I am trying today without the Walker.... I did eggs over easy with handgrated hash browns. and Ham. Today. I haven't spilled my coffee cup yet using my left hand... And I went for a drive and can use my left foot on the brake pedal.. getting better by the minute.. right now I am sitting out in the yard in a lawn chair that I made it to without the Walker. . Have a small fire going in the fire pit. Enjoying the early evening I had a stroke on March 6th on March 7th they told me I would never walk again on March 8th I found your... videos ... And told them I am walking out of here Friday and I am taking your Walker with me...... I practiced everything you showed online every exercise, and amazed my therapist and doctors with recovery.. I know the difference between up and down because down is where I kept falling

Good on you! And I LOVE fire pits! I was just saying this weekend, that’s what I want to do- one of my favourite things ..sitting outside by a fire. It’s in my list. I love watching sunsets every night I can - really helps with my mental health!

Pontic Stroke Aug 15 Hemipalegic. Didnt affect mind when I am alone, but I live in Honduras and the stimulation on the streets is immense. Loud music, panhandlers, broken sidewalks and just crossing the street has been tough, but my therapist encouraged me to go to the market every day and talk to people. This has really helped!

I have been having problems with my memory to the extent that i go to do something and forget what that is on the way. I also have trouble following a chat with friends more than one on one.like one of your commentators i wish i had these strategies earlier. I am into my second year and am 81 yo so everyone puts my problems down to old age. I have done exercises since day one but have found progress is now slow. I still cant walk without a wheelie walker. I feel like a failure. Thank you for listening. Lesley richards. Australia.

My husband had a stroke from a brain bleed 1 1/2 years ago. He doesn’t have issues with memory, knowing the day of the week, organizing his day, or any of those things typical of a stroke survivor. His main issue is his processing speed is slow. But it effects so much. Getting dressed is very slow, etc. It effects his ability to have conversation because it takes him a long time to think of something to say. I am always looking for ways to increase his processing speed. I listen to your videos all the time. Thanks!

Hi, I hope your husband is doing better! Slowed down processing speed was something that I have also noticed. My dad seems to also have this problem but he only just had a stroke. I was wondering if you had any updates or anything you can share that may have helped? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!

@@Julia-js9pf He is doing much better but we are still working at it. It can get frustrating day to day not seeing progress, but then I look back a year ago and I realize how much progress he has made. The best piece of advice I have is keep at it. Even if you don’t see the progress, it will come. I have him do all kinds of speed games. There are a lot of games online and free apps. I will ask things like name as many vegetables you can in a minute. Pull up a list of words and ask him to say a synonym and opposite. Anything to help his brain go faster. It works. Hang in there!😊

I definitely struggled with this. I wish I had some of these techniques earlier in my recovery. It's better late than never, though, I suppose. Thank you for all you do!😊

I smoked after my stroke but I quit smoking about 15 years after it was 17 years ago or 18. Unfortunately I didn't write it down.

Because I loved singing so much it was hard to listen to music the first two years of my stroke. Now I have it on while I'm cooking. It helps.

My mum is slow... So slooow... And her notion or more her appreciation of the time is looong. We live in Paris 🇨🇵. Today my neighbor helped her to have a bath. When she wanted to put her bras on, she has noticed that their was too small. Now I've understood why my mum didn't want to put her bra. I was wrongly upset. But she never mentionned that they were small for her. She just decided to only put tee-shirt, shirt etc without bras but I know why. I feel sad about it 😮‍💨

@spectershore4482 I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Understanding someone after a stroke can take some adjustment, especially if they're not able to communicate in the same way as before the stroke. But the good news is that you both can learn how to better understand each other with time and patience. Wishing you both the best ❤️

Thanks for this warm message. As a son, it's difficult. Few days ago, I smiled because I started to accept that I need adjustments. Like with a newborn. My mum is only 65. That was the brutal part of it. Now I'm more flexible, real performance for those who know me 😁. Keep up the very good work with your channel ! 🤩
