@@galatac7451 until he was in that haas and had a good car he had many podiums and top races. he was always good, just that haas was so bad it screwed his confidence. 10 podiums. his best stats were from when he raced with lotus and had kimi as teammate.
I love how with Indycar, ego and endless politics is left at the door and it's all about the racing. That was some hard racing, great show. Great to see you with the fans at the end too! Seeing you shine like this proves how much of a talent graveyard F1 is.
I don't think its a talent graveyard but it does show how much talent there is in f1 for him to go to Indy and do so well and it shows how hard it is to win and its competitiveness
It's not a talent graveyard, he is shining in IndyCar cuz it's a spec series, every single car is the same in all aspects apart from engine supplier and car setup. F1 is a constructors championship. The cars along with the driver makes the difference while in IndyCar, only the driver makes a difference.
@@EliteSkid123 I can agree Indy car is more about the driver and all the cars are the same I know this but F1 is about who can also develop the best car and it adds another layer of depth to see how diffirent teams can overcome a tetnical challenge
Romain is doing a Phenomenal job!! ❤️ Bonjour Romain! I don't know much about IndyCar, but after you joined it I guess I have to learn about IndyCar! I hope you and your family is having great day! LOT'S of Love and support! From: A little Girl, who is dreaming the Impossible! 🙃
IndyCar is awesome man. Just wait for the Indy 500 that’s the race to watch. It is one of the most historical races of all time the cars are going faster than F1 during that race. Hopefully he’ll be ready to race in it next year.
in f1 romain was often very grumpy and not so happy which made it hard to see the man himself but in America he has really found the joy in life again and it shows as he has such a happy glow around him now which is great to see.
Tbh I don’t think he will go back to f1 he is performing immense in Indy-car and if he stays he can make a big name, and the way I see it is that he performs better in Indy car then formula one so that might mean he will stay.
@@EricBurns1 Agreed! Rossi is my driver and my two young sons love Herta, Hunter-Reay, and Dixon, but man we are all absolutely fans of Grosjean! His incredible story plus his magnetic personality, how can you not love and cheer for the guy?!
He has 10 podiums, and they were all as Kimi's #2 at Lotus. He was then saddled with uncompetitive cars in the turbo-hybrid era and a move to a clown Haas team afterwards.
Romain I was lucky enough to get a picture with you before the race in Indy when you were coming down the stairs at the winners circle. Thanks for being super kind and taking the time to snap a photo with me! You did awesome in the race, it was so cool to see you come down the main straight into turn one, I was seated in the bleachers up to the left with a great view onto the first turn! Congrats on P2 and thanks for the awesome picture and a great memory! I won't forget that! And I hope you enjoyed your first oval race!
I've seen you drive your entire career in F1. Yet I learned more about who you are as a person in the first couple of Indy races than I did the entire time you were in F1. Glad you're here.
Can we honestly get an uncut onboard version of lap 84-92. Cause that was some of the greatest oval driving I’ve seen in an Indycar from a “rookie” lol. Awesome work Romain!
For real! I still get chills thinking back to those laps and how the entire crowd was just goin' nuts and erupting every time he made a pass. It was so awesome to be there!
I love seeing comments about people coming to Indycar. I bet this showed ovals are a lot of fun to watch and more difficult for the drivers than you think.
It’s great to see Romain developing a huge fan base. It doesn’t surprise me because he’s so personable and goes out of his way to acknowledge him. His team’s sponsors must be very happy with their investment. Great race for a first oval. I never followed Indy car until he started racing it.
i have been following Roman since his dayz with Lotus the accidents that this guy has been in is mind boggling im amazed everytime he hits the track i hope he has found a home with Indy and deserves all the attention and support he is a great driver.
We all know racing is dangerous. As fans, we have seen other drivers crash and not be as fortunate as you were. However, after seeing your accident and watching you crawl out of that fire, and now seeing you still racing, being successful, and smiling, brings a smile to my face, every single time. You are an inspiration to me and I'm sure many other people. Never give up, never stop doing what you love, and never let fear control your life. You are not only a great race car driver, you are a fantastic human being. Thank you, Romain, for just being you.
Well said! He's quickly becoming a fan-favorite here in the States. Between his incredible story of recovery from last year's crash to his amazingly-positive attitude and magnetic personality, you HAVE to love this guy!
Im from the Netherlands and have been a Grosjean fan since the Lotus f1 days, so happy to see him having a blast in Indy, Romain is the reason i got into indycar and its so much more approachable and personal feeling. I wish him nothing but the best!
Romain n'a pas peur de montrer de l'amour aux gens, c'est un gars formidable. S'il en reçoit autant qu'il en donne, il doit être comblé de bonheur ! Merci Romain !
I’m surprised at how many times Romain was cut off or had contact, that’s brutal out there lol. Anyways Romain is awesome, he seems happy to be in Indycar, and he’s performing well even on a discipline he’s not even used too
I like that IndyCar allows more contact and has their cars able to stand up to more substantial contact but in this race there were definitely cars moving in front or avoidable contact that could have been penalized
From road courses to ovals, Indy cars give you a little bit of everything. You've mastered your first one. Now it's time not to only master the next one, but to win. Keep up the great work, your fans are with you.🏁
I am so glad this is happening and we get to see it from the inside from you. Congratulations on everything you've done so far and I'm so happy we get to see so much more from you now!
RoGro having great time in oval. It must be preety crazy for him to keep turning left and seeing so much action happening around him. People, this is true racing "Man + Machine + High Speed"
We had the privilege of watching the race from pit road right near Roman’s box, it was so awesome to see the crowd go wild on every overtake. Roman was also kind enough to give us a few minutes to chat before the race. Such a great guy and a hell of a racer!
Awesome run and keeping it off the wall with all the beating and banging with other drivers. I always look forward to the VLOGs and on-board footage. Keep it up Romain!
It’s so nice to see you somewhere where you can really shine as a driver!! You’re doing an amazing job, good luck for the rest of the season and much love to you and your family :)
Excellent first time on an oval Romain, I think your best move of the night was your save! You are gaining a lot of American fans! Good luck rest of the season
Great race there, Romain! Some seriously brave overtakes! Honestly my DotD, and the reason I've started watching IndyCar this year! All the best for the final few races mate!
I was glad to see your first oval race in person. Was hoping you would get a top 10 finish, but top 15 isn't bad either. Those moves during the middle of the race certainly caught my eye and is the reason why one more Grosjean merchandise item was sold. Hope to see more of you around Indycar. The series really suits you.
Future Indycar champ. I can feel it in my bones. Man it’s great to see that smile on your face after an amazing drive. Can’t wait to see you in the future
What a show! You drove amazingly. Your crew chief is correct, you showed some FAST hands catching that car. Dale Coyne sets up a great short oval car. Hope to see you in more oval races!
Congratulations Romain! My family and I came down to St. Louis for the weekend from Davenport, Iowa to watch you race and you did such an incredible drive for your first oval! The crowd was erupting in cheers every move you made on the field, it was just so awesome to be a part of it! You were the star of the show, the big story of the race, and I hope you continue to find success and happiness in Indycar! We love watching you and can't wait to see you progress in the series!
It’s great seeing these videos, from the transition away from F1 to the complete embracement of Indycar and the US experience, as well as seeing the fans returning the favor. That W’s coming soon. Thank you for sharing these videos and keep up the good work!
AAAYYYY ROMAIN!!! It's great to see you racing fast and confident again mate! Your story is inspirational. Your driving is incredible. And you're RU-vid content is some of the best from any racing driver in any league. America is pulling for you Romain. The Phoenix is rising! CHEERS!
Excellent race! Looks like you've got a great car, great team, and great patience. That's going to land you on the top step soon! Thank you for coming to IndyCar -- You're the driver that got me interested in IndyCar again!
Romain, that series of overtakes was unbelievable! I was cheering for you with mounting excitement after each one! You had me out of my seat. Excellent racing
What a great drive Romain! Making passes inside and outside. Taking advantage of the outside early in the race before any marbles built up, and then again after the sweepers did their thing. Keep it up man, lovely to watch!
He was so beat down and miserable in the f1 circus, hes such a happy man mow, im so happy for him to find a home in America were we love him, i never got to see him in a good car in f1 so this is super awesome
I had so much fun watching you on a oval. You had some of the most impressive passes of the whole race especially when you went on the outside of cars just powering around them like I said before you have renewed my love for indycar and I enjoy watching you every lap
Nice passing Romain.....that one pass, when you held onto the inside line and you both slightly touched......amazing job on keeping it on the track. Looking forward to the next race.
You know how exciting it was watching hamilton and verstappen go side by side for a few corners? Oval racing is that, except it's entire race of being that razer close your opponent at speeds that are even higher than f1. I hope that helps explain the appeal to f1 fans, and I hope these on boards show that oval racing is anything but boring.
I mean yeah, I can respect it. But it's still boring to watch, fun to drive an oval as I sim race but not very interesting to watch, oval racing is very much strategy racing.
@@Nox_Desiree I think the the not as fun to watch aspect is all down to the broadcast production. The commenters need a shake up, the camera direction needs a shake up to, focusing more on onboards imo. The constant ad breakes make following the race diffcult, just really the whole indycare production needs an full quality tier upgrade. Oval races as they broadcasted now, yea are kinda boring. But I think that can be fixed.
@@zelkuta I totally agree. Oval gets a bad rep because of american production. They need to really follow the action better than they do. As it stands right now, when you watch an oval race, be it NASCAR or Indy, they kinda just follow the pack and it's super disjointed to the viewer. You don't get the storyline of how each car is jostling and fighting with the pack, unless they are in 1st place
@@zelkuta People joke about how NASCAR and other oval racing is racing for stupids because its all left turns, but honestly I think watching and getting the most out of an oval race takes way closer attention to detail than watching, say F1 or other road racing
Well done Romain! Looks Like you enjoy every single moment of your time in series, which is great to see after that crash in bahrain. I love you videos. It remains me how great Indycar is! Good luck to you, and wish you and your family very best to future!
It’s incredible to see all the support you’re getting here in the US. You’re having a rocking “rookie” season, can’t wait to see you race when you get more comfortable in IndyCar 😂🤩🏁
Your ability to get a feel for and use the high line was super impressive. Gateways rubber marbles are like dust so it's very hard to tell how clean or not clean the high line is. You absolutely put on a show there. I can't wait to see you run the Indy 500 and a full season next year
Romain, Great job brother! I loved the end, walking the fence to be with the fans! Incredible mad love for you in America! We appreciate you more than you know! and hail to Dale for putting you in a car! Smart man! Pretty damn good first oval - Getting caught with that yellow is just bad luck, nothing you or the team did wrong, roll of the dice. The save on cold tires was a veteran move, not everyone could've pulled that off.
I've watched Romain the past 4 years in F1. Great guy, either couldn't drive or had the worst luck on an underfunded team. It was the team. I'm very happy to see him racing so well and a smile back on his face.
Glad I was there to see your first oval race. Was awesome seeing you move your way up the field. Hope you continue to improve throughout your IndyCar career. Keep up the good work, Fireball.
So happy that you are doing so well. As an F1 fan of many years I always thought you were under-rated and never had an opportunity to show your true talent.
Been watching you since the early Lotus days in F1. I used to race with you in the old F1 games. Proud to to see you running well in Indy. You deserve to have your talent shine.
Welcome to America and Indycar racing Romain! I wish you the best, and continued success here in the US! It looks like you belong here with these awesome drivers! I for one will be cheering for you!!
