I think you’re gonna have a lot of fun with smt v builds, especially with the ones orientated around certain magatsuhis. My personal favorite is the multi hit red rider build which has terrorblade + rampage alongside an omagotaki dance/ expand:crit aura with a supporting demon like mermaid. That build deals a pretty nasty amount of damage and is fairly flexible (crit auras ignore evasion and terrorblade pierces)

All bosses from the Virtual Challenge mode (story bosses are level 100 and they raise the level by 100 every time you win) Level 100 with improved stats and 3+ magatsuhi skills Plus every mission clear means they raise 100 levels and ALL bosses (since Hydra to the last one) can do the impaler skill

@@mrex666productions7 Just use Kannabi veil with Nahobino. That reduces damage by 30% and if you have a tank that taunted well you can see where this is going.

It's probably because of Omnipotent Succession think about your Nahobino is the first slot you use Impaler's Animus go through the turns but pass the last one so it goes back to your Nahobino active Omnipotent Succession and just Spam attacks

Omnipotent Succession and the Charge effects take up the same buff slot, so they'll just overwrite each other.

to be fair, it is an indirect nerf to figment slash, Impaler's was why you could use it on everything. Also Myriad Slashes had a higher theoretical damage ceiling which, with the crit rate and accuracy innate skills, is actually kinda feasible to go for now

Accursed Poison doesn't mute by default, impaler's and the donums took nerfs, phys and almighty miracles are stupid expensive...they're nerfing all the cheese strats from the original

I guess they wanted the pierce effect to be the bigger draw. Otherwise it would indeed just be a direct upgrade to Charge instead of an option to it.

It was 1.8, now is 1.3. I heard that it was supposed to be 1.3 in the og game at the first place according to someone who read the official guide book but dev didn't fix it.

I wonder if with the impaler animus nerf, it isn’t generally a better idea to go with a charge + Murakumo build as it benefits a lot more from omogatoki critical (not needing to apply pierce every other turn) or omogatoki strategize (Potentially being able to do 8 Murakumos? Sign me up)

I dont really understand the nerfs, this isnt a multiplayer game with PVP. Im kinda sad Idun isnt "Meta" anymore because Konohana Sakuya is just a straight upgrade, they could have kept Idun's better heal and maybe give her a better innate skill to at least make her not "Worse Sakuya" and at least make her distinct from the DLC character that they made purely to pite Idun. But I agree that plenty of moves were weirdly nerfed while others werent, but I honestly dont think nerfs should happen in JRPGs, I like being OP at the endgame so give me OP stuff.

I wholesale disagree, the idea that nerfs shouldn't happen in single player stuff is just stupid. First of all, there's times when something that breaks the game is so easy to access that the majority of the audience runs into it and realizes it's the best strategy full stop, which limits player expression. Second, SMT is generally supposed to be the more difficult of Atlus's properties. There are plenty of JRPGs that do let you get blatantly overpowered and unstoppable, but making every game that is both boring and bad business, because there's an audience that wants a game that's a struggle or requires thought all the way through.

@@NVFerost I am of the opinion all games should do what atlus does with its rereleases. It would be wonderful if strategy was more important in more games. People talk about strategy and stuff with rpg's all the time but then a majority can be broken with such ease that the strategy devolves into spamming oneshot kinda builds. I kinda wish persona was as hard as SMTV Vengeance route.

Idun is still usable even if Sakuya exists. Slightly quicker access to her with an easier boss to deal with, you just need to fuse her instead of getting her after the fight like Sakuya. I dont know how severe Godborn mode is but on Hard omniboost+heal is generally enough to push you through any upcoming miniboss/boss fights until you get Tao.

ParaSelene Blur and Myriad Slashes combined with the Pandemonic Feast passive actually is better then Figment Slash cause of the added hits to multi attack skills. Seriously don’t sleep on the PF passive it’s a game changer for some skills

That and satan is passive gives everyone pierce and a crit rate boost for simply being on the field so in godborne seems like no one will use impaler ever

I honestly don't think Figment Slash needed to be touched, it's absolutely strong, but with what we know how team synergy for Rampage can absolutely be 100% stronger. Pandemonic Feast goes crazy. The caveat obviously being that team synergy requires the use of some suboptimal demons, but Vritra is more than capable imo. Figment still requires no team synergy to go crazy, for better or worse, but there's still some options that are quite interesting. (I know people saying Myriad Slashes, but between the 80 power of Myriad and 180 of Rampage, you tell me. Have none of you used Omagatoki: Dance in your life? Am I seriously the only person who has experimented enough to try Rampage as a serious option?? I feel like there was an analysis video between physical skills for the OG game a couple years ago but I can't find it now.) Anyway, Figment+Adversity/Murakumo+Adversity OTK builds are still functional, which is pretty wild, but I think the balance of the game is in a shockingly good spot for 2024 era Atlus. It's got a lot of potential options for you to build with, but they all seemingly have strengths and weaknesses, aside from maybe Ikuyumi, but that isn't fully datamined yet.

i been noticing a lot of older moves looks like it got nerfed, my yoshitsune deals less damage now, so i was wondering if was because of some sort of nerf or maybe the balancing of the scaling in damaga. Man.... im not really a fan of this type of nerfs so the new things shine, they already nerfed idun healing and make cleo's unique attack cost more than twice than in vanilla, not really a fan of this type of nerfs tbh

Sorry. If the multiplier for donum gladi is lower, then what's the point of using charge/concentrate? Low mp and highest multiplier compared to high cost and lower multiplier. Thank you

The Donum skills are especially good for characters who buff or heal, and don't really have good attack. They allow that demon to provide damage on turns when they otherwise would not do anything but pass.

Never realized the mitamas were busted till i got to the second area and encountnered a bunch of blue ones that instantly gave me over 100 extra glory and now i kinda want to mess around in the second area till i have all the current miracles. Also i find physical kind of weak since a lot of demon bosses have resisted physical so far and i feel a magic build would destroy the campaign of vengeance at as items scale with Magic stat and thus you could have Nahobino on support duty whilst being able to target weaknesses and nuke things with ease. I am not far into the game so maybe physical gets better but idk it feels like SMTV is a magic dominated game at least with the vengeance route also status ailments feel awful to use and kinda worthless. I wish they let the EO devs make statuses better cause press turn combat makes them much more balanced even with insane effects. Outside of that and making single target buffs a thing when they shouldn't be same with debuffs(referring to 5 changing something good to something worthless specifically buffs but single target debuffs in hordefights suck too.) i have been really enjoying vengeance and would easily consider it the best megaten game so far.

Oh smt5 is definitely more phy dominated, you get almighty skills that scale with your phy stat and the strongest skill is figment slash(in the video) which is the best option to speedrun any boss

@@renlei7523 Got to spoiler part of vengeance and i still think magic is much better although having a blast with stacking omnipotent succession and critical now abusing wrath tempest and sakanagi like that. Magic already has a pierce blizzard attack available for me to use although extremely costly like 100 mp since i have not invested in the proficiency skill miracles yet, you get ruinous thunder in the second area and third gives you profaned land and like mentioned magic items stack with your magic stat which means you can target any weakness at any time so long as you keep your gem and shard supply up. Current team is Idunn for cheaper lustercandy aka golden apple and her healing has greatly fallen off even with healing pleroma, Physical nahobino with wrath tempest, kannabi veil, Sakanagi, Bloody glee, phys pleroma, spirit drain, Using kushinada for healing and the final slot is just for targeting specific weaknesses but ideally it would be chu cullain cause gae bolg kinda busted or dakini cause both buff nahobinos crit damage. You also forgot to mention figment slash is an endgame ability and has abysmal accuracy like myriad slashes. I am still unsure as to how to slot demons up properly yet but just slowly working my way up through the compendium when it feels like there is an upgrade also abilities like carpeting bolt are really underrated. The way damage can drastically increase based on how many hits in the turn is kinda wild and if you set up a crazy multihit team you could nuke bosses with that innate skill and targeting the boss with the element that's buffed by it. Maybe in vanilla 5 it was much more heavily dominated by physical but in vengeance at least it seems magic has a large edge for most of the game. I feel like i gotta be far at this point as i just beat abdiel and recruited artemis to my team finally. Also did some other quests but cannot beat others like pale rider, yamata no orochi, cleopatra and some others now available since the level requirement is too high and with some like pale and yamata they have a strong gimmick or tool that cooks my party too easily like pale will dekaja your buffs every turn and then you also fight two dominions as well as him and yamata no orochi gets like 8-16 turns of pressing auto attack and i have no way to nerf him hard enough to be able to keep up the buffs from idunn for four turns and keep everyone healthy so i can keep building omnipotent succession and omagatoki critical to nuke him down. Also my opinion on ailments has greatly improved now using some of the magatsuhi skills like accursed poison and omagatoki hit and i now realize you just have to build a team to use them well which is something i have not committed to.

Why would you use Impaler Animus + Murakumo? You don't even need the pierce effect and you'll deal less damage (+ more mp) Anyways.... Omnipotent Succession + Murakumo Oh and I'm adding Omagatoki : Critical too on top of that

Does it matter? I mean it. Haven't played the original, but by that point in the game, shouldn't you have more than enough damage to beat your opponent? I guess, I matters if you're playing on hard

Yeah on hard you dealt way less damage compared to normal also, even if impaler getting nerfed but the fact that thus time your stats can goes over 200 easily means that at some point self buff will be not that relevant
