No auto-tune, no backing tracks, no fireworks, no profanity - just pure, straightforward music with one acoustic guitar, meaningful, heartfelt lyrics and perfect harmony. That's they way music should always be. God bless you, Brian Wilson.
I grew up in the church of Christ and learned harmony there. To hear this song and "Don't worry Baby" along with the Everly Brothers helped my singing voice, tonality and pitch.
So beautiful the Day Brian goes will the day music dies Once again .... the world will not be a good place .... I love watching Brian and Al Jardine sing and talk... Chris Cross is also awesome.
Would be nice to see Bruce do some shows with Brian. Nice vocal blend on the pair. Poor Bruce just seems like such a muppet on Mike’s carnival act. His talents could really be used in Brian’s band. Oh well…. one can dream.
all right already …. who is ‘Bruce’…. and why are you doggging him … i don’t see any of you two naysayers onstage up there … so, where’s your $#!+ at you nobody bo bo bozo no no knuckleheaded twin peak pie holes
There’s more Beach Boys on Brian Wilson’s band than in the Beach Boys! Brian has: himself, Al, and Blondie (I think Carl would probably tour with Brian if he was still alive, Dennis retired?! 😂)
Where I and generations of the world’ s children retreated to escape abusive, mothers, fathers , sisters , brothers, teachers , friends , priests , ministers ,and ,nameless cretins.
OK, I need some help here. Obviously Brian Wilson and Bruce Johnston on one mic, Timothy B Schmit and Christopher Cross on the other. But is that Don Henley behind Tim & Chris? And who is on guitar, Randy Meisner?
@@NOWtheband Hell....NO. These are REAL musicians. People with actual skill, intelligence, and musical knowledge. Not the "wanna be's" that churn out today's garbage.
@@bengates1301 Autotune or pitch correction is common in both the studio and live performances. Not every voice can stay perfectly in tune. Don’t get it confused with the pop artists that overmanipulate their voices with it.
@@thesecondround0 Precisely. There are vocal effects used to augment the raw track and then there are people that can't sing in tune and don't put in the time and effort it takes to become an accomplished musician.
This is categorically without auto tune … because this is a blend of voices on two microphones and auto tune is only effective on solo singular notes … these talents are serious harmonic masters.
I recognize Chris Cross, TB Schmidt, and Brian. I think that's Gary Moore on guitar but sorry......who are the other two guys? No doubt they must be icons.......sorry guys!
The guy between Timothy & Chris (the one with the mullet) might be Joe Thomas, but it's hard to get a good look at him. The video description says its "from a 1999 film." If that's true, wasn't it around this time that Brian & Joe filed counter lawsuits against each other? That would have been awkward. And the guitarist is Jim Peterik, who co-wrote several of .38 Special's biggest hits - like "Hold On Loosely" & "Caught Up In You."
Scoff and laugh at me, if you want. But, I have actually emailed members of my church’s world famous choir, up in Salt Lake City, if you know who I mean, would try to do a version of this song, since it truly is spiritual in nature. Well, it’s worth a try.
