IMAGINARY Movie Review + Rant 

So, I made a joke in here that anyone who says they liked this movie must have been paid to or something like that. Just want to make sure you know I'm kidding! No disrespect to anyone who enjoyed this. My brain was hobo lasagna when I made this.

The fact that there was only ONE KILLS in this movie says something else, and this is supposed to be a HORROR MOVIE. The FNAF Movie had more kills than this is not insane but not shocking at all.

On the Imaginary trailer on RU-vid here, I left the comment that said, and I paraphrase myself: "Imaginary is a fun movie, just don't expect quality out of the writing, narrative, or even the characters".

I thought Imaginary was fine, not the best but not the worst either. It certainly could've been better but I still liked the story and the characters. There were quite a few nods to stories like Alice in Wonderland, Coraline, and Labyrinth which I thought was cool. For me the new Mean Girls is the worst of the year so far

Blumhouse has been releasing a lot of shit in the past couple of years. The problem is they’ve gotten too big so they can pretty much get away with releasing anything now.

I like imaginary because I believe there is some reality to it: there is demons that pose as friends to lonely people and their sole purpose is to kill them eventually. I know of people that say they have imaginary friends which may or may not be demons, because it can also be a very vivid imagination but with children the line between fantasy and reality is vague and demons can abuse that.

Mike, I’ve been a fan for so damn long, and THIS review had me laughing my ass off! 🤣 I have the Regal Unlimited plan where you pay $21/month and can see all the 2D movies you want; there’s just a slight upcharge for all the premium formats (except for RPX, their in-house version of IMAX, though they do also have IMAX, as well as ScreenX and 4DX). So yeah, I was seriously considering seeing “Dune: Part Two” and this soon, along with that new Kristen Stewart film “Love Lies Bleeding”. And even though I have Regal Unlimited, thank GOODNESS you’ve successfully dissuaded me from seeing this dumpster fire! Holy shit! I cannot believe that Jason Blum is just deciding to follow this sanitized horror template lately. It really is appalling. And not only is it appalling for the genre, I suspect this type of “horror” film is also drawing in the theatrical crowd that won’t get off their fucking smart phones or shut the fuck up during the movie - I’ve had that happen far too much with PG-13 horror over the years. Not a lot, but often enough that it boils my blood. Anyway, thanks again for being kick ass and helping me (and all of us groovy fuckers that dig the hell out of all that you and Jay do) avoid this trainwreck of a film. Keep being awesome and then some! 😃❤️

Night Swim wasn't that bad. I've seen way worse recently unfortunately. But he's right about Blumhouse and big thanks for the review as it saved me several hours of my life.

Whenever I watch a bad horror movie I compare it to the worst one I ever watched in my whole life (Open House on Netflix). Imaginary was still better. Solid 1/10.

It was really bad, but I was just looking to kill time. I knew it would suck for sure going in. I laughed when u said the teen kid always hates the house - and it is always a huge amazing house haha

This is why I’m hesitant & apprehensive about going to the movies now, especially about IPs I actually care about. It seems like movies are completely hit or miss over the last few years.

Blumhouse has been pulling out good bangers (excluding Exorcist: Believer because that was a dud) and Imaginary was great. The jump scares were few but good, and the plot was phenomenal! It keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Jeff Wadlow's last good film in my opinion is Kick-Ass 2, I loved that film.

Wow I wasn't expecting a dig at The Crow remake and Madame Web in this review, I love it. This is now 2/2 reviews I've seen for Imaginary that mentioned Madame Web 😂

I have always been a defender of Blumhouse, but after watching this film, I started to see the pattern everyone else does. I spent $20 dollars to rent this film. Why? Idk!!! The last 45 minutes lost me. I have never lost interest in a movie like I did this one. I 💯 agree with you, on this could’ve been PG, minus 2 words of dialogue ridiculous!! Hopefully we see great films in the future from Blumhouse!
