We were performing our HPC Live show with some new tricks at Verkkokauppa store couple weeks ago and decide to film the whole process. Thanks to Rautasoini for the barrels! www.rautasoini.fi
You guys work so hard to bring us great content! I just want to say I really appreciate the effort that goes Into doing this and want thank you both. I really enjoy watching your videos and look forward to many more :0)
But he is right, they do work hard to put new content online and work on the "brand". Live shows is excellent avenue to promote your stuff, nothing beats seeing people in person. I've been in the "biz" for years, as stagehand and stagemanager so i got some idea how much work it is to put on a live show even a small one. It takes time to get better at it and there is no other way than to just doing it.
It's not likehunting if he's being genuine. These kind of comments are feedback about the video and its content, as well as a statement of appreciation.
This was first time of including barrels implosions to our live shows and it worked really nice! And we have now our sights on one really big live show coming probably with in couple months that involves lot of building big destruction stuff and playing with explosives :D So good stuff coming! And thanks to Verkkokauppa for letting us scare your customers with loud implosions for whole weekend :D www.verkkokauppa.com/
Beyond the press it is good to see people taking an interest in what you do. Hopefully some of those kids will be inspired to pursue careers in engineering and machining related fields.
The two of you are by far the most charismatic couple on youtube. Combine that with interesting, cool, silly and well stupid stuff and you have a winner. Thank you for being who you are (awesome). Don't ever change Keep up your VERY good work. Best wishes from Denmark :-)
I agree! They come across as the kindest most genuinely "genuine" people! Someday, I hope to make the trip to Finland to discover the city/area where my family is from. Hopefully finding time to meet these two people and shake hands. Now to squish some various items with them, what a way to spend a day! Anni is a crack up sometimes. We all see how sweet, kind and smart she is. Then we see the fun side, on the ready to add "more fun"!! THEN.... she's not just working out with her husband. She's POWER LIFTING for goodness sake. : ) I have 30+ years in the industrial/automotive world and have worked with the same kind of people and tools. Just speak a different language. One complex I worked at had a 200 ton press, huge, green and called "Godzilla" lol! Even if I was on, broom and garbage can detail. I would have the best time "hanging out" with these fine people!
Anni is one of those people who can dress like an unsupervised 6-year-old and yet still look cool. I have no idea how she does it. Something in the smile, I suspect. :)
Thanks to various sources, I've come to the conclusion that Finns are generally introverted and crazy in a fun way. Maybe they don't want to always show their fun craziness until they're sure it goes over well, and that makes for introversion, or introversion drives them crazy in a fun way, but I absolutely appreciate the standard level of Finnish crazy. (note: if this offends, reread as a joke before getting angry)
Your videos are always so interesting, but both of you add magic to them :) you are lovely and very cheerful, and your love about what you are doing is infectious! I watch your vids no matter where i am and feels like i am doing the experiments myself with a couple of friends ^^ Thanks a lot for every single video and all the hard work behind them.
Also, you guys make awesome videos. I love watching both HPC and Beyond the Press. You guys are putting out top quality content. You guys bust your asses for these videos. Much respect.
Congratulations guys, your channel is popular and it looks like not only you have a solid fan base but you guys are like celebrities in that store! Come to the U.S. and do a live crush!
Looks like the show was a great success. Congratulations guys. Also, I noticed, the registration plate on your car is the same as we have in Victoria, Australia.....3 letters then 3 numbers (Learn something everyday). 😉
Richard Fairchild you should subscribe to Anni’s channel then ! Weekly vlog. I’m not sure what her last name is, but I’m sure you could find it with “anni hydraulic press vlog”
You two are such a fucking cute couple, I swear, and a cute couple that works really hard to bring us amazing content all the time. Funny, nerdy, silly, inventive and hard working. The world needs more people like you two. Keep up the amazingly interesting/entertaining content, and we will keep supporting/watching. Much love from the US!
Beyond the press hi from nz, Kia ora . How small can you make a drum by not disconnecting the pump but keep going till the full airspace is no longer . Just curious
Have you tried steam to cause an implosion yet? Heat a little water to boiling inside, then seal the barrel. Spray cold water on the outside, and it should implode!
Alan Jeffrey Pressure works on the entire surface area. So, every square inch has the pressure and it all adds up. A small hose has very little area for the pressure to act on so it can withstand much higher pressures with less trouble.
In addition to what others have said about the surface area, another thing preventing the crushing is the thickness of the wall of the tube in relation to the diameter of the tube. The steel sheet that the barrel is made from is very thin in comparison to its diameter, whereas the tube is much thicker using the same comparison. To make it easier to understand, if the barrel had the same wall thickness to diameter ratio as the tube, the wall would be roughly 200mm thick steel and it would need a much more powerful vacuum to make it implode. If the tube had the same wall thickness to diameter ratio as the barrel then the tubes walls would be as thin as newspaper and probably would implode.
If you do an outside show with the barrels you should set up like three of them and have the crowd play a guessing game of which one will implode first
