Our friends at Eschatology Matters held another poll on Twitter/X this time asking who would be best for President of an imaginary network of churches. Keith won and is now offering his inaugural address.
Let's be real: Pastor Keith would be a better candidate for president of anything than any actual major party nominee for U.S. president for more than a century.
I endorse this ticket. Solid values, great record on guns, most excellent movie recommendations, and the rest of the world leaders knowing that they’re negotiating with a Florida Man. I’m in.
I was brushing my teeth during the “secretary of clickbait” part and it was all I could do to not spew toothpaste all over the mirror 😂. (And for the record, I love Joel Webbon!)
If KF is elected president, I’m moving to Arminia… …that’s not a spelling error, that’s the joke…or it would be if it didn’t require explanation. Congrats KF. You aren’t funnier than Biden, but I can enjoy laughing WITH you instead of AT.
Hey guys I have a question for you, is it a sin to watch a film or show where God’s name is taken in vain. I’ve heard arguments on both sides of the issue I’m just not sure what to do.
In short, no it's not, but if you believe it is then don't watch it as you would be going against your conscience (and therefore for you it would be sin to do what you thought was wrong). Like other sins (which will be shown in any movie), you are not the one doing the sin itself, however your moral and ethical accountability ends in the conviction as to whether your viewing actively and directly encourages that sin, (Ie. watching a movie that is literally created to be blasphemous in it's premise, name, etc, may not be appropriate and ), whether it is tempting you through something (like lust for example), and whether you are filling your mind with things that are good. In my country "Jesus" & "God" is used blasphemously regularly on TV, in work places and in the street - we can't answer everyone who uses them blasphemously (nor can and should we answer all fools), and it is a wisdom-based decision as to when and how we engage, different people using them will call for different responses (e.g. are they already aware they are sinning by their blasphemy or are they a young believer and has come alongside them and pointed it out to them before?). Hope this helps, feel free to pushback if something I have written doesn't seem right, I know it is easy to write things that are misunderstood (or I can be wrong for which I welcome your feedback too!). God bless you brother!
Romans Chapter 14 Verse 14: "I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean." If your Conscience is telling you not to watch, then, please, do not watch, because it is a sin to go against your conscience!
