i doubt i die more then 100 times tbh starts tomorrow 10am pst: www.twitch.tv/darthmicrotransaction pc here: x.com/DarthMicroT/status/1797774765111079381
Hey man, do you know if PoE2 will have mouse and keyboard supported for PS5? Im too poor to buy a PC that could run it but I could manage getting a console. I cant find this answer anywhere, thought maybe youre in the know. GL with Elden tomorrow!
You have your own positive energy that just naturally draws people in... could not follow through with D4 after finishing it solo but maybe just maybe PoE 2 could ripp me out from my survival build games for a while. Looking forward to seing you playing the Elder Rings. Make sure to order a good burger and a good smothie to dip in between the frustration of constant drain on your wallet btw Also just enjoy the game your way and bring the fun for your viewers and do not bother with the trolls. Troll your way through it XD
First playthrough was over 100 hrs for me. Dad gamer on a few hours a day. Kept my ps5 offline for almost 3 months hahaha ( so I could say I beat it on day 1 patch)
@@canceracar As a game should be played, I don't understand the obsession with peolpe rushing video games. It's like paying to see a movie in the theater and you pull out your phone to watch a RU-vid spoiler video and leave.
Just do what many other streamers, including Josh Strife and Asmon do, tell the audience straight that you intend to play the game as you want, not how they want.
It should have always been that way from the very beginning, I'm just gamer dude, I'm not looking to be professional, I just want to have fun, no one will ever take that from me. I don't mind constructive criticism, but don't tell me how to play the game, I will figure it out on my own, because that's the fun about games.
I think you can find a middle ground. Here's the thing about Asmon. Sometimes the audience has legit good advice to HELP him (I don't see it as backseating, it's people who legit want to help) when he gets stuck and yet, for no other reason than his pride, he keeps saying no. Sure, he can/should play how he wants, but seeing him try the same thing for 10 hours over and over and over again... it can get unwatchable. And a streamer's purpose is to entertain the audience. Otherwise, why is he playing with an audience. So, on one hand, I respect doing your thing, but on the other hand, there should be some flexibility.
@@octavianpopescu4776 I would argue and say, the only time the audience should be allowed to give the streamer advice is when they ask for it, otherwise, you can easily just mute the tab and watch someone else. I get that some people genuinely want to help but there's a point at which you have to realize, yes, they are meant to entertain an audience, but there are plenty of other streamers who don't necessarily do that. It's their stream, as far as I'm concerned and I don't go out of my way to help someone unless they ask for it, and if they don't, it's fine, I have enough respect for the streamer to not blow up his chat with unwarranted advice when they never asked for it. It's not about pride, it's about just trying to teach himself what he's doing is wrong and finding out how to do the thing correctly without asking for help. It has nothing to do with pride, if you know him at all you'll know he's not prideful, he just doesn't like asking for help. I'm not being mean or hateful here either I don't think, I'm just putting in my two cents.
@@MrLu4o Honestly, Godrick is the only major boss I beat on the first attempt. The ones who really bullied me were Mohg (the palace one, not the sewer one), Godfrey (not the golden version) and the final fight.
I played only DS3 prior to Elden Ring and I think my death count was under 50 and most of them were from fall dmg and Malenia. Then I died 50 more times trying to get the Frenzied Flame ending ☠️
@@MrLu4o It makes sense. We all have some boss that for some reason is harder. I noticed this with From Soft bosses, there's some bastard somewhere that has some attacks we can't avoid/parry. And it's a different boss for each person.
5 years later 😀 But now seriously, it took me around 1 month to finish the game and I didn't git gud at all + I had work and other life stuff to do. I think, depending on how much he plays and how he plays (does he want to get on every perch with a shiny item in a cave and he runs around for hours to find how to get there, like I do?), he can do it in 2 weeks.
I literally listened to no one before and while playing Elden Ring for the first time. I wanted to kill the same enemy 1000 times, I did. I killed my first boss after about 6-7 hours of just running around, killing stuff, leveling up and simply exploring the world. There shouldn't be a rule to how someone plays a game. It's your money, your time, have fun, man.
The best way to play ER and all Miyazaki-era From Software games is completely blind. Figuring out the systems, weapons, spells, etcetera work (and don't work) on your own is a huge part of the experience that often gets overlooked.
@anubrakahn2970 a can sort of understand that some people have busy lifestyle and just want to experience the end game with some of the better quality of life shortcuts but if you have the time and enjoy gaming you should always try to figure out the game yourself and and make the most of it.
Bro FUCK the viewers opinions. As a long time souls enjoyer, I would MUCH rather have a new person use every broken thing in the game and LOVE it than be miserable because of what chat says
I agree. If he wishes to play a faith build or to use the most op weapon in the game, he should do it. The Souls community can be very annoying with their purity and their thinking that if you don’t play it with the hardest build as possible you’re not a true Souls gamer. I personally play it with the most broken build ever and I’m enjoying the game much more than my first experience where I basically rage quit. Lol
You are the man, Darth. Mute the chat, kick back, and play one of the greatest pieces of artwork ever created... You deserve it brotha!#elden ring #rise ye tarnished
Excited to see your playthrough! You shouldn't worry too much about what any souls fan has to say about what you're doing just use what's fun to you hope you enjoy one of my favorite games!
Just stumbled upon you a couple days ago man you got me into D4 after not playing since D3 😂 love this idea stay true to what you like man whatever the top comments say that are nice ❤
DM, brotha , my man , I ( for one) will watch your content regardless man.. luv your stuff! I am committed to watching your playtthroughs whatever you play! Just enjoy!
This is a very bad idea xD. Some people die over 100 times on a single boss they get stuck on. I know ur a gamer but man this is gonna be nuts lol. Maybe once every 5 or 10 deaths? Idk good luck!
The best advice is to change _how_ you play. ER isn't an action game. It's a timing game. The problem is people have been conditioned to charge into every encounter and how hard it is for you to _unlearn_ that directly controls how "hard" these games are. I grew up in the 80s so I'm used to it. ER isn't hard on difficulty, it's just brutal on punishing impatience. Once you learn to love that dodge button and stop thinking you can get through mundane encounters quickly the difficulty drops a lot, even for new players.
the games not that hard lol. my first run i died maybe 60 times. how ur dying over 100 times on one boss feels like ur just not trying to learn and just throwing urself at a boss until you randomly beat it lol.
Indeed. That bastard made me set the game down for a few weeks. But I got him eventually, with the help of the greatest warrior jar the lands between have ever known.
No boss killed me more times than the initial Haligtree level lmao bc a) im a paladin build, and b) my completionist mind wanted to see what each item on every branch was and what the big bubble blower boi dropped
@@nikolaijust3002 Hahaha i feel you 😂 First playthrough I was on these branches for so many hours, then I had enough and I couldn't manage to get to the main area, it was painful indeed. Countless deaths from falling off these branches. On the third playthrough I thought Oh noo it's that area again 😅 and I ran through to the main area first try without any issues. That made me laugh so hard.
Going into ER blind was so fun because every other weapon I found was my new favorite. People who look up guides and cheeses so they can get the best gear without thinking, planning, or trying are missing the ride, like they don't want to Experience the game so much as get it over with. For better or worse I've never experienced so much indecision in an RPG as far as what and how I wanted to play, but if you're attentive and reflexive you can make gold out of anything you find.
Watching Elden Ring play footage is the BEST!!! I am stoked for this!!! Play it anyway you choose, use summons, use cheese. The game is hard AF first time, but fun AF.
Yeah, you're not the only streamer I know who got turned off of streaming Elden Ring because of the community. You really gotta turn off Fun Streamer and turn on Selfish Streamer mode to play it. Eff the community. Don't let others stop you from playing a great game, regardless of which game it is.
You do not gain health by leveling. You only gain health by increasing your vigor stat when you level. You get the best bang for your buck by increasing vigor to 30ish right away. You will eventually want 50 to 60 vigor, no matter what build you try for. Your main damage increases early game will be from upgrading your weapons. Because weapon scaling with stats increases as you upgrade your weapon, putting points in strength or dex early gives a weak return. Much better to increase your health pool and survivability from the very start. Only increase str/dex to meet the minimum requirements for the weapon you choose until you are in mid-game. Minimum required str shown is to one-hand the weapon. Two-handing the weapon treats your str as +50%. So if a weapon has a minimum str of 20, you actually only need str of 14 to two-hand it (14 * 1.5 = 21). Hope this helps. Good luck DM!
Good to hear they've made PoE 2 clearer to understand but without losing depth, it looked way better on that recent console trailer with all the tooltips explaining what a mechanic does, which is a huge problem in PoE. That's probably one of the things that i'm most interested about.
You my favorite streamer that plays games . Super humble . Seem to be a genuinely good dude , I've only seen you not upbeat and positive maybe once and even then you were gracious and kind so dude keep doing you , do what you enjoy , enjoy what you do, remember why you started streaming and know this , any true fan/friend / viewer of yours is going to be happy with whatever you're doing or game you're playing as long as you are happy . Big facts
Bro, one of the things I love about your content is that you explore builds and don't let chat influence you. Don't let chat Andy's bully you. Keep doing you bro.
Very interested in watching your gameplay on this. Experience everything you can on your own, don't listen to anyone and just explore. Die, relearn, repeat. It's a hard game but rewarding!
Hey man, I just think you do good content regardless of the game. I was here for the D4 content, but it doesn't matter what it is. Your commentary is great.
Not sure if you have mods but taking a “no backseating” approach will 1) make the game far more rewarding to play, and 2) greatly extend how long it takes you to finish the game thereby increasing your income because you’re obviously just fishing your audience for content 😎😃. If you have a mod in the chat that removes any hints/spoilers it makes the playthrough so amazing. Grubby is a recent one who did this which I e thoroughly enjoyed to watch
Don't treat the souls game like a multi-player game, the community is so damn dunce with their arbitrary rules. None of said rules about builds or honor ever restrict the weapon upgrades but want you to have a certain vit Stat. Essentially all pvp builds are only valid if you are running some dumb glass cannon build. As far as I'm concerned Ellen ring and dark souls are single player games to occasionally play Co op with a m8, the community is just trash.
Why ban for backseating? Let people give suggestions and choose what to take or leave, without banning anyone. He'd still retain control over what he does and maybe, just maybe, the audience has some good ideas.
I wish you luck on the play through it’s an excellent game and the sub idea is probably not a good idea due to how unpredictable things can be sometimes
I would play it similar to how Day9 streamed it - 0 spoilers or backseat gaming unless specifically asked, and he just did whatever he was drawn to. I’d either do it this way or just play it off stream, it’s that good.
If you play conservatively you won't die as much. Also, Souls game are not necessarily hard. You can fine-tune the difficulty through farming or using determined consumables, a safe build and so on and so forth. But the game is a masterpiece. It's a testament to videogames as a media and everyone that enjoy gaming should give it a try. I'm really glad you're doing it.
Why not? In case it's about the difficulty, I'd say the rumors are exaggerated, at least in Elden Ring's case. It requires you to be attentive in the moment and not to underestimate your opponents, but other than that... you bonk them and they die. And one thing about the difficulty is... it felt fair to me. Because it wasn't the result of "enemy has 1 trillion HP", but it was the result of whether you were careful or not, were you greedy or not (don't try to hit them more than twice). I finished Elden Ring and I'm definitely not a god tier gamer. I'm a casual who likes to play all games on the easiest difficulty. If I can do it, anyone can.
Don't let "difficulty" keep you from playing them. You just have to understand _HOW_ to play them. If you try to run in headfirst that's usually rewarding in most games you're gonna have a really bad time. If you really _enjoy_ that type of game, then yeah, you won't like this. It's a slow methodical plod through pattern recognition and memorization. It only gets punishing if you get _impatient._ If that doesn't sound appealing then yeah, you might not enjoy this.
Elden ring is the first open world souls like game and it plays really well playing it as an open world rpg. I would say play it how you want, explore what you want, and do what you want. Towards the end of the game (the game will let you know when you're towards the end if you listen to the cutscenes) I would probably ask chat if you missed anything or missed any locations to go to so you can really experience everything if you missed something. Not sure if you've played the other souls games or not but like in them, elden ring does also have npc quests you can do if you desire, they are not mandatory for completing the main storyline but you can get unique items for completing them.
The key to have a good time playing Elden Ring is… ahem… PLAY HOW YOU WANT! Don’t let anyone get to you with how you play. These games are hard but can be learned so thoroughly that you CAN beat it with a spoon and no armor and no levels. Don’t do that and don’t let anyone say you suck if you die. You will die. A lot. They did too. Cheese stuff if you want. Try to beat stuff even if it’s too hard. USE A SHIELD (that’s a lot of caps. Sry lol) if you want. Or don’t. That’s what makes these games so good. There’s a million ways to do it so find what you like and screw people who say something is for filthy casuals. They don’t matter, only you matter in your play thru. I didn’t meant to write an essay here but it’s important. Enjoy Elden Ring
Hey DM, I'm an old man and I 100% the game. I know you can do it. This game gets better the longer you play it. Just remember just because you have access to an area doesn't mean you belong there You will die many times but the stronger you get the less than will happen. Nothing feels better than go back to a boss that wiped the floor with you before and completely destroy him or her. Have fun, don't get to sweaty with it. Peace young man, stay safe in Alaska.
Putting your wits to the test, and wondering what number you have in mind, deaths-wise :P I am sure you'll grasp it well enough, it's moreso just exploring and figuring things out as you go, just as everything else :) Have a grand time! Can't wait for PoE2, definitely!
Man that bit of feedback about the souls community makes me so sad. Obviously not everyone is like that, but I do see it like, a lot....even more than some other gaming communities, and that means there's a problem. I'm so glad you're going to give it another shot and I highly encourage you to simply let your mods timeout anyone that is negative or backseating so you can simply enjoy the game, because it is an incredible experience that everyone that's interested should be able to experience without the shit attitudes of some gamers. Also, just FYI, I think the average gamer dies something like 30+ times per boss. There are ~160 - ~240 bosses in the base game, depending on how you count "bosses." While you only need to kill less than 20 of them to "beat the game" obviously, as an open world game, you are encouraged to find and beat as many as possible for their helpful rewards or achievements. So I'm just saying....This could be a $20,0000+ endeavor my guy
Souls games are a different beast from things like Diablo or PoE. I think you'll really enjoy your experience once you get used to the game. Good luck DM!
Oh man, I haven't watched your stuff for awhile now. Was considering checking your channel again (just took a break from youtube in general). I will definitely watch you play it. Just to see what build you do, don't worry, use summons, ignore the elite fanbase. I just hope you upload Stream Replay on this channel, as I don't know if I can watch it live (I live in UK)
Git Gud or Git Broke. lol I still gotta finish my playthrough. I don't even know what the heck I was doing, but I beat a decent amount of bosses. My favorite part about playing at the same time as my friends is we all went different ways, and kind of talked about the spots and things we found. It's a good game, and I will log back in again eventually.
We've lost him haha; God forbid he Mods. Some of the greatest moments I've had in the last year has been ER and the mods like ERReforged, Unalloyed, and Convergence. Please I hope you enjoy yourself DM! You could even play with your viewers with Seamless Co-op!
Crazy how people talk about how PoE2 having couch co-op where you can both be in your own inventories at the same time as if it's ground breaking. We could do this on the Gamecube on Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance
Just do it in your pace. Dont worry about anything. You have the chance in elden ring to make the game "easier" if you want or need it. I played my first run in 140 hours with my best friend and we played random shit and had so much fun !!! I hope you enjoy it because it is just awesome (: Love you and wish you the Best ! ENJOY
I've never played elden ring but I loved your idea. But. Maybe there should be a learning leeway space of the first two or three deaths. Don't count. after that. Then you put the sub- sanction on yourself. Just trying to help
Everyone on the planet will have a twitch subscription by the end of this game. I highly recommend you put some kind of cap on this, DM. This isn't a comment on skill - this is just how the game works.
I never liked the souls games, but Elden Ring... oh boy. My favorite game since decades (yes, I'm 52 and have been gaming since ancient times). Enjoy it, play as you want and just let it pull you in... while beating you to death of course. 😉
i played almost every souls, me only advice about playing any souls game, is never ever let some one tell you are playing it wrong. is your purchase do whatever the fuck you thikn is fun.
