I want to do this so bad but I assume this setup would be significantly different for the 2010 track edition? Your interior looks nothing like mine really.
I'm looking into doing this. Have already done the GPS with the relocation kit. What do you use for GPS? Some people have told me to jailbreak my phone but I'd rather not. Is there a certain app you use?
If your ever in the Toronto area please let me know, I'd give you some cash if you'd install something like this in mine. I'd have everything here before you got here for sure. If you wanted to! Anyways, great looking setup and great job installing!
hola tengo un coupe genesis V6 2011. con audio Infinity. si cambio el stereo original pierdo la potencia necesaria para los parlantes y sub? puedo poner cualquier car stereo que sea doble din? gracias
Those type b brackets are sweet but hard to find, you can now also get Android based head units to replace the stock unit, they work well and work with steering wheel controls and let you add a backup camera.
@@Stipmprezza www.seicane.com/inch-android-touchscreen-radio-for-2000-2011-hyundai-kia-nissan-gps-navigation-system-bluetooth-music-backup-camera-s30701 It is shallow in the back and you still will need to do some trimming to the dash frame, which is plastic. But after you do that it fits right in. I tapped into the stock head unit power and illumination wires so it comes right on and dims with the lights. You can then get a rca out to 3.5 and run it to the stock aux in for audio. I don't use the radio function so didn't bother with the antenna. For the backup camera it has the guide lines built in so make sure your camera doesn't have them or they can be disabled in the camera. You will need to also connect the reverse sensing wire to you backup lights for auto switching.
@@Stipmprezza if you are replacing the stock head unit get the metra bracket and any of the universal Android units, I also have the Android 8 universal one in another car, it is super fast and has a ton of features, unfortunately for the bk1 Gen coupe upper install they offer just the one I linked to since it needs to be shallow
@@charleswp71 yeah I have a bk1 and thanks you actually helped alot because I like the whole tablet idea but the android units like you said have a bunch more features
Yes, all little trimming of the dash is required at the bottom where the bezel meets the dash. It would go on without trimming but just wont sit as flush
Hey man, do you have links to buy everything needed to do this process? I’m in Ontario, Canada. Not sure if that would effect shipping on any of the parts but I really want to do this to my car! Also is there any chance I could go iPad with this build?
Hi Ryan, would you be able to provide links to the materials needed to get this done? Kit, wiring, possible instructions, etc. Also I'd like to put an iPad mini up there instead of an Android tablet, would this work the same?
ipad should work much the same I would expect, so long as you can get a scripting app like tasker. As for parts. I sourced the bezel and relocation kits from places like importshark. Electrical stuff including OBD2 adapter was through Amazon. I'd suggest doing some research on the various forums for detailed instructions.
Hey thanks for the video ! I am going to buy one of these off import but just wondering if you would know of a 8inch tablet would fit ?? Hope to hear back from you
+Fernando Henriquez These bezel's are typically built for a 7" tablet, not 8". I went with a Acer tablet for this install but would look at the Google Nexus or perhaps a Samsung unit if I was doing another.
Hey man, is there anyway you can tell me how you did the scripts or whatever it is you did to make it power on/off with the car? I have everything ready to install it but just need to figure out the power issue.
I have an android head unit for my 2010 hyundai genesis coupe. I run torque through that but this is a better alternative because you can have torque open the whole time. Have you experimented with scripts that load torque automatically when the tablet powers on from suspended mode? If you have could you supply the script?
I need you to give me an installation quote lol i am far too busy to install myself on my genesis coupe. also could you show me the website you ordered the install kit from?
hey what version of Android are you running. Tasker won't allow me to set up a power on so if the car is parked for a while and battery dies I'd have to physically power it on I'm running 5.0.1
This is a problem that will always be an issue because regardless of OS version as I have yet to find a way to wake the device from a complete power off status. Best solution I have found is 1. Have tasker put the device in suspend mode and go into airplane mode when the car is off. This will shut down the GPs, wifi, etc. and allow the battery to last longer till the next time the car is started. 2. If your brave enough, open the tablet and wire an on/off button externally mounted somewhere to allow you to turn the device back on without having to remove it from the dash.
i wish i could find someone to install this for me. Does that acer have GPS? how do you install stuff onto the tablet? is there an usb cord or something?
Dbeau google play? so u can put movies and pics and songs on the tablet with google play? doesnt that take a long time to upload lets say a movie or software etc?
akuma4u I upload all files with an app called AirDroid that allows me to send the files from my desktop PC in the house as the tablet in the car connects to my wifi at home when the car is in the driveway.
I got a tablet installed yesterday but when I cut the car off it doesn't cut off automatically, also not connected Bluetooth and it makes noises when it's plugged into the cigarette lighter but in the USB port it's quite. and tips?
Did you setup a script to tell the tablet to go to standby when power to the charge cable cuts out ? Where is the noise coming from ? The stereo speakers or tablet itself ?
I had a shop do it but they never did it before. how do you do a script? and it's in the speakers ..... its only when I plug the tablet cord into the cigarette lighter jack... in the mp3 socket it's fine.
Ok thanks also how do you get the tablet to cut off automatically after five seconds of turning the car off? My tablet stays on after I turn the car off.
S.B. Fitness you could either use tasker pro or automate pro. www.gencoupe.com/interior-2008-2012/135554-yet-another-nexus-7-tablet-install-lots-documentation-pics.html#/topics/135554?page=1
Tablet is essentially on at all times. The scripts in automate it power down all un-needed services and the screen when power is cut (car off) and does the reverse when the car is turned on.
rocksolid551 use the lighter socket from where the factory radio now is. Then its some software to tell the tablet to "wake" when power is recieved (car turned on)
Hey Man If you are located within the Toronto Gta and can help me out with this as in write the scrips and stuff and help me with wiring I can pay you please let me jlnow
OBD Bluetooth adapter from Amazon. Bezel and relocation brackets from Importshark All other power adapters, audio cables and misc. components from a local electronics place like RadioShack.
