Agree with all the differences you listed - the neutering, the lack of horror elements, the challenge of getting behind a character with such unlikeable qualities, the lazy use of CGI vs using an on-location stunt team like Wade Eastwood or Chris Corbould to create memorable thrills, the missed opportunity of Sallah vs the puzzling decision to go with a 2 minute cameo. Bizarrely, the movie has aged the worst out of the franchise despite being the most recent because of the dependency on animation and the odd choice to shoot on digital so that it doesn't look as expensive or as cinematic in scope as the other movies. Would love to hear your thoughts on Barbenheimer if it suits you.
Id give this move a 7, they did it like the old indies, was kinda dumb. I didn’t mind it. No expectations, I enjoyed it. Crystal skulls I couldn’t finish it was that ridiculous.
Couldn't agree more. I was tired of watching reviews of fans and reviewers acting like this movie was any good. It makes Crystal Skull look like a good movie. "Gravedigger" is the exact word I was looking for to describe it. It was boring, disappointing and totally off tone. Even Indy games, like Staff of Kings, Fate of Atlantis and Emperor's tomb have way better plots than Dial of Destiny. I just wish they didn't make this movie at all.
