I didn't know that. I cannot wait to rewatch Blue Velvet on Criterion. It's among my top 50 Favorite films of All Time.

@@jesusperez7108 It looks great and the original audio was a very nice addition. For me, things like that are super important when releasing a definitive version, the only step up from here would be a UHD. I love Blue Velvet, it's one of my favorites of all time and I think David Lynch is a genius. Personally, in my life, his body of work really means a lot to me, more so than almost any other filmmaker even though there are definitely a few others. My brain was never so melted after seeing Mulholland Dr. in the theater. I did pick up The Elephant Man this sale and love that release! Picked up a few others too, my last trip will be to pick up the Fellini set, he's another Filmmaker whose work means a ton to me.

@@TheMisfitPond those are great choices. I know for a fact though that they will never put an A24 film on criterion because of branding and stuff.

No the Social Network and Tarantino films already have excellent Blu ray releases

@@thegodson4657 And one year later, Uncut Gems gets a 4K release on Criterion. To be honest, I think quite a few A24 movies will get a Criterion release, eventually. E.g. Lady Bird, The Lighthouse and Hereditary. But it could take at least three or four years

Autumn Sonata is a Bergman film ive never heard of. I always hear about about Seventh Seal and Persona. Where would you suggest i start?

@@TheMisfitPond I honestly don't think you can go wrong with Bergman. Autumn Sonata is my favorite- the acting is brilliant. If you're just starting out though, I'd recommend going with Persona or Cries and Whispers. I feel like they're a better introduction to his style and themes. The Seventh is also amazing but I don't think it's the best introduction to Bergman as a whole.

100% agree if you can get box set do it you won’t regret it, I am about to watch the last film tonight in the set autumn sonata.

Finally someone recommending Belle de Jour. I need to watch Luis Buñuel films. I own the exterminating angel but haven’t seen it yet.

@@TheMisfitPond I have seen three Buñuel and I think it's a good starting point. I started with Discreet Charm and did not enjoy it but I think that was because it was the first exposure. Also his film The Young and the Damned is excellent it's a Spanish version of 400 Blows.

I’m really looking forward to both the devils backbone and the elephant man! I’ve heard great things about Carnival of Souls. Might pick it up next time. Hopefully eventually I’ll watch the twin peaks show. I keep hearing the film is more gratifying if you’ve seen the show

Since it was half off, The Elephant Man was 20 dollars. The only criterion I bought that was more than 20 bucks was The Tree of Life.

I'm rewatching Michael Haneke's filmography to rank his films. I may feel differently after I rewatch the 97 Funny Games. The 07 Funny Games is actually my 7th film of all time.

I'm sorry dude. I just take issue with Dick Stinklater's writing. I think Dazed and Confused is solid. I love School of Rock. I just really hate Boyhood. There are far superior coming of age films out there like The 400 Blow Jobs or Y Tu Mama Tambien.
