Great video, appreciate all the research you did. Every gamer I know has spent hundreds of dollars for loot box type rewards... quite a few of whom don't have that money to spare. Refused to buy Fortnite because of the pricing ridiculousness, only to have a friend buy it for me... this will keep happening as long as it's profitable. So... a very long time.

one correction: games dont need ESRB/PEGI rating to be sold in the US/europe (dependent on european country ) (EG steam doesn't need them ) the reason that there done is to be able to sell in phyical retail shops and the console manufacturer require them on all games sold for each platform the ESRB/PEGI system is voluntary system i can develop a pc only game sell it on steam and never go though either PEGI/ESRB

Thanks, that's really interesting. I wonder if the shift from physical stores to digital sales will have an effect on age ratings, whether they'll be seen less and less or if Steam and other distributors will be coerced into adopting them.
