I really would like to know if the Boulder sequence will come up as a deleted scene. Because there is absolutely NO REASON why Lucasfilm still continues to use it in promotional cuts even after the movie is out WITHOUT this sequence. Baffled!
Disappointing, sure, but the runtime was already probably too long. It may have been left on the cutting room floor for that reason. I'd like to see it on the blu-ray director's cut or something like that. I really enjoyed Dial.
Does he ever actually say, "I've been looking for this all of my life" in the movie? I don't remember it. I'll listen out for it when I go back to see it today.
@the_0racle Well, that's my opinion... but I'm a die hard Indy fan. Maybe a casual viewer would disagree. There's even subtle ironies and stuff you'll pick up on if you watched the Young Indiana Jones series. I think it was well handled and was very satisfied. They didn't ruin this one like they did Willow.
We saw DOD on Sunday and loved it!!! What a fun movie! It was a fast moving movie with a really and smart storyline, great cast with chemistry and one last chance to Harrison Ford as Indy and on the big screen. What a real treat this movie was. So much fun and takes you down memory lane. Great movie!
Harrison Ford the legend, one of my all time favorite actors, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was an amazing adventure, Thank you for making my childhood special with your amazing movies 🤠
This movie was actually incredible. I’m shocked. And I heard so many bad things about it from people who saw it on RU-vid. You guys. This movie is actually good.
All this hate is solely content creators trying to get clicks. I'm pretty sick of the "a year before the movie starts filming" critical movie reviews. (I guess that would technically be non-objective, biased, speculative, negative whiney baby PRE-views.) They start saying stuff like "bombed horribly," "it's a disaster," and "Disney's profits tank" two weeks before the movie comes out. Maybe THEY are using the Dial of Destiny to see the future. Anyway, I have NO use for any channels like that, and I have gone through and unsubscribed from a bunch of RU-vid channels this week. I encourage everyone else to do the same. Maybe then these haters will stop profiting off of ruining the movie going experience for the real fans. Their predictions and speculations are usually wrong... but it's fake news anyway, when it's written before it happens, so what good is it? Is just a waste of my time, and I don't enjoy the REALLY negative attitudes most of these content creators have. Mike Zeroh's "sources" at less reliable than the Weekly World News tabloid from the 90's. Doomcock just makes stuff up. People like The Critical Drinker seems to try to piss off the fans. Unless your channel demographic is anti-fans (haters in general, I guess) then what is the thinking there? Then there are those who have an "anti-woke agenda" agenda. An agenda against another agenda is still an agenda. I'm tired of politics in my entertainment. I pay these people to entertain me, not advise me. (I wonder how many court jesters in history were actually advisers to the king. LOL) 🤔 I am about the art form. I want stories for the sake of stories, not to persuade or groom me. I am definitely not a fan of woke, but you aren't much better off you go completely the other way. Stay objective and neutral. Let the viewers decide for themselves. Don't get mad when something turns out not to be woke afterall, so now you got nothing too hate on about it. Celebrate that we finally got another classic... and they didn't mess it up. Admit when you're wrong, which is hard to do when you've bashed it for the year prior and was COMPLETELY wrong. Do it anyway... it will give you more credibility, and I will respect you for it... not for sticking to your false guns though. Dial of Destiny was REALLY good...and (at first) I thought maybe Steven Spielberg was just saying that because he was being modest and also didn't want to bash a franchise he started and still was producer on, but after seeing it, I think he was completely sincere when he said, "Damn. I thought I was the only one who knew how to make one of these." Mangold handled the property with respect, good taste, and an obvious admiration for the character...and as a fan, I REALLY appreciate that more than anything.
@@wookieesasquatch I agree with most of what you said here. I won’t stop following those other content creators you mentioned solely because I want objective views from everyone. HOWEVER, yes… I do feel they are wrong about this one. It just goes to show you how much Kathleen Kennedy is hated for what she did to Star Wars. I feel like Chris Gore could’ve been more honest with himself on his reviews. I feel like Mr. H’s FIRST solo review on Indy 5 was fair, but then he released ten other subsequent videos saying it’s trash just because of the box office take. Look. Disney and Lucasfilm totally missed the target audience on this. BUT the reviews on this movie are for the most part total BS. IT IS TRUE that the box office for it is weak, but there are a lot of factors contributing to the situation. THIS FILM IS EXCEPTIONAL. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m a lifelong Indy fan. I have watched the originals countless times and I know what Indy is supposed to be. This film really does honor him. It is shot beautifully. There are a couple things I would’ve done differently. I would’ve casted Chris Pratt as a young Indy in the younger scenes and not broke the bank on the facial replacement stuff. Yeah it was cool to see but it was also a bit wonky. You don’t need that much CGI in an Indy film. Also, for instance… the CGI used on the bomb sinking thru the ceiling via the carpet…. Was CGI really needed there? Could that not be done practically and look way better? So yes, there are things to question, but this movie really is great. The ones who are at fault for the current box office situation are Disney and Lucasfilm and it’s been a long time coming. But all we can do is spread the good word about how exceptional this film is. I really appreciate Harrison Ford’s take on an older Indy who still has it, in my opinion. And finally, Mike Zeroh is a clown. I never watch that dudes videos. Doomcock is kinda silly and for some reason listening to his news requires me to consume copious amounts of sodium and it’s just bad for the diet.
I could've watched an entire movie made like the first 20 minutes. I prefer Indy in his prime kicking ass, not bumbling and struggling. Still loved the movie!
AI is progressing so quickly, Harrison Ford should sell his likeness to Disney since he doesn't want anyone else to play Indy.... then they could make unlimited WWII/Nazi Era adventures! 😁
Helena is disarming a boulder trap. It's in version 1 of the movie where Indy sets traps for himself (it's originally his own tomb he finds, guarded by traps set by Indy, skeleton wearing his "father's watch" - remember the movie goes out of the way to mention it when Teddy steals it). So Indy is "finding himself" in a kind of physical metaphor. Or outsmarting the version of himself who didn't survive in ancient Greece. It figures - a boulder trap is the kind of trap Indy knows and remember best, and a callback to the first moments of the franchise.
The Dial of Destiny is great!!! A movie that deserves going to the cinema. I loved it and I am a fan of the saga. Don't listen to the haters and m0r0n critics. JUST GO!!!!
The film is a cash grab and it’s clearly bad. “Moron critic” just because you don’t agree with criticism you can’t just call the people haters and morons because they were fans of the franchise and they are giving helpful feedback which you people take as hate because your some what incapable of using your brain. In my opinion don’t watch it, not worth your time
This movie is so fun . I love the chemistry between Helena and Dr Jones . I hope the movie breaks the box office . James Mangold and his vision for the film is great 🤠🤠🤠 .
Wow a lot of bots and simps commenting trying to promote this movie. Doesn't change the fact that it's flopping and set to lose a fuckload of money. Well hopefully if any good comes from this will be Disney hopefully finally seeing that Krazy Kathy is the absolute worst person to run Lucasfilm and should stay the heck away from any creative control on any projects until her contract is up.
Any chance for a clip with Indy arriving to meet Antonio Banderas' character? - that was quite a memorable entrance, both the means of transport and the theme - it suited the character beautifully. And simple at the same time.
I've been an Indiana Jones fan since being a kid in the 80's and had high hopes for this, but i read these comments and wonder who is posting these glowing reviews, I'm not telling you don't go, just pay attention to what your watching, it isn't the 80's anymore lol, clear agendas in there, and it isn't your kids entertainment
Something just occurred to me. The band Aqua had consecutive hits Barbie Girl and Dr Jones, now there's the first Indiana Jones movie in 15 years then a Barbie movie within a few weeks of each other. Who would have known?
Really enjoyed the movie! It left me wanting more!! I have a great idea for a 6th and FINAL movie to round out the old man Indy trilogy… Call me up if you need an idea, I’ll work for free!
Pleasantly surprised to see actual audiences reacting positively to this film. There's a lot of RU-vid grifters trying to stoke the flames of outrage to generate clicks, which is $$$ for them. Dial is a great film. I'm very happy it exists.
I liked the movie but it would make money if they had Marian, Sallah and even Short Round on the journey. Knowing Lucasfilm, though, they might kill Sallah so he may want to stay back with the kids again.
@@HighTide_808 That's debatable. Mandalorian and other Disney+ Star War series have met rave reviews, and Dial of Destiny is getting a lot of good reviews from audiences. Lucasfilm under Kennedy's direction has course corrected since The Last Jedi flop, it was 6 years ago and fans need to just let it go already.
Should have made short round the new Indy. Should have done more real world and less green screen. Should have kept briger on the sideline and NOT doing press. She is not good at marketing a film. Insulting the main fanbase is not the way to go, especially in todays climate. I mean read the room chick, y'know what I'm saying?
Is this lucas film employees in the comment section trying to save their jobs? Sry guys to late, you have destroyed every single thing of value the company had. this movie is awful. Its the same crap disney does in every marvel show/ movie these days. Bait and switch. Degredates a male char to raise up mary sue know it all char. Why do these people think in a time of hyper inflation people are going to spend what little money they have left to see their heros shat upon. They never learn. How does Kathleen Kennedy still have a job. How could she do this to the people that gave her a career. Eeww
