As whack as it is that they shipped these rifles with firing pins that aren’t to spec causing this issue, it’s good to see them finding the root cause and remedying it for ALL owners, not just this one incident.
Most firearms with the Ar18 varient actions have a mechanical stop on their firing pins. The Howa Type 89 started as an AR18 but with multiple iterations to resolve issues exactly like this. The firing pin in the t89 has a full crown mechanical stop. Having original AR18 spec components is not something people should want.
This was great, I hadn't heard about this until today. So I'll definitely be sending off for one in the morning. Mine has around 400 rounds through it now. Done some playing around and my best 5 shot group was 1.75" @200
But 180 pins aren’t floating like an sks, they must have machined the bolt in a way that would let the pin wedge forward and not return. Seems odd to blame the standardized pin. Then re engineer it to fix a problem no other outfit has
Do you realize that they only had two of these cases and one, maybe both, are likely from the customer not reassembling the retaining pin infront of the raised safety shoulder? This new pin is just to make it retard proof.
@@47RoninCSI agree. I would love one too.. our government banned all guns that looks scary. The nicest looking guns we are able to own are 22. Soon we will be at the range and hunting with slingshots. We need better leadership in this country
