Hi I’ve tried this diet for 2 and a half weeks and I’ve lost weight visibly (I don’t believe in checking the scale but roughly seems like 3-4 kgs). I hardly worked out 4 times in this duration but stuck to the diet. It was not hard at all to consume lesser calories per week, and cannot wait to try the full 4 week program next time. I’ve done a lot of research on Veg keto diets and I must say this is the best veg Indian keto diet I’ve found. Good luck to everyone trying it.

Hi Ishu , Thanks fpr you kin words , Infact only the dishes with zero carb can be ketgenic . so most food mentioned in the video are not keto . as mentioned in the beginning of t he video , we have modified it to suit to the requirement and convenience of a vegetarian person .

Hence it's a little misleading. I would highly suggest to choose words carefully. People please do some research before following such lifestyles . I too follow keto lifestyle . It is good but only if you have done proper research and take all precautions . This video is an initial guide for beginners to adapt keto lifestyle slowly over a period of 1 month by eliminating carbs gradually week after week . However there are a few things which are not clear . In keto we do not consume carbs except fibre . We are allowed upto 10-50gm net carbs according to our metabolism and activities. So things like black chana , moong , fruits(except strawberry, blueberry, backberry) are not allowed on keto because it uses up your carb limit . Think like this you have 30rs to spend . Now you can buy a piece of chocolate with that 30 rs or you can buy some healthy salad or eggs with that . All you have to think is about using it wisely to fill your stomach . Along with that it also depends on a lot of factors such has hormones and others ways in which your body reacts to food .
Ghee ... is important... and a must in vegetarian keto .... avoid vegetable oil completely ... cuz they lead to oxidative stress... Coconut oil is the best thing.. remember it

Hi Prakhar , thanks for watching our video. you can use legumes as long as they fit in your carb bracket .. plus when you soak the legumes over night , you actually use only 15 gms raw to make a bowl ful of the dish. it swells up to be double the amount ... so there are a lot of things you can experiment with , rather than just eating paneer all the time. i have been doing it with my clients who take personal diets , and trust me , most indian foods specially the vegetarian sources are the most unexplored ones in terms of keto ... if you do the math right , its all in your hands,

Also to scientifically tell you , while following the diet we tested urine sample on keto strips , which predicted ketones present . And only after that we have put up this plan.

However , for a vegetarian to follow keto is not really possible, as all the vegetarian protein foods come with some amount of carb. Hence the plan is made up by using the foods that can provide as low carb as possible and still help the person attain ketosis. Alot of our viewers have been successful in losing weight with this plan. If you are a vegetarian , and really want to lose weight , its definitely worth a try.

Hi , when following keto you need to calculate your carbs. specially if you are a vegetarian , you cannot have a 0 carb diet , coz only foods with 0 carbs are meat foods. so if a vegetarian needs to follow keto diet , you have to use some 5- 10 % carb in your diet , so calculate it and have what suits .. if you dnt want to have channa and rajma , you dont eat that .. calculate your carbs from other foods.

No! You cant consume chickpeas( safeed chana) rajma(kidney beans) or kala chana. They contain alot of carbs (65gm approxin each of these) and it is mandatory that you keep your carbs very low( below 50gm ). The reason behind 5%-7% carbs is only because all vegetables has a little amount of carbs. So those are carbs we are consuming. Thus we cant consume anything which is made up of carbs only like channa etc.
Hi Abdul , yes true ... actually the diet mentioned in the video is calculate for macros , and if you time your chickpea or red channa intake , for just 1 serve of lentil a day and that too in the mentioned quantity , it will not change your carbs intake .. we have tried it ... so if the menu timed properly , you will very much remain in the limit and experience weight loss.. Because all plant based foods contain some or the other amount of carb , hence this indeed is a little difficult.

I am confused and not clear about your diet. You said no besan at first and later you are suggesting to consume Chana. Besan comes from chana weather its white chana or black chana.
Hi Baljeet , there is nothing to be confused. when you use channa , you soak it , it doubles in its weight, and respectively the carb content reduces. for ex - 10 gms of channa when soaked it will become 20 gms , so now thw carb that was to be provided by 10 gms are of carb , you are intaking by eating 20 gms of channa. I hope i am clear to you .... where in when you take besan , the same 10 gms of raw channa will grind to be 5 gms of besan , so if you take 10 gms besan you actually take the carbs that are provided by 20 gms raw channa.
Hi Shikha , if you are a vegetarian , and on keto , then including lentils in the first week is ok. slowly as uou move up the weeks, you can rely only on paneer. however, i personally too use lentils / chickpea / mung dal in higher weeks of keto on my clients and we have managed to get amazing results as well. Keto is actually very westernized diet . I follow my own indian version on my clients and it really works ! you can try if you wish too.

There are a lot of keto followwers and they truly beleive in the magic of this diet. To be honest , i too had some similar questions in my mind when i started researching on it. and to my surprise , a lot of my clients benefitted with amazing weight loss , and specially in blood sugar control . However , i feel that this diet is not safe to follow for more than 50 - 60 days in continuation. as there arent enough researches conducted on the long term effect of this diet. coming to your questions : By eliminating carbs altogether, where will the energy come from? payal - it comes directly from fat. the theory is that once your body loses its glucose and glycogen store , it turns towards body fat for its energy requirements and fats are broken down in to glucose by a chemical cycle called - Gluconeogenesis.
