Hi Sherry and friend. I have been quilting like this for quite some time and really thought I was making up my own mess and LOVING it. While looking for other books on Amazon, I came across your book and was so excited to find that there was a name to my crazy and wild way of quilting as I really really do not like following a pattern. I ordered the book and it will be delivered tomorrow. While waiting I thought I would look to see if you had any videos to show your style. And so happy that I found you. I make videos myself and people are loving my way of using up my scraps. I am going to review your book tomorrow on a video after I receive it. I KNOW I am going to love it so much! I am so happy to know that at age 72 I am not just loosing my mind but discovering that I AM an ARTIST! Thank you for giving me that permission. I have a friend that does that same style of Mad Wild Quilting and couldnt wait to tell her about your book. We are both looking forward to seeing what you have to add to our fabric madness.

Love this. The key is finding the fabric. Thanks for all the great ideas.

No. The key is letting it all be random!

Just saw a tip today, using shirt buttons and button holes on backs of pillows to keep pillow closed, so cool!

This was fun. Striking with lots of solids. Any scraps are fair game. No quilt police invited unless they make one too. On the topic of scraps and challenges, I made a small spider web paper pieced decoration with fabric scraps given for a challenge. I only added black. It was fun to see all those prints come together and look so pleasing. I used small blocks so the prints were very narrow in the block.

I am creating a quilt Improv Style...but no curves...all square scraps or rectangular...I started off using smaller pieces and working up to larger pieces but not wider than 4" ish...I am using a mix of Moda's Chocolat, Viennna Nights, Chelsea Manor and Mistletoe Manor fabrics...a great way to use up leftovers...it is really fun and no pattern to follow!

I cringed when I noted that you placed your rotary cutter down with the blade extended! Always, close your blade before you lay it down. You may also purchase a rotary cutter that will auto retract when you complete your cutting. Otherwise, I love your improv method!

Nicely presented, but for the part sewing without the pins, I couldn't see what you were doing. Still, I did glean some tips. Thanks!

Wow…sewing right over the pins! Yikes! 😂

If you sew with really fine pins you can get away with that...saves a bunch of time.
