She's a conservative politician who used to be chairwoman of the conservative part and defense secretary and is known for being extremely incompetent. Like Ursula von der Leyen, who is now the president of the European Commission. She also was defense secretary and is also known for being extremely incompetent and spent hundreds of millions of Euros on consulting contracts. This wasn't comedy (I personally don't find German comedy very funny), it's political satire. And German political satire can be savage (in a positive sense) because the authors are legally protected so they can say almost anything without fear of reprisals.
great reaction as always. it's really fun to see, how you react to our satire shows :) some background info to that show: the Heute Show (today show) airs every friday evening and they are part of the public national TV, so their facts have to be true and i'd say, that there also is at least a small expectation for educational commentary.
Calling the people of the State of Saarland Salafisten is a joke (Salafisten are ultra conservative islamists) - in real they are called Saarländer. With the Sailing boat: It is the Gorch Fock a military training boat of the german Navy where most of the higher ranked Navy soldiers are trained (old tradition). This Ship needed some repairs but wanted it as cheap as possible - result first company goes bankrupt while half done, next company who should take over stopped because it was more expensive for them as they got money and all this caused an explosion of costs and instead of half a year the repairs needed years over years.
The cleaning woman is Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer who was when the video was made the leader of the conservative party and was believed to have an excellent chance to become the next german chancellor after Merkel, because her party was leading in the polls. However, she was forced to resign as party leader because she made some mistakes and her party with a new candidate lost the next election.
It may be due to the European guidelines 😅 if they show everything, the usage rights and these costs need money But I think this channel is for German ^^ As a German native speaker, I can tell you that many jokes are not understood even when translated ^^ that is satire. I am very surprised that the two of them can laugh so much... Most of it doesn't make any sense when translated

they are trying to avoid a dmca claim. The viewership for these kind of videos is mostly german anyway I think. You can probably find the original video by searching for "Heute show brexit english subtitles". There are also a few other reactions by other channels to these kind of videos
