This was a very technical performance. The way Ngannou would switch stances as Stipe moved laterally, the leg kicks when Stipe was close and the feints kept Stipe frozen. But all people see is the punches landing. Didn't swing wildly at all

He was technical af in this fight. Definitely caught Stipe off guard with his wrestling defense. That’s why he panicked and rushed after he landed flush and got dropped with a perfect check hook. Gane has kicks as well though. He can keep Francis guessing but it only takes one mistake.

1.Stipe came in light, this is why Ngannou was able to stuff and takedown Miocic. 2.Stipe was letting Francis work and gas, thats why it looked like Ngannou was winning the standup. 3.Stipe ran into Francis because he rocked him and got caught. Stipe kills Ngannou in trilogy.

In any case the 2nd fight was domination from Francis Ngannou, even if the score is 1-1 and its far more relevant now than their first fight back in 2018 when Ngannou was inexperienced. There's also been more white ufc champs than black latino and asian ufc champs COMBINED. Look it up. Not only that whites have started to take over Boxing and kickboxing. Needs to earn it much like Francis needed to earn that rematch against Stipe. This fight was too one-sided to warrant an immediate rematch. Stipe's accolades were already cashed in against DC. In addition Stipe suffered a brutal KO where he needs a long time to recover (the new champion shouldn't wait a year for the ex-champion to recover if they want to stay active) and has fought only 5 guys since 2018, he needs a break and a fresh matchup on his return. Not thrown into the fire right away against Ngannou 2.0 because reasons.

It would, but they tried to give stripe the advantage because of the wrestling… they thought the outcome would be the same and it wasn’t… now with Cyril they’re going give him a full size cage to try to take advantage of his speed but francis is the champion for a reason…

@@Cody12388 no way. The UFC and Dana are well known to NOT do Stipe any favours. Look at how he’s been treated since that fight. Greatest heavyweight ever arguably, categorically the most accomplished, and they’ve created an interim belt and not even given Stipe a sniff at a rematch. He should have had an immediate rematch, because they’re one a piece and because of what he’s achieved, but no. Go back to when Stipe took the belt off Dana and gave it to his coach to put on because of friction between him and Dana. The UFC and Dana wanted Francis to win that fight, and got their wish. The reality is he’s way raise to market. But it’s been interesting to see him fall out with them since in negotiations.

His prior accolades as champion were already cashed in against DC in their rematch. Fortunately for Stipe all he needs is a top 5 win or against Jon Jones to get another crack at the title.

Bruh, Ngannou's arms are like twice as thick as Stipe's. I can't believe Stipe took like 40 punches before going down. If he bulks to the same size I think the results could be quite different, but maybe he's become too old at this point.

Francis was humungous in there. He cuts to 265, he’s really not 265. Probably 280 he’s built like king kong. Stipe went in there 50 pounds lighter than him and got blasted. Results are much different if Stipe bulks up. I think it goes 5 rounds like the first fight.

This is a evolved HW division. The big boys now are all mostly tall, jacked, move a lot more swiftly, more well rounded, stronger and more explosive. Hasn't been this exciting since Lesners run.

I've never seen a fighter this scary.. Power like no one else Gane is definitely gonna be in top shape and quick as hell coming in again Ngannou, however if he gets clipped with the slightest connection he's going out.. I doubt that any human being can sustain his power at this point

Just a reminder the UFC is going to let this beast and bona-fide star leave UFC just because they refuse to even break out the wallet for their own champions. Dude is a freak athlete Tyson-esque knockout artist but because he wants to be fairly compensated and is rep'd by CAA, Endeavor's competitor in the talent agency space, the UFC is going to hand their own home grown HW star to some boxing promoter. Still think Endeavor buying Zuffa was a good thing? These are the last days of Troy. The UFC has the combat world under their boot but through sheer arrogance, stubbornness, and inscrutable sense of self-grandeur will eventually sour their name amongst the very people they need the most: the fighters. Fuck the UFC

Your comment is super insightful. Big up. Endeavor + Dana are so rich, connected, and popular that they probably feel bullet proof. I hope a day is coming when fighters unionize or get smarter about their business. Otherwise the status quo will remain for a long time. Sad to say but even freedom is not given freely. The fighters and their agents are the only ones who can fight for it and I really hope they do, for their own sakes.

@@yogi2983 Likewise but so far, despite this behavior being long documented, they rarely do. It will take Champs/stars exiting in succession to do so but even then, the UFC will not adapt. They will never adapt in a manner that makes them seem less than God-like in the equation, even tho 99% of fans don't care about the politics but just want to see the best fights. The UFC will eventually, perhaps not long from now, buckle under this combined weight,and fuck them, I hope they do. The UFC has fighting by the balls to the point that only they can destroy themselves, and it seems they are determined to do just that.

Stipe's right hand had almost nothing on it. He didnt get his hips in the punch. Francis pushed stipe when stipe threw his punch. Both were off balanced
