I was in this show in 6th grade. I was a “brainiac”. I fell off the stage opening night. Stopped the show for about 5-10 mins. The entire cast just stared at me from onstage. Fun memories.
@@angsilaw Unfortunately there isn’t any recording of the show at all (at least that I know of). I wish there was. It’s a funny story to look back on. Oddly enough, a fell off a set piece of bleachers during a blackout in another show roughly around the same time (within a year of the High School Musical incident). At least no one saw me that time. 😂 Edit: I just realized that we had changed a few parts of the script (East High was changed to the name of my middle school and a few other small changes). That’s actually against copyright and our rights to the show could’ve been taken away, so maybe there is a reason it wasn’t filmed.
I think the one that stole the solo was Kelsie (girl on stage left with a red shirt and black hat) at 8:41. You can slightly see her chin moving and the girl next to her quickly looks at her just as the singing begins. You can also see how she stops moving, possibly because singing as loud as she did would require her to be more tensed than she was before? It's not concrete, but she is certainly a suspect
I mean tbh, all of the people who are playing the main characters are pretty tall, I’m guessing this is like some elementary school production K-6th, possibly 7-8th graders in here too, plus the adults playing teachers or whatever.
My school is doing high school musical right now (senior one) and I've just been cast as Troy. I'm really struggling to see how I can live up to this guy, it's just breathtaking to behold such a fantastic performance.
@-Preppy.Sunny- don't be, you'll have an incredible time. I never thought that 10 months ago when I commented, that I'd be left with so many great memories of the show.
I died when they made the dads who lifted Ryan stay on the stage and do the rest of the “all in this together” dance 😂 😂 just these middle aged men dancing to high school musical 😂😂
8:59 The actor playing the Gym Teacher (who I assume is the school's actual gym teacher, the school's principal/vice principal/counsellor who insisted being in the production or a student who was held back like 20-30 times) is the best part about this number
WHY WAS THIS SO FUCKING FUNNY OMG edit: Jesus I don't know what's funnier - this entire thing, or the fact that people are just going BALLISTIC at the end even after everything they just witnessed
My Dear God. Thank you for giving me a reason to go back to working on this show. I'm in a production rn that got postponed. I hate the show. The writing sucks, but when that kid can make that line bearable somehow...I think this could work lol.
@@AddisonRachel Pretty good actually HSM ended up cancelled, but we did some one acts and All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten instead! Both good! 10/10 and mostly socially distant :D
The fact that the final hop of were all in this together was not on the downbeat was somehow the thing that made me most infuriated in this whole video
In the defense of the auditions song (2:59), it's supposed to sound terrible for comedic effect (I should know this as a current Cathy, aka the one who sang it like a really fast golden-age number). Luckily for this cast tho, they didn't even need to create a fake terrible voice. It was already there!
shout out to the two adult men I only noticed in We're All in This Together, who I'm pretty sure we're only there for the purposes of lifting that child
LMAO im doing this musical in my school and the show dates in one week im so glad weve been practicing for the last 5 months and actually have good choreo 😭
God, they really said: “There are other boys who are better at singing, but this one is black, obviously good at basketball, so he’s gonna play Troy.” (I’m black btw)
My school recently did a production of High school musical and I played Taylor and I just have to say watching this video was a very “interesting” experience…
I just helped direct a production of HSM and keep in mind a ton of these moments are just. in the script. HSM: on stage’s script is really really something. Least favorite line: “written by red hot composer babe kelsi nielson” The stage directions are also all written using figures of speech which isn’t really something very normal, stage directions should not be show not tell If any of you have any questions about if a moment is *supposed* to be like *that* just ask lol
