Bad ass! I have always loved the wr250x. Are you going to be posting the transformation of your wr anywhere that I could follow? I am happy to hear that my videos have been helpful and thank you for subscribing 🙌🤘
@@StephenAldaco depends on the terrain you’ll be riding. I have been mostly off road and enjoying the pirelli MT in the front and the Dunlop d606 in the rear which is a 70/30 off road to street ratio. My buddy Adam runs the Dunlop d605 front and rear on his wr which is a 50/50 and he has had zero issues with loosing traction on our rides. Except for the snow the MT did better. I might go with the d605’s next as they are half the cost and since I have been getting on the road more often now.
Richard Anning 1 second ago Haha 👍🏻 Just finished installing mine, it came out almost Perfect. No gaps or anything. Weighed both tanks, the factory tank with just the cap and all the stuff removed is 4lbs 13oz and the 3 gallon IMS with just the cap and all the stuff removed is 3lbs 14oz for anyone who cares lol
Very helpful video. I just heard the FedEx truck delivering my new tank so I'll be installing it today! Question: the old tank comes off with installation attached. You attached the new plastic tank without insulation. Have you noticed that it mattered or not?
@@MontageCreativeGroup Exciting! I haven’t noticed a difference. Just follow the instructions or my video ( both the same ) and you should be fine :). Enjoy the longer rides🤘
Thanks for the vid! I just installed the IMS 3 gallon on my '08 wr250r and the upper triple clamp is hitting the tank. It's very gentle on the left, but on the right, it actually has to deflect the plastic of the tank to turn the handlebar all the way. I worry this could break and puncture the tank after long-term use. I've tried readjusting the mounting plates to make it sit as far down and backwards as possible, but that didn't help. Does that happen in yours too?
Hi J L! I went with black cause it looked like factory. The blue color was tempting too… I feel like there is no point for natural cause the fuel light will still come on your dash and also I am not a fan of the natural look. Totally get why to do natural on the bigger tanks where the fuel fuel light is non existent and you can see how much gas you have but in this case you won’t be able to see much in the tank anyway. Hope this helps!
I have a hard time with the price for 1 gallon and you have to transfer all your stock part over just to mount it.. not worth the money for me. Its easier to just carry extra fuel canisters and its not 400 bucks
Is the O-ring that comes with the IMS tank significantly different that the stock O ring? I bought a used tank that didn't come with an O-ring and just transferred my stock one over, but I'm experiencing leaking.
Do you think you needed the Acerbis cap or could you have put the tank bag over the breather hose? Does the tank bag easily remove to access the gas cap?
I think the acerbis cap is a must if you are doing a tank bag as the tank bag would pinch the breather tube. My tank bag is super easy to access the gas cap. Just unclick two of the four buckles for quick access to the gas cap
I went with the 3 gallon as I wanted to keep the stock fairing look and didn’t want too much additional weight in the front end. Plus 3 gallons is plenty for me for the times I do longer distances.
