Fantastic show. Fun and hilarious, too. Excellent picks from the panel. I couldn't do a proper ranking of my favorite singers, to be honest, but in the world of progressive rock, Christian Vander would easily take the top spot for me (he's not for everyone, of course, but he could do so much with his voice.) Most all of my favorites (and usual suspects) were mentioned in the video (David Pack, Todd Rundgren, Kasim Sulton would be a few right off the bat that I can't recall getting mentioned.) Cool for Steven to show love for Hold Your Fire. It was the second Rush album I bought, and loved it immediately; I'll always have high regards for that one. And his description of Kate Bush was hilarious (and the not giving a...well, you know, I suspect was accurate.)

I love how the chat semi-devolved from talking music into Pizza!! I will say I was a guilty party to it though. LOL!!! I am not a big Prog fan, but I do like some of it while a lot of it I have never heard before, thus I will only pick one. Annie Haslam from Renaissance. What I love about Annie is that in many songs from Renaissance, her voice was used as another accompanying instrument in the band's sound. The best example of course is in Ashes Are Burning live where she uses her voice to fill part of the void from not having the guitar solo near the end. It was done on the album by Andy Powell from Wishbone Ash.

Peter Hammill is hands down the greatest prog vocalist IMO, no one comes even close.

I increasingly want to develop my own channel to talk about music--not to compete with this one, but to have enough clout to have Pete want me on this show. In a similar boat, another keyboard player, Woolly Wolstenholme, wasn't so great live but on those Harvest albums and early singles like Poor Wages, before BJH tried to become The Eagles, he turned in some great performances.

James LaBrie: When I first heard "Images and Words," my mind was blown away Geddy Lee: I can remembering hearing "Free Will" over the warm up music that was being played before I saw Queensryche in 1991. I was walking to my seat, but I was just so floored and enamored by this voice, the great hooks and lyrics, and the heavy and complicated but catchy music. I did not know who the band was at that moment. Even though I had heard of Rush, it had only been a name I had seen in my older brother's tape collection. It didn't take me too long to track down the "Permanent Waves" and also the "Moving Pictures" albums. I've been a huge fan ever since. Steve Walsh: What a powerful, beautiful voice when he was in his prime! Jon Anderson: His otherworldly yet gorgeous voice perfectly fits the music of Yes. Ian Anderson: Aqualung is one of my all time favorite albums, but Ian is such a distinct voice that sounds amazing on all their albums.

Not too long ago, i would have said I preferred Geddy Lee's voice on Rush's earlier albums when he was singing the high notes, but I've recently come to appreciate his voice more on their recent albums. In fact, I don't know if I don't like their more recent albums more.
