Chief Guest address by Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Government of India at the #ETAutoNGVC, where he said, it is high time India should develop cost-effective, pollution-free and indigenous fuel option. He also highlighted that with the increased production of ethanol, the government is aiming to cut down Rs 1 lakh crore in crude imports and invest in agriculture to create jobs. At present India is spending close to Rs 7 lakh crore (20 per cent of the overall budget) on the import of crude oil that pose a monetary as well as a strategic burden on the Indian economy.

Enthusiastic technocrats should come out and join hands with this hard working minister looking for new ideas to solve old problems. Farmers should be rescued by value adding methods that will give them higher revenue! People of the nation need to appreciate the farmers, the important contribution the farmers give for the country and allow the government to do what ever it takes to help the farmers.

Mr Nitin Gatkari is an effective and very innovative person. He has also given boost to the newly built tunnels and highways. Excitation of the available water resources (Ganga, yamuna & Brahamputra) in economize the transportation. He is also using the alternative to conventional petrol/ diesels to other easily available chemicals. We wish him all the best. It will be a great help to improve the driving, traffic rules to really effective which has been neglected so far by the earlier governments.

I am a great fan of Shri Nitin Gadkari and always pay due attention while listening to.his speech which are mostly full of inovative ideas. I am very keen to know the bio desiel production through bamboo produced in Karnataka. This bamboo has a very good production result and can be used for producing bio desiel. I will be glad to campaign on this subject in rural areas of our state in West Bengal if I could get full details of this bamboo plantation.
