Join me as I paint in a magnitude of sky reflections in the distant and foreground water followed by many intricate foam trails in this gentle acrylic sunrise piece.
It important with the reflections to alter tonal value from the distant ocean nearing the shoreline. as the foam trails needs tonal variations and consideration depending on their location - whether in direct sunlight or shadow. Remembering acrylics dry a couple of values darker so start with a lighter tone on the palette.
When using my techniques adding ocean reflections always make sure your brush is quite well soaked with water before adding the paint to ensure it just glides across the canvas smoothly, making painting time enjoyable - not a fight against the universe lol.
I have fully Instructional Acrylic Wave Seascape Tutorial available to purchase from my website.
I offer online zoom private painting lessons and onsite classes in oils and acrylic.
Check out my new Coastal Oil Series recently released while you're there.
