I loved all of it Riaz. You kept my attention too! Here is my best take away, Interacting with my scene. When I do my Facebook lives I like to show a little bit of my book shelf. Because I emphasize learning. But some people suggest just a blank clear background. So I should maitain having those books Riaz? I also take notes and ask them to take notes too, as I speak. What do you think? You cannot see this because the saved videos are only in my Facebook group. Great content! Subscribing here.
Thanks Sherifa. Considering your points I think the appropriate background depends on your audience. If it's casual, make it more personal. If it's a professional setting, declutter and make it a cleaner backdrop so your audience can focus on your message. Above all, make it a representation of who you are. Virtual communication is a whole new focus for all of us now.
Thank you so much for providing these good inputs. It was very informative. After watching your video, I immediately recognized my mistakes when I had an online zoom interview time ago. Overall, what I hear you saying is making something virtual as authentic and engaging as possible.
Loved your point about interacting with your scene - I think incorporating visualize that are engaging and help enhance your message can subtly keep your audience interested! ✨
Awesome video again thanks, I've also been dressing for the occasion. Even though I'm at home most of the time by myself, I'm putting on nice clothes, doing the hair and putting on a little makeup as well. I've found this helps set my energy in the right direction.
Wow Riaz you are so incredibly captivating. I'm buying what you are selling sir! 🤩 As soon as you talked about 'my space' I looked at my messy background LOL
Great video! I never thought of how the background on a video call can effect how others perceive you. Looking directly in the camera always helps because it makes it seem as if you are making eye contact.
Showcasing a warm atmoshpere or a having your space clean imrpoves a virtual presentation. I will have a better background for my final speech that way i show profesionalism. Using bullet points and having it under my camera will change how i read my ntoes instead of loking like my eyes are shifiting. I will use these techniques to improve my speech!
Maintain a good, professional appearance. Bring life in real presence and elements into your delivery, by using props to form connections! Maintaining eye contact can form a sense of intimacy and connection.
Based on what I've previously read/seen on this topic, my expectations were low (the advice is usually obvious or trivial), but this was really excellent, meaningful advice. Thanks!
I appreciate how much thought you put into this presentation. Super helpful. Oy those unexpected moments like the dogs go crazy barking at the cat outside. Just have to go with the flow. Thanks Riaz! 😊
I absolutely love your content Riaz. So many nuggets of gold here. I hold Zoom meetings regularly and I agree with everything you said. I'm pretty good with most things but adding real elements to make it more of a conversation hit home with me which I know I can work on. The goal overall what I hear you saying are ways to make something virtual as real and engaging as possible. Love this.
This is incredible content Riaz! So, insightful and on point with the current context of what we are experiencing. You really deliver on giving us tips to elevate our presentation skills. Thank you!
Embrace the unexpected is perhaps the best, how we respond shows truly who we are and how professional we are, we let our guard down and audience will truly see that. Thanks for the video!
This video seemlessly breaks down everything I do on a regular basis, but don't necessarily know why I was doing it, or if I should continue doing it. GREAT DELIVERY!
I love your videos! I do virtual training and what great tips you have given! Just when I think I have it down, you let me know better ideas! I went from using the virtual background, to a sterile room and now I think i will try your suggestion. I'll make it my personality. Thanks so much!
Taking a pause to think about what's in the chatbox and show appreciation for people's engagement is so important! I've neglected it once or twice and always give myself a Homer "doh!" moment when it happens
@@RiazMeghji I was doing a workshop once at a university and some people weren't able to come in so it was streamed. There was a chatbox that I didn't see but was managed by the hosts and that was even tougher to navigate!
That’s tricky. I’ve found it helpful to map out some good questions with the host beforehand if you’re the speaker, and these responses can help humanize you in the virtual space.
