@@abhi-_- Can you cite some reliable source for this information? There are many areas in India which do not have 24/7 electricity and some with no electricity at all. Even some areas in the major cities suffer electricity cut off during the peak hours of summer.

@@prakashth : Electricity can be produced by Hydro Electricity (Water) Solar Energy and Wind Energy. If Solar Energy is utilised to the maximum level, India can solve most of the electricity problems. They can install Solar Panels on waste land and in deserts. In mountainous and hilly regions, they can install Wind Mills or Wind Turbines to produce Wind Energy.

Additional Details about Rhino 5536 IPLT 160-kW twin gun fast charging can lay the blueprint for pan-India network. 276-kWh Lithium Titanate battery (which is sufficient for a range of 250-300km in a small hatchback) Battery Pack has an in-built air-conditioned secondary cooling system to maintain temperature around each cell at below 35 degree Celsius even when ambient temperature climbs above 50 degree Celsius. The 276 kWh battery pack weighs in at above 2 MT and is one of the largest packs in use in India.

@@hp2084 if they buy a regular truck, a barebones chassis+cab, it will not cost a lot. A bulk of the cost is the engine and tranny. ihave not considered taxes and other costs. It will be closer to .9 crores.

Great Initiative, We have long way ahead in this segment and it is a good start. Albeit as a logistics company nobody would hardly consider EV in general in India. 1. 100KW charging isn't fast enough (tesla model 3 comes with 250KW and other manufactures do it around 200KW) especially for logistics industry where time is money. 2. Lack of charging stations. India currently lacks this in a big way. We have to place the necessary infrastructure first before even asking automobile sector to manufacture EV (and ban of ICE vehicles) 3. Aerodynamics features aren't there which could improve effeciency but it depends on road conditions and with current indian infrastructure(% of expressway in india) this isn't a big issue. 4. Safety features : nothing done on this. We hardly design anything in india to save lives (we don't lack people) This can be seen as we don't have much vehicle with 5 star safety ranking.

There will not be any lack of Charging Stations in India in the next 5-7 Years because the Central Govt. has decided to establish an EV charging Station at every 1Km in Almost every City in India and on every National Highway there will be a EV charging Station located at 100 Km Distance.

@Pavan Kumar charging time with normal AC 15-20kw wallbox for a 40kwhr battery of a car is around 6-10hr. So considering a Semi/lorry with much bigger battery pack will take lot more time than this without DC fast chargers (50KW atleast).

If the figures of range are even 70% at fully loaded then, Generally the stop time for a truck is when either the truck is loading/unloading or the drivers have stopped for a food/sleep break, that time is around 90-120 Minutes. So The charging will be done at the loading facility, Dhabas and Stopping points.

Don't be stupid. This one is just a 400km range. Tesla truck which is expected to come in 2020 has a mileage of 300-500miles. No one in us would buy 400km range truck. Also the specs look suspicious to me look at a comment i made.

Still it will be efficient. Coz the petroleum is transported from refineries to pumps by trucks and they require a lot of fuel & energy , whereas electricity can be transferred through power grid with far less cost & wastage & emissions.
