Yep. We learnt from the insomniac leaks how expensive these licence deals are. Disney are taking 25% of every sale. Puts even more pressure on the game selling well to make a profit Also they tend to put clauses on it like it has to sell at least 5 million copies inorder to keep the licence for a sequel ect.
I think, unfortunately, that Microsoft hardware will be a thing of the past unless their handheld takes off. I love my Xbox Series X, but after all of these software acquisitions, they've positioned themselves to be a huge publisher with a TON of IP and developer support. They would end up making more money putting their games on all platforms and abandoning their underperforming console. And if I can figure that out, certainly Microsoft leadership has as well.
Destin yesterday "Imagine being able to play PlayStation games on your XBOX sickkkk" Destin today Heavy sigh "another XBOX game is going to PlayStation" 😂😂😂😂
Now people are saying they shouldn't have said anything about Indy coming to PS during the show. This is the flip flopping we constantly see across the board. A double minded man is an unstable one.
I've been loyal to Xbox since 2014 ten years and I'm an Xbox ambassador. If PS5 pro comes out I'm buying it and you 🫵 better believe it will be my main. Your right leak is true Bethesda just announced spring of 2025 for PS5 and December 9th 2024 for Series X and S
I swear to god MS will NEVER get their messaging and rumor management right. The slow decline of consoles is one thing, but they're purposefully accelerating it and shooting themselves in the foot, doing NOTHING to boost console sales and then they complain that "well we have to kill our console because the sales are stagnating". Until 2020 they couldn't get their software right, but hardware was superb. Since 2020 software is the last thing I worry about with them, now they completely throw their hardware out of the window.
i am no fan boy either. I am all in for games launching in all platforms day one. But I also understand business. I own all three platforms. If xbox goes full third party, its fine by me. It means my series s has no reason to stay and I can sell it. I can play my games on PS5 and PC. I am keeping PS5 mainly for early exclusives, sometimes better 60fps experience than broken PC releases and multiplayer popularity for some games as compared to PC.
Microsoft "Who cares if nobody is buying an Xbox! Let's give them ZERO reasons to buy one ever, and why would we even make one next gen because we are already giving up ALL reasons to own one!" They are braindead, it blows my mind how much they aren't seeing this will ruin console sales.
It's quite nice of Xbox to announce the PS5 ports of their games on a public stage and in the trailers on their own RU-vid channel to make sure that everyone, even the hardcore fan who only follows official Xbox social media channels, knows, that they don't need another Xbox console. I've said it again and again...this is a soft exit from the console business. They're going to keep their console users around until they don't need them and then they're going to announce that they're not making another console. I do know that Xbox has said that they're working on the next thing but in all honesty: What public statement or reassurance to the fans didn't age like milk?
Right?? Its insane. They cant sell a 250$ next gen console to safe their life. But think a xbox handhel would sell. Meanwhile the switch 2 is about to drop
If this is true f*** Xbox. I’m done supporting them. This is such a slap in the face to the loyal fan base. We’re not getting Sony exclusives in return. There’s no point in owning one.
If these rumors turn out to be true, Xbox has completely lost their identity. They might as well just come out and say they’re now a 3rd party publisher. Stop trying to walk the fence. Their messaging is a complete mess. They come across like they have no faith in their own brand. Just be transparent, and stop flip flopping.
@@lol101lol101lolz I don’t think it’s garbage, I just think they have no direction. I prefer Xbox over Playstation, but they seem be losing faith in their own brand.
@@tinobrown1780 this didn't happen in 2024, this happened in 2013 with Don Matterick. Phil Spencer was the icing on the cake and for over a decade they have been making just bad business decisions over another
I think it’s a shame that the timed exclusivity is so short. Xbox finally has a fall lineup of consistent first party games and it feels like Satya and the board are barely giving it a chance to see how hardware sales increase. They should have held on to these exclusives for well over a year before bringing it over to PS5. If Xbox Series sales continue to tank, then Xbox might just become Sega and focus on publishing games and putting game pass on every platform rather than make consoles.
Wouldn’t Sony just releasing its own PS5 handheld completely destroy Xbox’s plans when both Sony and Xbox games are easy to play from one optimized PS store /platform?
Not sure why this is such a hard concept for some. If you prefer console and prefer Xbox/gamepass there is a lot of points in having an Xbox. No point in having a PS since PS has no games and obviously on the decline. You'd also have to be willing to be cool with that big btch in your space.
One you use literally wrong and two , PlayStation has a lot more exclusives than Xbox . Xbox is a publisher that is all . Smart move is pc . Also Xbox hardware is becoming irrelevant.
Tried to tell Xbots this years ago maybe it’s FINALLY sinking in. Those heads are made of metal after all😂. No point wasting on GamePass or Xbox all the games and more on Switch and PS5.
Destin: WHAT IF Xbox kills their store revenue and replaces it with steam to get PlayStation games? Xbox: HB we just give our games and store revenue to PlayStation!
Rumors aren’t always right I don’t believe them until Phil Spencer says it’s coming to PS5 I’ll believe it he works for Microsoft Xbox not rumors their guessing is all it is just like rumors thought the next Zelda game was going to be called breath of the wild 2 when it wasn’t instead it’s called tears of the kingdom
@@DeathcoreManiache doesn’t have to say anything that’s more to believe the rumors are all lies since I own every console I don’t much care if it goes on PS5 or not you must be a PlayStation fan that owns only PlayStation consoles to why you care
The reason i’m willing to bet it’s true and that there are NDA’s for it. Is because I’ve seen some Xbox influencers brag last week they knew what the ported game would be but couldn’t say. And those same people aren’t reporting on this rumor.
I couldn't care less about xbox porting their games as long as they keep making hardware but I'm so sick of this conversation at every release... they should just come out and be honest but the problem is I don't think even they know what they're doing
It feels like this just signals the power struggle going on inside MS and Xbox. I'd imagine the XBox team thought they could hold off getting rid of all console exclusivity but the board of directors has put enough pressure on Satya that Phil, etc plans to try to hold off, has changed. Now launch exclusivity will be limited for almost anything that will be thought to sell a lot on PS5.
They’ve really screwed over Xbox fans here. I mean if Microsoft were willing to pay for all them studios, then they should also be willing to make a loss until things turn by keeping games fully exclusive to bring in new audiences.
This dude is the same person who said before thet no xbox XL exclusives will come to ps5 in regard to HifiRush. He also never even said this would either he only said rumors. Don't give him this credit.
Probably should call them Microsoft Gaming rather than Xbox Gaming. Ms is the new Activision/Blizzard/King third party publisher, except much bigger, and is probably now the biggest gaming publisher out there.
Remember when Xbots were declaring 2024 as their big year (same song since 2009)? PS5 ate its lunch, yet again! What has the Xbox exclusive line up for this year been? 😂
Xbox needs PS more than they think. The Xbox customer isn’t enough and hasn’t been for a while. Partly in fault of Xbox themselves because they’ve conditioned their fanbase not to buy games. More games will follow suit.
Its not about needing the game sales of PS users. Its about getting some of those users to jump to Game Pass. Basically to entice with, "You can play for $70 or you can play for $20". Also it will keep regulators off their backs if they decide to purchase another publisher because they are putting games on rival platforms.
Wait, wasn’t Destin the one telling Xbox Fans that the Xbox Series and PS5 will be tied at the beginning of this gen? He did the whole wavy hand graph to demonstrate.
Just got announced, Spring 2025 on PS5... And now I'll wait, got a massive backlog already with my PS4/PS5 Library (same on Xbox and Switch tbf) already got tons of PS5 Exclusives (or "Console Exclusives") and 3rd Party games I'll be playing for the rest of this year, that'll cover me till early 2025 stuff (including Doom The Dark Ages which I'll buy/play on PS5) then Indy will be out with a ton of bugs and issues sorted out on PS5 🤷♂️
I think a lot of bots seem to think that with Xbox games coming to PlayStation 5 Microsoft is going to be making a lot of money. That could not be further from the truth. PlayStation gamers love digital but they also love physical and the money that's going to have to be put out by Microsoft to make a physical disk , plastics and advertising. Sony gets the better deal .
@@nyikomaswanganyi5983 I just sent Phil Spencer A message on Xbox saying that I'm going to PS6 and A lot of other Xbox gamers as well if he doesn't do something
The PlayStation 5 is easy to develop for and Sony’s in house API is a lot more mature and stable over DirectX 12. Microsoft forces developers to use DirectX 12 on PC and Xbox which results in worse performing games and less stable games. Microsoft also forces developers to support the underperforming Xbox Series S which makes game development much harder. As Xbox developers continue to use PlayStation 5 Dev Kits, they’ll naturally want to make games for PlayStation over Xbox.
This is certainly worrying times . Do you think in time Xbox Games Pass will go onto PlayStation consoles? I love Xbox but cannot warrant getting two consoles anymore . If games pass goes onto PlayStation I will end up getting a next gen PlayStation console 😮
Destin - I REALLY hope your theory on the next system being ‘open’ is true. It gets me so fricken excited knowing I can play any game I own on Xbox. There are a lot of games I miss from my ps5 as I no longer own one
Now we know it is, but I stand by what I said. They weren't going to compromise the fact that Sony doesn't have a title as big this year. I do like that Playstation is getting the game because at this point I don't feel their is clear advantage for Microsoft to keep it exclusive. It would just result in lost sales due to GamePass and they would blame the developer and shut them. GamePass' larger issue is how do those funds devide to the studios who made the games and how do they justify what that actually is. Sales of a game are needed to first recoup the development costs.
Most Xbox studios probably don’t have the manpower to put out a ps5 version in addition to 2 Xbox versions and a pc version. I think the exclusivity window is more about resource management
Can I ask how you believe that would be the case? The architecture is incredibly similar. If a game is going to be running on two platforms, it's pretty easy to use IFDEFs to define your platform specific libraries and stuff.
@@ProtossHyrdalisk because the development environment and syscalls are different on ps5 than they are on direct x. Just because the hardware is very similar doesn’t mean that the API is as simple to translate. Just look at the Microsoft owned games that have come to PlayStation and switch thus far. They have required the hiring of specialist developers and more time. It’s the same reason Sony doesn’t put a 1st party developed game on PC day and date, they are all handled by a different port team.
Microsoft issue is communication... Believe it or not but team Xbox is so frustrating that the xbox series will be my last Xbox console i will ever buy because their messaging is so frustrating
Sony cant communicate for anything either nowadays, Id say they are even worse then microsoft. Xbox seems to atleast pretend they care about their fans. Also 10 years game awards is gonna be wild........
I really don't give damn anymore about what game will go to ps5. Just let exclusives be time exclusive and be done with it. This makes the company happy, and the players. For how long it will be exclusive can be decided by the company it doesn't have to follow the same time limit for every game. Some go earlier and some later to other platforms. More money for them and more enjoyment for me. I can't see a downside. The company will then only focus on quality of service and enticing subscriptions
First, there are reasons to own an Xbox. Second, there are reasons to own a PS too. Exclusivity is a thing of the past. By the logic of these PS fandudes, "Xbox has no exclusives because they are on pc," well......Sony is putting games on pc day and date too. Black Myth: Wukong is on PS,PC, and the Xbox consoles at a later time. I have all the the platforms and enjoy them all. Play whatever you want, where you want, like the console wars is just dumb.
so one idiot said it was forza and everyone ran with it like it was confirmed.. then he deletes his post. Now another idiot says IJ is for ps5 and everyone runs with it like it's fact. I doubt it's true, but IF it is, it's a mistake.
I think Bethesda content will eventually come to Playstation Consoles. But judging by Starfield not soon. Starfield and others might be hold outs for a very long time. I would imagine a 12 month timed Exclusve on Indiana Jones and Blade are reasonable. I don't think Microsoft is going to hurt their position with these titles immediently but others like Doom they listened to the team and what they wanted to do. Despite what anyone says, Microsoft is in a position not to really care. They will sell the titles at $70 there or you can just purchase GamePass on Xbox and PC. The real question is how long can Sony keep something like Spider-Man 2 exclusive from PC since everything else is on PC and they might have just broke even on that title as in March they said at 10 million they were only approaching profiablity on it. So a 10 Million mover doesn't even guarantee success anymore. Now I know Spider-Man has an immense budget to compensate along with advertising and the grubby hands of Disney, but still 10 Million. Also, based upon that idea, Blade will have to hit PS5 at somepoint. Blade will not perform Spider-Man numbers even releasing on PC at the same time. Microsoft is in a different business at this point. Sony is also, but they are kicking and screaming not wanting to go there. But you don't see people bitching that MLB the Show is on GamePass either. But no. After all the trail and error and waiting on things to manifest in the Xbox camp, Microsoft isn't compromising Indiana Jones' thunder this year. They want to position themselves as having good content. I think they will be more strategic than that.
It's getting very hard for me to support Microsoft. Looks like if I just don't buy anything, I can wait and they will bring it ps5 (and I bet steam in the future). What are they doing?
God knows why anyone cares what MS puts where. Until they start making good 1st party games, they can stick them wherever they want... I have suggestions if they need them.
Everyone freaking out, stop complaining and go buy a ps5 for $550 and Indians Jones for $80 and Call of Duty for $80, plus whatever else... I'll pay $20/month and play all of that and then go out and hang with friends and enjoy life.
Dream scenario would be Xbox developed a new gamepass for ps5 that has only Xbox exclusives. Don’t think it’ll happen but one could dream. Just have to live with two separate consoles in the meantime
@@SWOTHDRA well no because then you’d be buying another thing and it’s not a console which is what I’m getting at. If you could buy one console and the ps5 had a version of gamepass with Xbox exclusives, you’d be pretty set.
the problem aren't the rumors, the problem it's that the rumors are actually believable and more likely truth, if they had said this 10 years ago everyone would have laughed thinking it was a joke but not now.
Unless it's official, this is another nothingburger. Wasn't there a similar rumor earlier this year where Starfield was going to PS5 and nothing happened?
The number of people who treat rumours as if they're announcements is astonishing. When games media reports on rumours in this way, they lose credibility in much the same way as the boy who cried wolf. Sure, a rumour may turn out to be true, but I'll wait until an official announcement before I invest any attention or emotion on the matter. Reporting on rumours keeps the content mill going when there's nothing to actually report on for a couple of days. Reporting on rumours keeps the preferred narrative being spread. Reporting on rumours that turn out to be false, slowly corrodes trust in those outlets that repeatedly report on false rumours.
I only got a ps5 to play they exclusive games now not put on psn extra any more I going to save up for a gaming laptop and use that to PlayStation and Xbox games on it and I still use Xbox series x on tv for large collection games I own
Microsoft should leave the console market and become an industry leading publisher. They’ve got so many strong franchises now. I think their portable console will determine whether they drop out of the race entirely.
@@TheBean87but why? They can’t compete with PlayStation. Their only chance is making a unique product similar to what Nintendo has been doing. The current Xbox makes no sense in the market at all.
@ProtossHyrdalisk If they leave the console market, expect a price increase in the next PS. Both sides have launched with a high price console in the past, and the PS5 and Series X at least in the UK launched at the same price. Competition is a good thing, and due to Game Pass I only have a PS5 for exclusives.
Eventually all consoles will go and that's including PlayStation you're already starting to see software on other devices like fire sticks TVs and phones eventually the console will be something of the past and we've already seen Microsoft starting to leap into that market and as We Know PlayStation are always several years behind Microsoft
@@TheBean87Microsoft management has taken control you will get one more generation of xbox console unless sales improves dramatically or it sales get worse the xbox console is dead it costs billions of dollars in R and D to develop consoles
I don’t like this at all. All these Xbox exclusives going to PlayStation makes it look like they will eventually leave the console business. I would really hate that.
