It was highly prestigious event which endia was expected to win but failed...worst part for them was that they got beaten in the group match against Mighty Pakistan team very comprehensively.
I was a student of class 5 then . We watched the Nehru Cup matches live on DoorDarshan with my elder brothers and their friends . I still recall Wasim Akrams first ball 6 of Viv Richards in the final at Eden Gardens that clinched the title for Pakistan against WI.
I watched this match on DD live telecast.. its a wonderful days to watch such a legendary players like Imran Khan, Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Javed Miandad, Viv Richards and others
If this tournament had been played in England or Australia then video quality would have been very good..indian old match video quality looks very poor...
Yes, India were a very good ODI side but that innings by Miandad, possibly one of the top 5 innings ever played in ODI changed that. But for the past few years India has the advantage over Pakistan

#KrisSrikanth is the only batsman I have seen being run out two times after slipping and falling on the pitch. The first time was in Australia 🇦🇺 during a world series match of the 1986 season. He should have got better spikes while he was still playing international cricket. 😑

What a disaster it was. We were 150 runs for no loss and then suddenly all collapsed. Kapil Dev & Co. shud hve resigned long back . They brought desrepute to nation. BCCI shud hve overhauled the whole team bcoz we didn't have Quality match winning fast bowlers nor good batsmen . .
