wow i have never thought i could be so inspired and happy for a youtuber to have a comment like this before....also encourage me to keep my video channel alive when i feel down.
"Being interesting is being interested." Wow, so true! I am practicing listening to others for a while now and I notice it's easier to listen when I feel good about myself. It creates room to focus on the other person. I'll remember those words when listening gets hard a next time. 🤗😘
It's only true to some extent. I'm someone who listens a lot, I prefer it over talking. I've been told I'm a good listener, but also that I'm boring. So sometimes you have to talk more to be interesting.
Sure, you should try to find a balance. If you listen too much and are passive in conversations: give more input, speak your mind. I get self-absorbed easily and talk too much about myself, so I practice listening. 🙂
What do you do when you are listening to someone and you know all they are doing is lying & bragging about themselves? What according to you is the best way to deal such situation?
This year I was on a plane, going to see my family and I was reading that book. Somewhere in the middle of the flight I decided '' Well I have the opportunitty to put this advice on practice, so why not trying to speak with someone? '' So I asked a simple question to the lady that was sitting next to me, and one thing led to another and soon I realised she was telling me the struggles of her life and how she was headed home from a funeral of one of her best friends that commited suicide. That suicide had appeared on the news here, it was big, her friend jumped on the tracks of a train... but somehow I only felt how bad it was when I was talking with that lady. A simple question made me connect with someone I didnt even know. A simple question. I now try to have more and more of these moments with other people, its really fullfilling to make someone comfortable enough to talk to you and being vulnerable with you.
@@Livia-ze9ch I can't remembered exactly. I know it was something like "Are you from Portugal (My country)?" And the conversation started from there It was easy because she was very comfortable in sharing her stuff I have encountered people that were very uncomfortable with being vulnerable, and it's really difficult to put them at ease to talk (they even started trembling) And to those people I noticed that being comprehensive (not forcing) and being vulnerable (sharing our stuff) helps a lot
I want to people but I can't because I think people will feel that she want to spent her time that's why she is talking to us... I always fly very quietly ... sorry for my English
This is so true!!! A lot of people say that they love talking to me when in fact, I rarely do the actual talking. I just listen intentionally to what the other party is saying. ☺️
Your smile. NOT "you're smile". I just can't believe how illiterate some people are. Just don't leave comments, if you don't know BASIC English words. You're=you are.
@@amberleaf7 I am so sorry for offending you. I am totally suing my auto correct (It sounds like an excuse but I promise it's not) and you sue me for not checking. Thank you for pointing it out, Amber. I will henceforth check and post. Sweets for you, sweetness.
Halfway through this video I thought to myself, “someone has read How to Make Friends and Influence People.” And then immediately after the thought you mentioned it haha. Honestly that book changed my life. Super simple concepts and very applicable. Wonderful video, love what you had to give on this topic
I also have the book but I'm very struggling on reading it because the language feels so.. Idk, heavy? Especially with the fact that I'm not fluent in English. But after hearing Sadia recommending it to be read, I think I'm gonna try my best to read it again, and this time, until the the end of it😂
Clara Haf it uses a bit of old english which makes it have a different speed and detail, but it is good. I sometimes would have to re-read sentences and I am a native english speaker, so you’re not alone
Sadia, thank you so much for your videos. I can’t tell you how much comfort and ease they bring to my day-to-day life. I look forward to every upload and even more so to your gentle spirit. Thank you xx
I used be very shy in my first year .. but then in the same year when I made a friend who was very good at communicating ..my life changed for good. She is my role model the one who basically brought positivity in my life. Looking at you reminds me of her! 🤗 Thank you! This will help me more about how to connect with people at a deeper level.
Oh happy day! The studio is looking overwhelmingly beautiful Sadia :) Courage & vulnerability really are two sides of the same coin aren’t they, I often forget that. Thank you for the reminder.
Good luck with your date!! 🍀🌸You can do it, really! Smiling will help, it’s the most beautiful thing you can wear and it helps feeling more positive even though it’s just out of nervousness 😊
Corina Van Dijk It's today, so revisiting this video to lift my spirits & to reread your words of encouragement. I realize I haven't said thank you yet! Thank you!! Have a great day!
Often times when I hear youtubers say how much a like helps them or ask me to subscribe, I feel annoyed or like they are having to remind me. However, when I hear that on this channel I feel like your hard work is SO apparent that I can't help but want to support you. You do all this planning, organizing, thinking, learning, trying, and observing to produce a simple video. One which is treated the same as other videos are youtube which require little work or quality - yet you do it all the same and, on top of that, you grow it. Impressive :D
Ahh the new studio is gorgeous! This is such a great video topic and loved your perspective on it. Great tips on becoming a better listener and therefore becoming more interested and interesting!
As a comunication student, I have nothing to say but how this video is beautiful. Not only cinematographically but the approach of content itself is outstanding! Well done!
Did you just read my mind? This is something that I've been fairly suffering with life. I was thinking about how my communication skills suck and how I can improve it. I'm so grateful for this video. 💖💕
Thank you for this video! It’s so true that we anticipate events way worse than they actually tend to be, which creates a lot of anxiety. I call it anticipatory anxiety with my clients and it’s so helpful recognizing that whenever they are experiencing anxiety in anticipation of the event. And it’s so true that the narration we tell ourselves becomes somewhat of a self-fulfilling prophecy. It’s so important to change the narration in order to make any sort of self-improvement! Love your video, again thank you!
Hi Sadia, really like your videos! I am from China, resently found your videos on RU-vid and I just can't help myself to watch them all. Really love your content, so inspiring and it's a good way to learn English! Every time when you update, I would watch the video more twice.
Brene Brown's "Daring Greatly" is a great book discussing vulnerability as a measure of strength c: But beware of sharing too much too fast without having a stable foundation of trust!
I learned giving people compliments to make their day because I know a simple compliment on my shirt I am wearing or the shoes I have on catches me off guard because I wasn’t expecting it and it made me feel great and more confident. So I do it to random people. But what you taught me now is how to give advise by telling them what they’re doing right first and then give them your advise. Wow! Love that. Thank you for that. Blessings! 😁🙏🏼✨
Sadia the things you talk about and the way you do is simple and so effective. I hope you know you are so precious! Thank you for knowingly or unknowingly helping so many !! 🌻
Really LOVE YOU SADIA. Really wish you are doing a daily vlog because YOU INSPIRED US A LOT. By just hearing your tone makes me very positive in life...
hello, absolutely LOVED this video(like all of them :D). the older I get, the more I struggle with communication and this is brilliant. love all the greens in the studio and the way this video is edited and just everything about it. :) thank you for inspiring, thoughtful and creative content! this is one of my absolutely favorite youtube channels :)
Beautiful video! It was absolutely at the right time for me because I’m facing my Medicine final year exams right now and I’ll make sure I go there with my back straight and head held high! And as usual amazing space and fantastic editing ! I hope one day I have the confidence to make videos like you do! Love from India
I was also one of those people who used to forget the other person's name right after s/he said it. But then, at work, I started to write down the names of clients when they called on the phone and the key words of what they were saying. It helped me to stay focused and pay attention (you know how many people don't introduce themselves when they call???). Now I usually remember the name, even if I don't write it down.
Ever since I've started watching your videos, and using your advice, I can finally see changes in my life. I no longer have regrets, instead of using "I should" I'm using "I could" and it helps me so much to transition into a healthier life. I feel so much happier and energized. Thank you so much for existing and sharing all this with us. All the best.
All I want to say to you is THANK YOU for your simple, sweet, and inspiring videos! I stumbled upon your channel a few days ago, and just watching a couple of your videos has taught me so much!! The simplicity you maintain while giving advice really inspires and motivates me. Thank you so much!! Love from India❤😊
Thank you so much!! I'm soo shy and sometimes that's awful! I need to try so hard to communicate with people! So seeing you, being so genuine and kind, is just incredible! Thank you 😊
after one of your latest videos, where you talked about starting your RU-vid channel and taking the time to realise that your first video is not going to be your best video and if it is then you've waited to long, i started my channel and i am so excited with how much i am enjoying it! Thank you so much xx
I had read the book a long time ago but had forgotten his points how to talk with people and by watching your video I am recollecting all points. Thanks
Had to ofcourse Replay. 1st time was so keenly watching this amazing person smile & laugh, couldn't concentrate on the audio So had to replay - to listen to your beautiful content. Lots of love & care
Beautiful selfless peoples all around our world, giving giving back life to the people who are our brothers and sisters,,, Family world, lifts my heart 🌍♥️❤️🕊️🕊️🕊️
I have an interview tomorrow and I was so stressed about making sure I say the right thing and then I see that PUL has posted a video on exactly the tips and help that I needed to calm myself down about communicating well with the interviewer!!
@@PickUpLimes Thank you so much, Sadia! My interview went really well and I found out yesterday that I have finally got into the University of my choice! :)
Very helpful video. A year ago I was in a very vulnerable place. Wife, mother of 3 and we were moving out of the country. The culture-shock is real and I’ve struggled a lot with social skills since I was young but I cannot afford to stay that way all my life. I believe we can all use our challenges to help others, if we communicate them, of course 🙂 So thank you for making this video and thanks for the book suggestions!
I started a gratitude list a couple of months ago and even when I'm going through an "I don't have anything to write down today" phase, in general it helped me to be more optimistic about my everyday life and to generate good things around me.
You’re the one who I try to be. I love the positive life of you, the way you treat to yourself and your friends. The way you gratitude with what you have and still keep your work running on track. I admire u
Hey! Really like your videos. Although quite simple, they give out great messages. I deeply appreciate your hard work. Also, I have a request. You always seem to me like a person who is absolutely calm and at peace with life. I would really like to know what went into making the person that you're today. I have been struggling with my negative thoughts so much that I actually overthink all the time about everything in my life life. Will you please share your insight?? Always love listening to you. Love
Sadia! I also loved that books and found it very helpful. Thank you for continuing to inspire me with your thoughtful and beautiful videos. Sending love from California 💕
I wish there were more RU-vidrs with your maturity positivity and casual elegance. You're still pretty unique on this platform. Thanks for sharing yourself with us.
Just had a job interview at a big corporation... wish I had seen this before ^^' I mean, I think it went well, but it would have given me more confidence
You're so beautiful mashallah❤ And I love the "moving around studio" kind of filming😂❤ You're improving with each video you post and I'm hoping you reach ten million subs , Sadia❤
This using-name-thing is SO true. I used to think I couldn’t remember names either, but then realized it’s mostly about really, genuinely trying. Like you said, not giving yourself that free pass is really the key. This thursday I was at the receivning end of the magic of hearing your name. I helped my new professor to put tables and chairs back after a lecture when she said: ”So, how do you feel Filippa? About this new subject?” and it was something so special about hearing my name. I was instantly more open to share my thoughts, and felt a wonderful connection to the professor. So good ❤️
‘How to win friends and influence people’ was my first self-help book and still find that it helps me through this day. Thanks for introducing this book to the world! :)
" Inaction breeds doubt and fear " - Dale Carnegie Watching your videos since my depression treatment has really helped to make myself better and better as a student and as a person. The +ve vibes...the connection as if it's a one to one conversation...and last but not the least, the awesome content is worth of appreciation. I always used to feel, why people were not interested when I used to talk, now I understand, even I should had given them the attention, response they needed at their time..... Good wishes and loads of love from 17 years young girl from India.....☺☺😊
Your smile is so contagious! Your videos have inspired me in so many ways... I eat cleaner. I'm more confident. All round I'm a more happier, grateful person since discovering your videos. I truly Thank YOU for that. 🙏🏻
"I talked with John von Neumann, and quickly came to think he was the most brilliant person in the world. Then I went across the room and chatted with Einstein and quickly became convinced that I was the most brilliant person in the world."
This video checks some of the boxes I have been working on inorder to improve my communication skills. The praise first with critical stuff coming later in a feedback is really thoughtful. Some POWERFUL stuff here ! Cheers 😊
Your words really provide that boost to always be good to people and this is so helpful when we repeatedly meet quiet negative people! Loved the video !
Your creative content makes me a better person. I truly incorporate this in my daily life, little did I know, I am improving better and better each day! Love all the way here in the Philippines! All the best, Ms. Sadia! 🌷
