Thank you Professor Hermansen. I just took the MTEL for Communication and Literacy today. I found 2 of your videos last night and reviewed them. I was amazed at how helpful they were. I am working on my DESE license as I am a new school nurse. I am very grateful for your assistance! My results should be available in 2 week! Thanks again!

Thank you for these videos. Your tips have been the most helpful! You instill a belief that it can be done which I need. I'm a single parent at 51 yrs old. There was a time when I could ace English grammar. Oddly, after teaching young children for so long, I have forgotten a lot.

Quick question, can't I also put a comma on both independent sentences and still make it true or correct? So it would be, (I love the Marvel cinematic universe, I can't wait to watch Loki. )

Hi Roodeline!! No, you can't separate two independent sentences with a comma. That creates what's called a "comma splice." Here's a link that explains it really well: www.grammarly.com/blog/comma-splice/

I am having a really hard time with the changes and because of covid there is absolutely nothing for resources! I really want to give up. All I have is a study guide that has bad reviews. I'm in the same situation as Victoria. The only practice test I can find is the one provided on the MTEL site. I did notice in the MTEL English 7 video you posted that you have some handouts that give basic descriptions of the different genres. Can you please let me know the best way to contact you, so I can purchase those from you?
