Oh man, I will never get tired of seeing your face react when Geoff hits those crazy bass notes.

Layne not only arranged this, but he was also in charge of the filming. The car is his father’s, who bought it in 1972 and it’s been his only car ever since. They filmed outside of Pattycake Studios, but had to run extension cords for electric. (Lights, fog machine, fans, etc.). He also had the challenge of keeping the car’s lights on throughout the 5 hour filming session. Other challenges were the 80 degree plus heat, bugs, a stinky dumpster nearby and - being outside - gathering a curious crowd. But the end result was well worth it! Hope you had a great Birthday!

Geoff had some choice words for Layne when he saw his part and how low Layne wanted him to be. And then he sings in the basement (as well as stratosphere) in his solo, I See Fire. 😂😂 Even though they were all little kids at the time the show aired, they pulled off the Miami Vice vibe for this, reminding us why they earned the nickname theater kids of a cappella. JNone and Cesar are dressed like lead characters in Miami Vice except instead of JNones's jacket being cream with upturned cuffs like Don Johnson wore, J's jacket is red. But he and Cesar wearing the t-shirts with gold necklaces, and the car (1974?), belongs to Laynes Dad. Lots of cool cars and boats in Miami Vice. If you haven't seen/heard Phil Collins perform this masterpiece of his, you really need to. Phil was a MASTER DRUMMER so the drum breakdown solo is what everybody waits for in this song. Phil is absolutely WICKED on the drums. Layne did an AWESOME job recreating it! I mean WOW! I wish somebody could send thus to Phil Collins. He deserves to see what beautiful homage has been made to his masterpiece. Phil has been thru alot over past few years. He can't drum anymore due to nerve damage, so his son has taken over the drumming for his dad. Beautiful and sad. Again, Happy Birthday and I'm SO GLAD you got to experience this AWESOME piece! Voiceplay is an entity unto themselves!

It is so very cool. The car is Layne's dad. Every time they do something else, I think they can't possibly beat what they've done already and yet...then there is this. I could listen to it all day. So I was glad to see and listen to what you thought of this. It would be nice to get J None back. If you''re going to listen to Phil Collins, get the Phil Collins concert - 15 million views or maybe 150 million. That''ll be the one to listen to,- wrote this song for his unfaithful wife so there is some real feeling. VoicePlay measures up - it's astounding.

I remember this coming out originally and Phil is one of my favorite pop artists, if not THE favorite. VoicePlay just outdid him. The nostalgia, the feel, the authenticity they put into this, Layne killing that iconic drum solo--what a blast from the past. This put me right back into high school. And I just loved seeing Sassy Cesar. The time period between Cesar's clap and Geoff's low "oh, Lord" is just genius arranging. I mean, the whole thing is a work of art, but that section just "sang" to me; pun intended. This is why I'm saying my favorite VP or Geoff song is the next one. They don't have a ceiling. At. All.

Awesome reaction as always Qofy. This was filmed behind the Oviedo Mall where Pattycake Productions is located. It took them 5 hours in 80° weather.in Florida it's very humid so is worse than normal 80°. The car belongs to Layne's dad who has had it since 1972. That big drum solo that Layne did is very iconic to this song. Everyone that knows the song waits to see how well he pulls it off. And he did it perfectly. This was your birthday present from Voiceplay ☺️🎁.

This one has taken me a few listens to in order to appreciate it, probably cuz I like the original so much, but now I'm starting to like it, but unlike some of the other covers Voiceplay has done where I immediately liked their version better, I am still preferring Phil Collins', but I still think Voiceplay is amazing and I'm liking their version more and more with each listen. Happy Birthday!! I think I've listed to the behind the scenes for this song as much if not more than the song, it's so much fun! They were going through the song and Eli was warming up. J was dancing and having fun then suddenly stops and looks at Eli as Eli went to the high notes and you could hear J say Oh? Oh? and Eli let it rip and belted out that highest note. Despite the heat and humidity they had a lot of fun and oh, the extra singing we were gifted! J and Cesar duet beautifully.

This song was made to be J None's personal hit as a lead singer. Love how they arranged for the emotional beats to be J None's. Hopefully we can see his return soon to Voiceplay.

Of course I enjoyed the song anyways, but you add to it! I do wish that they had isolated that drum solo a little more. It was fantastic, but not quite as loud as I would have liked to better match the original. I tend to think Layne was just a bit too humble with it. However the vocal climax right after, with everyone else going strong, was really wonderful!
