Hey Freeman, great video! Quick question though. CB puts the cossack revolts in the 1450 - 1750 time frame but your example was in the 1770s. If CB gave students a question about resistance to state power in the Early-Modern period and a student wrote about the Pugachev revolts, would they get credit? I was always under the impression that CB was pretty strict about that kind of stuff

There’s always some leeway on the time constraints when they give them on essays and stuff. Also. They don’t stick to those. A question might say from 1450-present. Or. They can throw down some “circa” stuff too. But. I just wanted to illustrate the MOST FAMOUS example. So. I picked this one :)

YES AND NO. THE COSSACKS WEREN'T BLUE SKY WORSHIPPING CONQUERORS. AND, THEIR LIFESTYLE ISN'T SO MUCH A MONGOL THING AS IT IS ANY OF THE STEPPE WARRIOR TYPES WHO HAD LIVED SIDE BY SIDE WITH RUSSIA.

I timed your contextualization starting from when you actually begin covering the historical background, I came up with 53 seconds. Stop including the time you use to explain where this all fits into the curriculum sections, that doesn't count! You're being unfair to yourself. :)
