Let us know what you guys think of this style of Battle Report! Do you like full Reports or this style of Report that's shorter? Do you enjoy commentary over movement or when we just skip over it? What are the kind of battle report you guys enjoy?

I like skipping slightly better then talking because I don't always have 4 hours. That said I always seem to enjoy the commentary immensely as a new player whose still learning.

I binge watch these all the time, personally I feel like the longer versions are better imo, but I think you should put both versions if you can that way we could pick and watch which version we like

I like them both. I will put it on while I'm painting so i have solid entertainment for a few hours. But the shorter one is more digestible for those who want 100% focus. I personally like the long form more but to each their own.

Great format, and the Editor's notes are clear and informative enough for newer players. It also makes it easier for more experienced folks to accept the mistakes and keep watching since you already acknowledged how the game would change. You and the crew are killing it on content Matt, so glad that y'all got into 40K.

I looked that up too and the Google search implies the ships name is Fate but then when I looked at the wiki it seems like it was unnamed as Royal Ship. But yea there's a ton of cool names you could whip out from "Fate"

Legendary editing, Matt. Every single aspect of this video is polished to perfection. The overlay is clean and engaging, the well placed cuts in those dull moments keep the action flowing and the commenting and the editor’s notes are spot on. Honestly, this was a joy to watch from start to finish and the amount of love and devotion you have for your craft just shows. TBF, tho’, I do still enjoy the 4 hour BR’s cause it keeps me in you guys’ company for a bit longer, but this will make the vids easier to digest for all those who don’t have that much time to burn. Keep it up Matt, I’m pretty sure I speak in the name of all the community when I say that we are absolutely fuckin’ blessed to see the fruits of your labor. Just don’t overdo it, okay? Dameki if you are looking for a good Psyker for your DA; Consider Ezekiel; being a member of the Inner Circle, having 2 casts and 3 abilities, aswel as an Aura that gives 1+ attack in Melee makes him a worthy candidate.

YES LETS SEE THOSE KNIGHTS IN ACTION. I've been waiting for this. Edit: In regards to Prince Eric's cannon. You could call his cannon Faithful Grimsby after his man servant in the movie. You could also do something like Bane of the Sea Witch if Ursalas bane isn't to your liking. (It's the ships prow that spears her though so not as fitting for the cannon)

i usually watch your guys' four hour vods when i'm working, really makes the time pass faster in a great way. that being said, i also very much enjoy this shorter format, especially with the notes providing reminders and editors comments about the rules, it really helps with understanding certain things better, and saves the hassle of having to deal with correctors. id say whichever works easiest to put up, i will watch it regardless, but i won't deny that i do enjoy this more condensed format, too.

Definitely my favorite report from you guys so far. Editor's notes are a welcome addition that many other channels don't do, the break downs before turns are super handy, even the simple graphics to show engage on all fronts help a lot. Would definitely watch more of these style.

I appreciate the sped up style of battle report. My ADHD ass could never sit through a whole unedited 4 hour matched from you guys before but this was very easy to watch. I'd recommend watching a Midwinter Minis battle report, which I consider the best in the field, they put a lot of editing and voice work into it but that makes it very easy to understand.

I prefer the full length videos. Not enough channels go over movement phase but learning more about it has helped me grow as a player. If the video is longer people can always skip through it but if the video is cut short people can't get the in-depth parts that may have been removed

I don't mind this format, since y'all are a swell group of fellas but I sure do prefer it when you have the more "live sports" feel. Having the guys behind the desk talking about the game and switching back to the action and everyone talking about the game is REALLY unique in the warhammer battle report space. I haven't seen anyone else try and take the Hockey Night in Canada approach to this material and it defines what a Dice Check battle report is for me. Makes me feel like I can invite the boys over to "watch the game" with beers and wings and stuff, which is really cool!

While that is cool, I feel like it only works well when you catch it with the stream (which you can still do with these battle reports) This feels much better and engaging, especially when I don't have enough time for a 4 hour game

Perhaps an easy compromise would be to have lightly edited, longer sports-ball-game reports paired with the more accessible and immediately engaging 40 minute edited battle report. Like 2 ways to watch each report.

I am really loving this new format, I think the editing is absolutely fantastic for this video great job! The transitions and pacing for this format feel really good, does not disrupt my immersion at all. I would love to have this format as the primary way battle reports are done on this channel, however It feels like this format is very time consuming and hard to consistently deliver the high quality product. In an ideal world I would love to continue seeing the raw full games and these new edited formats, but I would happily settle for raw full games like previous and new format vids sprinkled in, maybe only editing super banger games?

To be honest, I prefer when the players are the ones who really commentate over the game. I like it when they also tell what they do, and why. Maybe it's just me, just never been all that excited for commentary in any kind of sport. Finally - God damn the production value is nice on these things!

Mr. Magikarp! It's hard to hear you from where you are during the battle. Please consider adding a proxy mic from where you are during these sessions, or adding subtitles! LOVED everything about this new style. Especially showing the individual models, showing their rules, and adding notes where a goof happens. As a lover of Knights, I can attest to the only way they can come close to winning is if some rules get broken, fudged, and/or forgotten about!

I think compared to other battle reports that are short form I feel like you guys didn’t skip things that happened in the game. Just the movement obviously. I like that you let the players carry the commentary and not post commentary. Really awesome stuff. Knights are dope as fuck

Ursula's Demise? Has that been suggested yet? Great content guys, the sidebar with the notes on what went wrong ruleswise was a good include. I like the longer form battlereports, but this shorter format makes it way easier to sit down and watch. So I guess I prefer this shorter style BR. I would like some commentary on movement choices, so we can hear what the players were thinking when they made those moves. Hope to see more battle reports in the near future, don't overwork yourselves though!

The new format is my favorite. I'm looking forward to Dimecki getting more DA games under his belt. My army of choice since 2nd edition. Pretty much every error, worked against the DA. Surprised Weapons of the Dark Age, never got used, one of the DA best strats. Try a RW Apoth and if your going to use Psychics, Ezekiel is worth a look.

One of the ~smoothest~ battle reports on the youtubes. Great edit and fantastic paint jobs for both armies! Can't wait to see Necrons on the channel at some point!

I like the new format for battle reports. Absolutely love the army intros. Kinda prefer the longer battle reports for season/tournaments for the chat, discussion and super chats. Prefer this format for in between battles. Great overlays as well. Keep up the good work guys 🙂

There’s a high-pitched whine/ringing in a lot of these videos. I love catching the content, and don’t even know if it’s possible to take out or fix in recording, but I often have to take breaks every hour or so because it makes my ears ring like no other videos on RU-vid do. Keep up the great plays, guys!

I really like that you do rules corrections as post-game commentary, without breaking the flow of the video. Do the players get to review the mistake so they are aware for later?

Comparing to your amazing tournament. Honest feedback. PROS: # I liked the breakdown of points after each turn that Matt did. Summarized very nicely. CONS: # I miss the energy and commentators of the game when it was live. # I miss the 40k stats on how each army is doing in the tournament scene. This was the one thing that set you apart from all other channels and I LOVED IT! I realised it's a lot of extra work. (forget me if you added it and I missed it while painting). P.s. This is my second favourite BattleRep channel behind "TableTopTitains". Which is good, because I watch like 4 different channels.

Awesome battlereport, the music is well selected, underlining the emotions that happen when looking at those rolls! Love this, I neeeed more! One thing, at 1:00:14 you jumped from 30 -> 33 VP for dameki, even though he should be at 34 Only a very minor thing, but was a bit confused when you added 10 VP after and it jumped to 44 from 33

something that I really liked from the first round of battle reports is when the casters would give little bits of lore about the armies, like when we were talking about Shadowsun being on Ice and Farsight having a necron sword in the Sisters versus Tau. If there was an abbreviated version of those like as a commercial break or something I think that would be really neat
