus in Jobs, education & business. This is the real truth behind the causes for Partition.

@Navin Shetty - Wonderfully and succinctly stated. Their delusion persists till today. And even-though India is many times their size - they still think that they ought to be treated as equal. How can they ever be equal? Can India say that it equal to China? Can India say that it is equal to the US? But if India was run by Pakistanis - we would believe we were. That is the nature of their delusion.

Very true. Just to add to your concluding thoughts that for their fears on their inability to compete for jobs, it’s Muslims themselves that are to blame for not engaging with the English education system since Sir Syed’s time. While Hindus adopted modern education wholeheartedly, there were hundreds of fatwas issued against Sir Syed. Has the mindset changed in the 70 years since? I don’t think so.

For 30% Muslims Jinnah asked 50% reservations. Congress had committed Muslim leaders and workers and Jinnah insisted that the Muslims should essentially be in League. No, Jinnah could not include all Muslims in his party. He wanted Congress and colonial rulers to make this possible. Colonial rulers helped Jinnah in the direction but incapabilities of Jinnah why Congress should co.ponsate for that at the cost of the welfare of the people of the subcontinent?

Ishrat Husen try's to have both ways. Hindus once wanted Akhand Hindustan so that Hindus can rule over majority Muslim provinces and then Hindus wanted division. We are told that Jinnah wanted one India! They ditch all authors Brits, Indians. In congress manifesto find anything about two nation theory! Under lots of pressure applied by both Brits and Muslim league, in 1940s congress started thinking about inevitable fact of division.Pakistan who wrote about division. They forget direct action day and riots. They blame RSS but congress leadership decided on how to divide. RSS or hindumahasabha members were not in any commissions. Mostly civil servants, congress leaders and Mt.batten.Both countries were unhappy with details of division. To the last Indian leaders thought division won't happen! Even Pakistani leaders were surprised when impossible materialized!

Dr. Ishrat Husain himself been Central Bank Governor and have been on policy making positions in respective governments in Pakistan. He is talking as if all these picadements Pakistan is facing are result of some one else responsibility. Whom is he, therefore, complaining of failures which are nothing but the products of people like him. It is shame for Dr. Ishrat Hussain if admits by giving example of Bangladesh that Pakistan is even behind that, as he cannot absolve himself for being responsible making Pakistan economically and financially ill and taking it bacj on all fronts.

Till '90 India was a 'crippled'state. Very well said. Obviously the man does not know about. the green revolution. The tremendous progress India made in science and technology makes it cripple? The financial institutes were nationalised, which enabled India to remain unaffected during 2008s depression. Pakistan does have a dearth of learned persons, but it is strangely where learned people are sitting together there also some genuine Pakistani can intrude
